The combination of elements in this house has a very warming effect. Pine beams, marble floors, exposed copper sprinkler system and stone walls accented with Stickley quarter-sawn oak mission furniture throughout is very appealing. **Q: Please help crush my dreams** *(in Design Dilemma)* There's a house for sales that has intrigued me for months. Please tell me I'm crazy. There's no way this house would even qualify for a mortgage, right? How does one remove a giant rock from under a house? I need to stop torturing myself. A: I recently purchased a home through HomePath. This is a site for unloading foreclosed homes around the country. You may not get a mortgage for this house, so if your serious, set a "top offer" in your mind. Start low and have a realtor who specializes in these type of transactions work on your behalf (not the listing agent, who probably gets perks for selling at or near asking price). You will need to use cash or a home equity line with your current home to make the offer stick. But don't let emotions go above your top offer. Be prepared to wait a long time for the offer to go through, but once they agree on your price, it will move quickly!! Based on the photos, you should have money set aside for major renovations.
