> This past year (2013) my wife and I renovated our flat in San Francisco. Our contractor recommended we engage Elizabeth Torbit of Torbit Studio to assist us with a wide variety of design-related decisions and supervision. We could not have been more pleased with Elizabeth's fine efforts, which included helping us think through the layout and design of our kitchen and master bathroom. Specifically, Elizabeth provided invaluable assistance with the selection and installation of: kitchen counter tops, cabinet pulls, sink fixtures and backsplash tiles; bathroom tiles, fixtures and floor tiles; carpeting for the hallway and family room adjoining the kitchen; and interior paint colors for the flat, which was completely re-painted. Elizabeth was available whenever her advice and supervision was needed. She is an excellent listener and wise adviser, who combines a keen eye for design with a unfailing commitment to following through, traits which proved especially helpful when dealing with unexpected delays in construction as we did. To anyone seeking the services of a top notch design professional, my wife and I highly recommend Elizabeth Torbit.

> I should note the overall cost of the renovation, but certainly not Elizabeth's fees, exceeded $100,000 (I was asked to list the "project cost" in preparing this review)

## Community Q&A

**Q: Wall tile** *(in Photo Questions)*

Do you know the manufacturer of the shower tile that was used?

A: The 2 X 6 tiles are made by Heath Ceramics color Robin Egg

**Q: Paint - Can you tell me the color paint used here?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: it is custom, by Kerf Design

**Q: Choose the colours of my eiffel chairs for me!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi all,
Put your 2 cents worth in me and tell me what combo of colours I should choose for these lovely eiffel chairs for my kitchen.
I'm going to have 4 chairs around a white table. My kitchen is white, the walls are a very light grey/blue. The blinds have a grey and pink pattern.
I'd love for the majority colours to be pastel, but not too girlie, so if you think olive green or teal would be a good choice to offset the girlieness then great. Something like the colour combination in the photo here. But obviously not so many chairs as that!

Thanks a lot!

A: If you going for Old VS New, Modern VS Classic then .... Green! The green Eiffel chairs will stand up to the deep saturation of the gray walls, seen in your inspiration image. Also green Eiffel chairs (in your inspiration image) are a cooler tone like the gray wall is cooler gray. Do be careful in a small areas, too many different chair colors may look like you couldn't decide which color you liked best. Sticking with one bold chair color in a smaller space will look intentional. If you really want a second color add black to play up the contrast of Color VS Black which will go well with the gray walls too. Good luck and please post images so we can see what you decided. PS since I we don't have an image of your actual space, these suggestions are based on the image you posted.

**Q: Who is the manufacturer of the cabinets?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you tell me if the cabinets were a custom build or off the shelf? This house was redone beautifully. Thanks.

A: Thanks. These cabinets were custom by a furniture/cabinet craftsman.

**Q: Hi where are the chairs from?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Love the chairs

A: I found these in Denmark (circa 1965) and had them shipped to California.

**Q: what is the color on the wall?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The far back wall is Benjamin Moore - Pigeon Gray.
