> We had an outstanding experience working with this interior design company from start to finish. Their creativity, professionalism, and attention to detail completely transformed our space beyond what we imagined. They took the time to understand our style, needs, and budget, and every recommendation felt thoughtful and personalized.
>
> The team was organized, communicative, and easy to work with throughout the entire process. The quality of the design, colors, and finishing touches all came together beautifully. Our bathroom now feels elegant, comfortable, and functional at the same time.
>
> What impressed us most was how they balanced great design with practicality. We’ve received so many compliments from friends and family, and we couldn’t be happier with the final result.
>
> Highly recommend this company to anyone looking for talented designers who truly care about their clients and deliver exceptional work. We will continue to work with them on all of our projects for the foreseeable future.

> We hired LS to help with our full home remodel, expecting experienced and professional service based on their marketing. Unfortunately, that wasn’t our experience.
>
> Setting design preferences aside, the overall quality of service ranged from poor to fair. The biggest issues were with project management and how design concepts were presented. A strong designer should not only bring thoughtful ideas, but also communicate them clearly and concisely so the client understands the vision and process. In our case, the presentations were often unclear and added confusion rather than clarity.
>
> Ultimately, we were left with the impression that the team lacked sufficient real-world experience to manage a project of this scope effectively.

**Comment from LS Design Studio:**

> We are sorry to hear this was your experience, as communication and presentation are extremely important aspects of our process. As we mentioned offline, our process, scope, and deliverables were outlined throughout onboarding and the duration of the project, and no concerns regarding the quality of services were communicated directly to us during the course of the project. Additionally, design decisions had not yet been finalized and our official project management services had therefore not yet commenced. We would have welcomed the opportunity to address any issues immediately had they been raised.
>
> We wish you the best with the remainder of your project.

> Working with LS Design was an absolute pleasure! Their incredible eye for design and attention to detail made every aspect of the project feel seamless and polished. They are not only talented but also incredibly communicative and easy to work with, ensuring every step of the process is smooth. When a minor issue arose with a delivery (completely out of their control), they went above and beyond—not only making it right but also adding a thoughtful surprise and delight touch that made the final result even more special. Their commitment to excellence and client satisfaction is truly unmatched. If you’re on the fence about hiring a designer, consider this your sign—LS Design is the way to go. I can’t recommend them enough!

> We were referred to LS Design by our contractors and feel so fortunate we found them. We had them remodel our great room, kitchen and mud room area. They exceeded our expectations and i love the finished product. They are responsive and easy to work with, which honestly is so hard to find these days. They were the only people I enjoyed working with during our renovation. You won’t find a better team. I can’t wait to remodel other parts of my home!

**Comment from LS Design Studio:**

> Thank you so much, Lorraine! We absolutely loved working with you!

**★★★★★ — Jordan Dufault, Feb. 2023**

> We had a wonderful experience working with the team at LS Design on our Kitchen remodel. We let them know what esthetic we were envisioning for the space visually and functionally and they really hit it out of the park. What really stood out to me was their ability to translate our inspiration photos into something that felt like us and our home. This was our first major home project and the team was so supportive throughout the process. Would highly recommend this duo to anyone looking to create a timeless space.

**Comment from LS Design Studio:**

> Thank you, Jordan! Your project is one of our all time favorite transformations.

> I hired LS Design Studio to design my master bathroom and couldn't be happier with the result. Sav and Lilli produce amazing work and I'm constantly inspired by their designs and work ethic. The master bathroom is one of my favorite spaces in my home and I feel like I'm walking into a beautiful Bali/ Mediterranean oasis every time I go in it. What impressed me most was how easy it was to work with them, and that they were willing to take on my project despite the fact that I live in a completely different state so they were unable to do any site checks in person. 10/10 would recommend them!! xoxo

**★★★★★ — Burke Marold, Oct. 2022**

> We hired LS Design Studio to design our laundry room and daughter’s play area. Excellent experience. Great communication and prompt attention to our questions and concerns. Highly recommend. We will be back soon for our next project!

