Patrick was amazing and supervised the project from start to finish. Excellent quality and professionalism! I was very impressed and pleased with the end result, and would highly recommend them. **★★★★★ — David Olander, Feb. 2018** > I have worked with Peter and Gialluisi Custom Homes for 3 years now. Peter, Todd and the them were very easy to work with and both the workmanship and customer service were top quality. Whenever there was an issue/question it was addressed immediately and a solution was developed to our satisfaction. > > Once the project was complete the follow up care and customer service could not have been any better. Any minor issue (there were no major issues) that occurred was remedied almost immediately as they really stand by their product; this was my experience even beyond the one year post construction window. > > I personally refer Gialluisi whenever anyone asks me for a builder and would without a doubt use them again if I built another house. **Comment from Gialluisi Custom Homes:** > Andi, your review is highly appreciated, I am so thrilled to see that even four years later you are still loving your property and enjoying every moment living in your new home. We had toured an open house that he built and knew we has to meet the builder. WE met Pete and told him we wanted the same exact house in Westfield. Pete was amazing at not only building the house to meet our every need but he also helped pick the best lot to build it on. The project management team was instrumental in the process and extremely accommodating. Pat made the process so smooth and he was so personal and informative about every part of the process. 2 years later we are still so extremely thrilled with our house and have not had any issues. We are still in contact with them and they are so responsive to all our needs. I highly recommend them. **Comment from Gialluisi Custom Homes:** > Your dream house, your rules. It was a pleasure to involve the best people in my team in bringing your dream home to life. And the result is fantastic, we managed to find a great lot in a beautiful location and Patrick, our invaluable project manager, ensured every step of the process was well documented. I am so happy to hear the house lives up to your expectations! Thank you for your kind words...! **★★★★★ — Jake Sigmund, Feb. 2018** > The Gialluisi Team guided us through the process of designing the house with the assistance of his architect, engineer, and his own experience of building high quality homes > > As construction commenced we developed a close working relationship with Peter and Todd along with most of their sub contractors, who were extremely courteous, responsive, and trustworthy. The overall demolition and construction went smoothly and the Gialluisi team provided a level of service and detail that surpassed our expectations. The Gialluisi team frequently worked on Saturdays and Sundays as well as during the frequent snow storms we had this winter. Given the weather, we thought the project could be significantly delayed, but our home was finished within a couple of weeks of the initial completion date. > > We have been in our dream home for 3 1/2 years and we couldn’t be more pleased with how the overall project turned out, from our first meeting with Peter, to finding the property, then contract negotiation, followed by planning and design, and then demolition and construction. The minor issues that always come up after a new house is built have been quickly addressed and we feel confident that Peter and Todd are just a text or phone call away. We whole heartedly recommend Gialluisi Custom Homes to anyone interested in buying or building their dream home **Comment from Gialluisi Custom Homes:** > We are always happy to help you bring your dream home to life. We always engage the best professionals available and make sure your dream home is coming along just the way you wanted it. Note: the furniture and decor shown is not ours, I plan to go with a white slip covered couch and a more transitional or California coastal style. We are also redoing the fireplace in a few months and adding dark brown wood shelves to the right of the fireplace. Door will be squared off instead of arched. A: You should consider adding Frech doors - they match the overall style of your home, look amazing and allow easy access from one room to the other. Check out some of our homes at www.gialluisihomes.com and get inspired. **Q: dark granite/white cabinets??** *(in Design Dilemma)* I’m updating my house, but we’ve already done the floors and stairs, so a full kitchen overhaul has to wait. I’m having a lot of other painting done, so I’m considering having the kitchen cabinets painted but leaving the granite for now. I originally thought white (or a soft/french white) wouldn’t work, but I’ve seen pics with similar granite that I thought looked ok, I would swap the hardware for black. Thoughts? A: You should keep the cabinets - that beautiful cherry wood is timeless and will never go out of style. Consider replacing the backsplash - pick a lighter color to create a beautiful contrast. Check out some examples below: Go to www.gialluisihomes.coom to get more inspiration. **Q: Do you know the exact floor stain color name/code number? Thank you!** *(in Photo Questions)* A: Hello Todd. For this dining room we used Dark Walnut (really dry to light up the color), by Minwax. Hope this is helpful! **Q: Kitchen Renovation, Before/ After** *(in Before & After)* So happy with my new kitchen. I loved reading your posts and getting insight. Thank you We got rid of the breakfast bar, painted the cabinets, calacutta botanica countertops, stainless steel clover design backsplash, schoolhouse pendants from pottery barn and Bosch appliances. A: Great job, love the fresh look your kitchen has now. Have you considered replacing the floor tiles with hardwood floors? It would look amazing in combination with the white cabinets. Check out some examples below: Discover more beautiful homes at www.gialluisihomes.com **Q: Low budget kitchen makeover** *(in Before & After)* We LOVE how it turned out!! :) A few notes: \- Our home is mostly traditional (a bit transitional), so that was the goal here, too. \- While we realize that the raised panel cathedral door style is WAY out, we actually really love how it all looks now that they've been painted. \- We realize that crystal in the kitchen is a polarizing topic - especially three crystal chandeliers, and such traditional ones at that (that everyone seems to hate these days lol)... but we LOVE them! They're easily my favorite feature and have been easy to keep clean over the past year that we've had them installed. :) \- Adding hardware has made an enormous difference... and the new contrast between black granite and cream cabinetry has been great, too. \- We're glad we decided on cream for cabinets and white for tile; makes for a nice "layered" effect and adds some good interest to a room with so much white (we were initially concerned that they wouldn't play well with each other). \- Adding glass to those three cabinets has really opened up the kitchen (still have to fill those shelves), as has removing that single cabinet to the right, between the windows (we replaced it with dark stained open shelves for added contrast). And now the pics... (the after is a bit Christmasy, but you all get the idea!)... BEFORE: AFTER: A: What a beautiful transformation! Love the glass cabinets and the color palette! **Q: Poll: To paint or not to paint? (Brick around fireplace)** *(in Polls)* So I’m trying to give some thought to our fireplace area. Recently moved and have a fireplace. But there’s brick work all around it. Not to mention it’s assymetrical which kinda bothers me.... Anyway, would one paint the brick or not? I’ve seen brick painted before but idk if that would work with my situation. Sorry about the pic The carpet will be replaced to something lighter and marbled. Also the walls will be painted to something called “Cinncinnatian Hotel Hannaford” by Valspar. (https://images.myperfectcolor.com/repositories/images/colors/MPC00089441-2.jpg) What say you, people? Any other tidbits about the fireplace you would care to share? Thank you!! A: You should really take advantage of the fact that the fireplace is asymmetrical. Our advice is to leave the brick as it is right now (pant it later if needed). Add a nice mantel and create a sitting space in the right side - there's enough space to create a cozy reading nook, for example. Plus, the brick will create a beautiful contrast with the rest of the colors you picked for the space. However, you can paint the brick at the end, if you are not satisfied how it looks.
