### Reviews

**★★★★★ — Sarah Gyiraszi, March 2025**

> We couldn't be happier with the work Jeff LeFevre did on our kitchen backsplash. The glass mosaic tile installation is absolutely stunning and has transformed the space. He came highly recommended by a tile store, and we are so glad we took their advice. Not only is his craftsmanship and attention to detail exceptional, but his pricing was also very reasonable. We wholeheartedly recommend him!

**Comment from VersaTile Interiors:**

> Thank you for the review, Sarah. Two years later, it still looks as good as the day it was originally completed. Great care on your part.

**★★★★★ — Kumar M, May 2024**

> Jeff (VersaTile Interiors) did all the tilework for our newly built custom house. We could not be more happy with the job that he did. The quality and craftsmanship is second to none. He was awesome to work with and one of the most meticulous contractors we had the pleasure of dealing with. He was extremely communicative the entire process to make sure the look and style was exactly what we wanted in each of the rooms. He is familiar with all styles and current trends and techniques. He's a great guy. I highly recommend Jeff and VersaTile for your next project. It is hard to find a contractor like him and you won't be disappointed.

> Jeff had innovative ideas and fine attention to detail. Our kitchen tile is beautiful. Our kitchen is more open and allows more interaction with guests from kitchen to dining area. See before and after photo attached

> Jeff was very professional. A pleasure to work with. Tile is definitely an art form and I’m so happy with the finished product. Thank you again!

> Jeff was an expert from the start. I was not happy with my current eight year old tile backsplash but had no idea what to select for a replacement. I had Jeff come over to give me a price and he literally took over with helping me decide which kind of tile would look best for my kitchen . He has a great eye, is extremely pleasant to work with, does excellent work, and is very neat from start to finish. I would highly recommend him for tile and To help with your designing

**★★★★★ — John Carr, Feb. 2020**

> Jeff is a true professional who views your project as a work of art, not just a "job". He takes so much pride in his work and was a delight to have in our home for a couple days. The backsplash he installed brightened up our kitchen and was the finishing touch our space required. Jeff is meticulous and the quality of his work is as good as I've seen. He went to great lengths to keep the area clean and free of debris. My wife and I highly recommend him!

**★★★★★ — Catherine Greco, July 2019**

> Jeff has renovated 4 bathrooms over the years for me and each one was tiled to perfection. He is a perfectionist and also gives great advice as to what color grout looks best. It's refreshing to see someone who really cares about their work. You will be very happy if you hire Jeff .

**★★★★★ — James Burke, July 2019**

> My wife and I hired VersaTile Interiors to replace the floor and shower tile in our apartment bathroom, and we could not be happier with the result! From the beginning, working with Jeff and Ken was a breath of fresh air - Jeff was able to quote us and provide advice on our project simply from pictures we provided, and communicated with us regularly on timing. We didn't make the project any easier for them - our 100+ year old apartment building had uneven walls and floors, and we under-ordered for BOTH the shower and floor tiles. Jeff had the foresight to notice we would be short tiles well in advance, giving us time to re-order and allow the project to continue without interruption. Despite the curveballs they had to deal with, Jeff and Ken did an absolutely perfect job, and my wife and I are thrilled with the end result. They also patched a few existing holes in our walls and installed baseboard in the bathroom. They are meticulous, thoughtful, easy-going, and down to earth. If we could give 6/5 stars, we would! My wife and I will undoubtedly look to hire Versatile Interiors for our next project.

**★★★★★ — Carol Conig, April 2019**

> We had a tough flooring job to fix as a result from a huge error from another tile & contracting company; the brand new installed floor was uneven and it was never leveled.
> Jeff was the only contractor who offered THREE different resolutions to our problem, and, cared enough to help us. He was initially and visibly excited to help us figure out a solution. Other contractors had nowhere near the professionalism and willingness to help as Jeff.
>
> He was engaged the entire time we communicated, really cared about making it the right fix, and considered all aspects of the job: entryway, color fit and our personal preference. The color he helped us choose is 100x better than the initial one!!! so happy!
> He listened and remembered well, and, communicated well throughout the process,
> Jeff was no nonsense: did what he said, got us an estimate, showed up when he said and, and worked very neatly.
> Jeff is extremely professional, and passionate about the work he does. We are EXTREMELY happy with his quality work and excellent work ethic.
> Top picture below is AFTER, the two below are BEFORE.

**Comment from VersaTile Interiors:**

> Thank you Carol. It was a pleasure to create a solution together. I uploaded the pictures you wished to share. For those viewing this: The picture on the left is showing the floor AFTER the installation, while the pic on the right is the BEFORE picture. In the BEFORE picture, the 3rd and 4th row of tiles in front of the refrigerator created a valley-like depression. It was annoying and uncomfortable to walk across the floor.