**★★★★★ — Celeste Richman, Aug. 2022**

> We hired Lilli & Sav to help us design our family room, living room, and parts of our master bedroom. We hired them after having a very poor experience with another design studio in the North County San Diego area. We have to say that my husband and I were both very happy working with Lilli & Sav! Both were very responsive, professional, and very easy to work with. One thing we really liked about working with LS is that they both candidly shared their design opinions, even if they didn't necessarily agree with each other, and would explain their thinking independently. This helped my husband and I really sanity check our own preferences to make sure we were confident in our decisions. And even though we weren't their biggest client, they were still very attentive to our project and made us feel really valued. We would 100% work with Sav & Lilli again on our next project!

**★★★★★ — Morgan beach house, Aug. 2022**

> Lilli and Savannah from LS Design studio did a fantastic job designing and managing our recent renovation. What we initially thought was going to be a cosmetic upgrade turned into a whole gut job thanks to asbestos and these girls were up for the challenge! Their style is fresh, clean, and beautiful and we are so pleased with the outcome. They worked within our budget to ensure we received the highest quality products available for the amount we had to spend and were on the job and ready to tackle any challenge that came their way. They are knowledgable on the design and build process and worked in harmony with our existing construction contractor and crew. (LS design came on the job after the contractor was already hired but they have their own available skilled craftspeople as well). These young women are extremely talented and were a real pleasure to work with on this project. We hope to use them again when the need arises!.

**★★★★★ — Kerri D, July 2022**

> LS Design Studio did an amazing job designing our kitchen! It’s fresh and modern, but also timeless and welcoming. They thought of everything from a pullout spice drawer to a beautiful custom hood range. Their attention to details and patience as we navigated handling our contractor’s questions made the whole process as simple as possible. We couldn’t have imagined such a stunning space! I would highly recommend this team!

**★★★★★ — Home makeover, May 2022**

> Lilli and Savannah did an excellent job from start to finish. We could not be happier with the results. They have the ability to see your vision and put it all together without you having to worry about anything. We definitely made the right decision in picking their services!

**★★★★★ — Alexander Nelson, Sept. 2021**

> We hired the ladies from LS Design Studio to help us with our living room, dining room, and patio area of our penthouse in Downtown San Diego. They did nothing short of an incredible job and we are extremely happy with the final result!
>
> From the gecko, their entire process was easy yet very interactive. We gave them our preferred colors, materials, styles, and ideal purposes for each room and they took it all into consideration when making their design presentations. It started with the initial walkthrough/consultation, followed by us sending them our inspiration photos. From there they compiled a presentation with different design options for each room where they blended our inspiration photos we had sent with their expertise. After deciding on our final design choices, they took over completely and handled everything from ordering, delivering, and setting everything up. They stuck to the initial budget we had requested while not cutting any corners. Both Sav and Lilli we're very communicative throughout the process which made the entire experience easier for us.
>
> Safe to say we will be using LS Design in the future!

## Community Q&A

**Q: 42 inch high bar stools** *(in Furniture)*

Extremely high countertop with height of 42 inch. Looking for 2 chairs. Something with a black back or scroll design. Not completely upholstered

A: Hello Beatrice-

The 42" countertop height is actually pretty standard for a wet bar or pub table area and there is a huge selection of bar stools that have a seat height 9"-11" below the counter height. This is the space for your knees to comfortably clear the counter and ideal placement for ergonomics of eating, etc. That seat height measurement is 31"-33". So when shopping, really pay attention to this more than the overall height which is dependent on backless and all manner of decorative backs. Here are some examples of bar stools that are black, not completely upholsted and have a seat height between 31"-33".

**Q: Wallpaper material for bathroom** *(in Home Decorating)*

Working on a new homebuild, and we want to do wallpaper in the first floor bathroom. It is a full bathroom, but the shower won't be used frequently, maybe 3-4 weekends per year, when we have guests staying in the den.

We found a beautiful wallpaper, but I checked with the manufacturer (Graham & Brown) and it's "digital paper" not vinyl, so they do not recommend it for a full bathroom, or in potential splash zones of a powder room. How sensitive is paper wallpaper (as opposed to vinyl) to water/humidity?

