We worked together remotely and it was like she was in my living room. She gets a feel for you, your style and has a knack of steering you in the right direction. Thank you. Can't wait for part 2! **Comment from Gila- home design & color guru:** > Thank you, Rebeca! I truly appreciate your thoughtful words. Working with you was such a pleasure — even from a distance, I loved how we created together. **★★★★★ — EvaMarie L, Sept. 2024** > I have used Gila's talent in the past, and there is no way I can work on any project without her! > > Several years ago, she painted a beautiful mural for my son's room, which came out terrific! > > This past year, I decided to change the colors of all my rooms in the house. I had an idea of the look I wanted, but I wasn't sure what colors to use. Gila is the ultimate expert who came to the rescue! She has such a good eye for color and knowledge of what would look best in the size of the room and furniture, etc. She made the process so easy, with no stress! > > If anyone is have trouble deciding on colors for your home, do not hesitate to reach out to Gila. She is truly the best! **Comment from Gila- home design & color guru:** > Dear Eva Marie, > Thank you so much for your kind words and for trusting me with your projects over the years! It has been an absolute pleasure working with you, from creating the mural for your son's room to helping you transform your home with new colors. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be part of these meaningful moments in your life. Your support means the world to me! **★★★★★ — Linda Rodman, May 2024** > GILA WORKS! > I wanted someone to just help me choose paint colors for my open plan kitchen/living room. Gila to the rescue! At a very reasonable hourly rate, she looked at the room, then the rest of the house (“just so I know your taste better”) and came up with a plan, tactfully and creatively remedying my overly-busy current colors, and sent 39 (yep!) paint samples for my husband and me to play with, including careful instructions about how to look and how to choose, together with an invitation to call her back if needed. And a referral to a painter, who was brilliant. > Here’s the thing: because she is traveling, the whole thing was done via Zoom. Yes, it worked like a charm. We’re sooooo happy with the process and the outcome. ❤️. Do not hesitate! **Comment from Gila- home design & color guru:** > Thank you so much for this wonderful review! It was an absolute pleasure helping you transform your space, and I am thrilled to hear how much you and your husband enjoyed the process (and the outcome!). ✨ > > It is true—being on the road does not stop me from bringing color magic to my clients! Working remotely via Zoom allows me to connect with amazing people like you, no matter where I am parked, and it’s proof that design knows no boundaries! > > I love hearing how the paint samples and instructions made the decision-making fun (39 options can be a color party, right?). And I am so glad the painter referral worked out brilliantly too! ️ > > Here’s to your beautiful, harmonious space that now truly feels like you. If you ever need help again, Zoom is just a click away. > > Warmly, > Gila **★★★★★ — K G, March 2024** > I found Gila through Houzz. I needed advise about a complicated color change for my kitchen and dining room. Gila was very professional, helpful and sweet. As she learned about me and my home and my color sense, I learned about her and her life adventure on the road, her new book about her experiences and her courage. It was a great match, she sent me lots of large paint swatches to work with in the light changes and I am super excited to paint my outdated kitchen and dining room a new fabulous color! We had our meetings remotely and everything worked out great! **Comment from Gila- home design & color guru:** > Thank you, Kathryn. I enjoyed working with you. I love connecting with my clients on a spiritual level as it helps me understand your needs and desires better. Even though we connected remotely, I felt as if I was right there in your home. **★★★★★ — HU-872289441, Nov. 2023** > Gila quickly helped us when we were stuck on color choices. Working remotely, she was able to look at our home and come up with a wonderful solution both me and my husband liked. Her insights were spot on and so valuable. She is such an expert with colors and warm, thoughtful and fun to talk to. She took the anxiety out of choosing the right colors. Highly recommend! **Comment from Gila- home design & color guru:** > Thank you Margaret for your kind words. It was a pleasure working with you. **★★★★★ — itzmep, April 2023** > "Color Guru" is the exact title for Gila. Through FaceTime and phone conversations, Gila helped transform my entire first floor (five rooms, two hallways and stairway) with recommendations on colors, provided color samples of me to chose from and helped in my