**★★★★★ — Sierra Landscape Management, LLC, April 2019**

> Jeff's work is great. As one craftsman to another I can appreciate the care and time he puts into making sure his projects come out great. He did 3 baths and a kitchen for us and we are hoping to bring him back for our new project.

**★★★★★ — Gary Kelly, March 2019**

> Jeff (Versatile) was recommended by the Store where we bought the tile. We could not be happier with the results! He is a true craftsman. Was also very helpful with guiding us with decisions during the project (@ 550 sq ft of floor tile). Great job! Would absolutely recommend him!

## Community Q&A

**Q: Need help tying shower wall with shower and bathroom floor tile** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Last week we picked the our bathroom floor, shower floor and wall tile. I was not feeling it that day and a week later I'm still not so my spouse has said to go select something I like ...

The bathroom counter is a remnant piece that you can see laying on top of everything in the pic. It was selected weeks ago. We have not finalized the vanity color yet ... so we can pick any stain, any wood, etc. there. Also, the remainder of the bathroom walls do not have an assigned color yet. The dark gray hexagons are for the shower floor, the lighter gray hexagons were selected for the bathroom floor (spouse really wants slate-look hexagons or slate-look herrigone so I'd like to keep it). Where things went wrong was the big cream looking tile in the pic for the shower wall (purpose was to match the vanity countertop). The first selection our designer guided us towards was a similar size that was even creamier. After my input, this tile (less yellowy/creamy) was selected as a compromise but I still do not like it (I was told that we could not use subway tile on a shower bench (?)).

What do you think would work better on the shower wall?? (I like subway tile). Thank you for your help.
\*\*Note that the shower will not be zero entry per the plan\*\*

A: Your product selections are almost all fine. Subway is fine for the shower. The bench seat should be made from the same stone as the counter top. The problem is the cream color for the shower walls. It does not work with the rest of the products. A better solution would be standard white with silver gray grout joints, or my preference, silvery gray subway tile. I think a porcelain tile that resembles a stone product would look great but a solid color may suit your fancy, too.

**Q: Backsplash confusion** *(in Polls)*

Trying to choose what to do for our backsplash for a small kitchen. We are using 3x6 Home Depot bright white subway tile with a light grey grout (thinking platinum from Home Depot?). Trying to decide how far to extend the backsplash tiling and if we should go up the wall on the left side. Any tips or advice would be appreciated!

A: I agree with Rachel Lee. When I studied this, the first thought that came to me was, "Why do anything? There is nothing wrong with it."

**Q: What is the best backsplash for a busy countertop?** *(in Polls)*

Ok, so I have a really busy granite countertop and messed it up with a really busy backsplash. I'm thinking about redoing but always come to the same conclusion, nothing would look good against it. Please any interior designers out there, what do you recommend?

A: EAM44 has good suggestions. I agree except for tile size. The area you are tiling is so small that a smaller dimension tile makes more sense to me. The picture you submitted of 4x12 showed a significantly larger backsplash area. The 4x12 fits comfortably. But if you choose 4x12 anyway, it will not be the end of the world. At this point, I think you are focused enough to make a decision and go with it because the fact is, you cannot lose. Either outcome will work.

**Q: White or grey grout for subway tiles** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I love this forum! I get such great advice! Thanks in advance. I am finishing off this subway tile and am debating if we want white or greyish grout? It is a very white kitchen with white cabinets and Bianco Drift quartz. Thoughts? Thanks so much!

A: acm makes a good point. I did not notice that you were only grouting the first course. Because the rest of the backsplash is white, it only makes sense to finish with white. Seal it after the grout dries. It will make cleaning easier.

**Q: Seeking comments on countertops and backsplash for our kitchen** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We have been waffling between Carrara marble, Statuary marble, Cambria Quartz and various white granite countertops. My wife and I are in different camps on this one. The majority of the downstairs is going to be painted Revere Pewter from Benjamin Moore. The island is going to be black walnut and the floors are Castle Combe Sodbury.

Currently, the backsplash is going to be Jeffrey Court River Wash Field Tile 3X6. However, this may need to change if we go a different direction with the countertops.

Suggestions, considerations, opinions, potentially overlooked color schemes you might want to suggest.......would love to hear thoughts and ideas in order to take all options into account so that we can put this phase of decision making to rest.

Many Thanks for your comments.

A: The solid white cabinets will feature better with some complementary contrast. Therefore, I think the white/gray natural stone top is a good direction. It would add some warmth and work well with the planned wall paint color. As for the backsplash, I would recommend 3x6 glass with the white backing. No color. The marvelous quality of glass is that it plays with the room light and reflects color highlights from the room. Therefore, the same tile can take on gray highlights in one room, sea green in a different room and aqua in another. The room lighting influences the glass "color". Subway tile never goes out of style yet the glass provides a contemporary , very clean edge. Hope this helps.