I was thinking we could do some kind of panel (ship lap, board & batten, etc) on the bottom half of the walls, which should catch water, say from people getting out of the shower/grabbing a towel. There will be an exterior venting fan in the bathroom as well, and bathroom is about 55 square ft, so it might not get super duper humid?

Alternatively, any suggestions for similar style wallpapers that are vinyl or otherwise water/humidity safe?

A: There are plenty of water/humidity safe wallpaper options out there. However, if you love this one, then go for it! I would suggest you order an extra roll just in case some paper doesn't hold further down the line. If there is adhesion failure, you can easily replace it and ensure you have the same paper dye lot and availabilty. For the amount of use you are expecting, it is a calculated risk. Based on your plan to do paneling improves the performance factor and just make it a habit to remind guests to use the vent. Good Luck!

**Q: A lot of wood already - flooring?** *(in Flooring)*

Hi! My home is rustic. We are replacing the flooring from disgusting carpet to luxury vinyl and I am trying to figure out what to choose. The entire interior is wood. The walls, ceiling, and beams are wood.

Initially, I thought going with a wood floor would make us feel like we are living in a box. But while looking through photos, I do see that people do wooden flooring with wooden interiors.

I have flooring picked out right now that is the same color as the carpet we are getting rid of. But now I am questioning myself. We will have small rugs down, so that could break up the wood if we choose that option.

The walls are the same color, it's the way the light is hitting them. The wall with the picture is accurate. And obviously, it's
not always this bright inside.

Help! And thanks in advance.

A: Hello -

It looks like you may live somewhere cold, and that would make us hesitant to advise on more hard surface flooring. Usually we love wood, LVP, limestone and other hard surfaces, but in this case, taking into consideration the lighting and space, we suggest a high-performance, low-pile carpet. It would be a nice contrast and complement to the rustic, heavy wood finishes. A neutral carpet as a solid foundation will soften and temper the many lines of the planks and beams as well as literally retain some warmth and insulation as will drapes which would be another soft surface to add your design to create balance and harmony. Area rugs with pattern can be used to designate separate living and leisure zones, while a charcoal slate or honed limestone can be more functional when used at the entry area, kitchen and bathroom areas where water and dirt are prevalent factors to consider. Good luck!

**Q: What sconces would you select with Kohler Archer Medicine Cabinet?** *(in The Old House)*

What sconces would you select to go with these Kohler Archer Medicine cabinets and Harken vanity?
This is for our primary bath, so we need them to throw off good light for makeup. Wall space is 72" - and we need 3 sconces. Our style in general is transitional.
Thanks in advance!

A: Here are some options to give you a visual overview of shapes, finishes and scale with your indicated selections. So much depends on what source of natural light is available in the master bath, as well as your flooring and tile selections nearby. This is at least a staring point with some of our favorite bath sconces all from Visual Comfort. Good Luck!

**Q: Thoughts on this mosaic for bathroom floor?** *(in Flooring)*

Hi
we are olanning a renovation of our small master bathroom. The tile store said this tile is appropriate and is sold often for floors. Does anyone have a floor tile like this and can comment on cleaning ? Comfort on feet? Its very pretty, but want to make sure of how practical it will be from others that may have something similar. Thanks

A: Hello -
I don't think any form of mother of pearl is rated as flooring, due to the thin nature of mother of pearl it is susceptible to chipping. This mosaic has plenty of grout lines to make slippage less of an issue, but I think it would feel fairly sharp/rough on bare feet, too. It can be used as a wall tile, however, and it's luminosity and reflective value is gorgeous! I prefer your second option for flooring as the materials are stronger, more durable, with larger pieces and set more flush but still has a lot of movement like your frrst choce. Good Luck!

**Q: Bench or cabinet in entry?** *(in Plumeria)*

What do you think - should I put a bench or a cabinet here in the entryway?

A: Hello -

I think an entry cabinet to drop keys, mail and other entry/exit essentials would be more practical and allows for a better decorative display on top with featured art. A bench is more casual and the space overall is a little more formal from the pictures you shared. You have beautiful arched doors and passageways, so I would suggest looking for something with more straight lines. It is a very pretty space, good luck!