decision making for my painter. If the color samples were not what I "thought" I wanted, more ideas and samples were provided. She has a keen eye and "heard" what I was looking for. As previously stated, we did this remotely. And I am extremely happy with the outcome. > Do not shy away from the remote process. Gila is responsive and works within your timeline. **Comment from Gila- home design & color guru:** > A successful remote consultation is the trust connection between my client and me. Thank you, Margaret, for this trust. **★★★★★ — khhigbee, July 2022** > Gila is much more than someone who just advises you on color. Her keen eye sweeps across your room(s) -- and you end up getting a lot of good advice on aspects beyond paint color. > > I contacted Gila at the recommendation of a paint store in Ridgewood because my painter unexpectedly had time to do my family room, and I needed a color -- fast. She helped me figure out which color direction I wanted to go in, and then we narrowed it down to a couple of choices. I'm happy with the final result, and she also gave me ideas on a few other things while she was here. Gila also has a lot of contacts in the home improvement business, so she's a good resource if you're looking for someone to make curtains, hand-paint furniture, or do a renovation. **Comment from Gila- home design & color guru:** > Thank you for your kind words, I am so glad you found my services helpful. It was a pleasure working with. **★★★★★ — HU-545601343, June 2022** > I recently had the pleasure of inviting Gila into my home for her expertise with colors. It was a very challenging paint project as there were many walls with various lighting and shadows to accommodate while keeping the color consistant in appearance. Gila was able to create a beautiful custom color that worked nicely on all the walls regardless of the different degrees of lighting and this is truly an amazing testament to her brilliant talents and natural abilities as a gifted artist. In addition, she was very respectful of the budget I had allowed for this project. I am a very pleased customer! **Comment from Gila- home design & color guru:** > Dear Frank, thank you for appreciating what it took to solve the challenge of choosing the right color for your beautiful home. As an artist creating custom colors for my client is a fun and exciting task. It also means there is no limit to choosing the right color, so I'm glad you trusted me to do my magic :) **★★★★★ — phillipsncp, March 2022** > Working with Gila was great. She was patient and knowledgeable when helping us pick out paint colors, and her flexibility in scheduling made the planning process really convenient. We are also thrilled with all of the discounts she helped us get and continues to help us receive when ordering furniture!! **Comment from Gila- home design & color guru:** > Hi Nick, I'm so glad you guys are enjoying my designer discounts, It's really truly my pleasurer to provide my clients with any range of discounts that can help reduces the cost of their project. > Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with me and my work. **★★★★★ — Laurie Hill, March 2022** > Gila’s expertise goes beyond picking the perfect paint colors for your home. Gila gets to know you and what colors make you feel “at home”. She picked colors that not only matched perfectly with my decor, but also colors that I love! Thanks Gila! **Comment from Gila- home design & color guru:** > Thank you Laurie! I do take pride in adjusting myself to my clients and what colors bring them the "home" feeling, I'm so glad you love the end result. **★★★★★ — HU-8723612596257526, March 2022** > Gila is fantastic! Our open concept living/dining area was in need of good design help to bring it all together. Gila listened, made thoughtful, on point suggestions, worked with our budget, and really focused on our personal style. She also encouraged me to create my own artwork for one wall which is something I've wanted to do for years! Gila is creative, professional, practical, and an all around good person. Highly recommend. **Comment from Gila- home design & color guru:** > Debbie, I love your painting! it really came out a beautiful piece of art. As an artist myself I know how sometime it can be intimidating to start and create, so I'm glad you accepted my encouragements :) **★★★★★ — HU-195055007, Feb. 2022** > Gila is amazing and a pleasure to work with. She explained and educated us about colors with all the different shades and tints and how they work together. She also recommended home improvement ideas that would enhance our home. It was a farmhouse that needed some help, but the owner had a taste that is at once sophisticated and down to earth. The challenge was to bring colors that reflect the client’s taste while keeping in mind the local country flavor, but with the two of us, we were able to make something that stunned everyone.
