> Moorea Hoffman at Kitcheneering was the mastermind behind my bathroom and closet re-model. I could never have imagined how beautiful and usable my new spaces are. The bathroom belongs in an art museum -- from the calcite art wall and backsplash to the free-standing, elegant tub to the concrete floor -- it's gorgeous. The shower has a bench, a niche, and a wand. Stunning and practical at the same time. I've lived in this house for 11 years and have never felt so "moved in." Moorea took hours to understand how I live and work, she surveyed my current closet and then designed one custom-made for my life. I travel for work and now have the coolest "packing station" with a ledge for my luggage and hooks for staging my clothes. On the other end of the spectrum I hike and backpack in my time off. Moorea designed spaces for my gear so it is easy to access (no longer in the rafters in the garage). And Moorea knows everyone -- from the tile woman to the stone guy to the cabinet installer. Quality people doing beautiful work. Every time I felt stuck during the project, Moorea had terrific ideas about how to solve it. She is an artist and a tactician -- all in one.

> I consulted Moorea of Kitcheneering for guidance on a paint color scheme for a built in buffet in my dining room. It was a pine piece that had been stained and really needed an update. I knew I wanted to paint the buffet the same color as the kitchen cabinets, but was looking for accent colors for the bead board shelving and the inside of the glass front cabinets. I had an idea of what I wanted, but kept going toward a pastel color theme, due to a fear of going too bold with the colors. I wanted to bring more orange in to my open plan kitchen, dining room and living room to coordinate with the rug in my living room. What she suggested was painting the bead board a navy blue and a bold orange in the glass front shelving units. I have to say the results were stunning! Thank you so much! She was a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend her!

> Moorea is a wonderful designer to work with, she's creative, relevant, and really knows her business. Her kitchens are wonderful centerpieces to the home - beautiful, functional, and just what her clients are looking for!

> With Kitcheneering, we received much more than just a great design. As renovation novices, we were walked through the entire process from assessment to lay out to product selection to installation and final inspection. None of it was overwhelming and all of that felt manageable and in control. Kitchenerring specializes in kitchens for the home chef, and invests in understanding our unique needs and ensuring that the kitchen would be ergonomically sound. There advice about appliances, plumbing, services, and Kapitz was invaluable as were their sources. The project included a powder room and fireplace redesign which was accommodated seamlessly. Work with Kitcheneering and you have a great experience and a great result.

> I worked with Moorea on a couple of custom painted projects for her clients. Moorea is an excellent communicator and knows what she wants which makes it a pleasure to work with her. She is a kind person with a sweet nature, pleasant and always smiling. What I like most about Moorea is her style. She's not over the top and she keeps it classic and tasteful. Moorea always pays me in a timely manner, is organized and respectful of my time. I look forward to more collaborations with her in the future!

> Moorea is the go-to person for kitchen design that incorporates appliances for real cooking as opposed to just show. She does the show part very well but her expertise is making it all work for real cooks. I cook a lot and am grateful that we found Moorea and were able to work with her.

> It's been nearly 3 years since our kitchen remodel, yet not a day goes by when we don't pinch ourselves for being fortunate enough to have had an opportunity to collaborate with Moorea Hoffman to help us in designing a most incredibly beautuful, fuctional, and inspirational work space.
> A friend asked us this weekend if we would have liked an over the stove
> spigot to fill tall pots of water. We explained that we like the clean,
> uncluttered view of our gorgeous, glass-tile back splash and have never
> needed an over-stove spigot because \\we can fill our deepest pots at the
> sink in our island, turn in place, and put the pot on the stove. This
> conversation reminded us of how much pleasure we get from our kitchen. Not once have we wished we would have done this or that. Moorea helped us think of everything beforehand, so not a single detail or practicality was overlooked.
> Not only is it beautiful, everything is in the right place for easy
> cooking, entertaining, and enjoying the adjacent deck. We send our
> heartfelt thanks to Moorea Hoffman at Kitcheneering everyday!

> Amazing abililty. Within a few minutes, Moorea had a whole new take on our project which my husband and I both liked which circumvented the stalemate we had. I would highly recommend this company.

> Moorea Hoffman designed our kitchen from the ground up. She helped us choose appliances, cabinetry and hardware, and even the flooring. The result is a beautiful kitchen that is easy and fun in which to work - not just a showpiece for a magazine shoot. Whether we are entertaining a few friends or dozens of people, preparation, serving, and clean-up are all in the right places at the right times, even when lots of people want to hang with us in the open and inviting kitchen. Three years later, we wouldn't change a thing, and we would recommend Moorea without hesitation.

> My family had the pleasure of working with Moorea on a Kitchen remodel of our beach home in San Clemente. The property is used by 3 generations and she worked with each to balance their priorities and the budget.
>
> The results are amazing! The kitchen is now truly the center of the home, allowing multiple generations the opportunity to work together preparing meals and enjoying each others company.
>
> Choosing Kitcheneering was the best decision we made during our remodel.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Is that some kind of sheet metal between the stone pillars? Thanks!** *(in Photo Questions)*

Love everything about the fireplace. Exceptional design!

A: It's a porcelain tile with the look of metal. I'll see if I can track down the manufacturer.

**Q: LA Bungalow backsplash** *(in Photo Questions)*

Truly insightful. This kitchen would not be nearly as interesting without it. Can you provide information on the product?

A: Thank you. It is the dimensional diamond from Heath Ceramics. We had a lot of fun picking it out!

**Q: Hello** *(in Photo Questions)*

If it's not too much trouble can you please give me some information about the countertop and the flooring.Thank you

A: Hi Anne,

The counter is white Carrera marble. I don't love it for kitchens - too easily stained or scratched (but the homeowner insisted). In fact, the fruit bowl is strategically covering a red-wine ring that happened shortly after installation.
There are several quartz counter companies that make slabs that look as good as this (or nearly so) without the maintenance hassle. My favorite so far is Vadara. Good luck with your project!

**Q: Stools** *(in Photo Questions)*

Curious to know where one might find those stools... thanks!

A: Crate and Barrel

**Q: Countertop material?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Will you please tell us what the countertop is made of and the name?

A: The material is quartzite. The color is White Macaubus. Purchased at MSI stone.

**Q: what are the dimensions of the island?** *(in Photo Questions)*

and the cooking wall from wall ovens to fridge?

A: I am having trouble picturing what you describe - could you send a plan? Typically, the minimal size room for an island is 11 feet wide. You have 2 feet for the counter against the wall, 3.5 feet for the aisle (which is a little tight, I prefer 4 feet) and 2.5 feet of depth for the island (again, this is minimum 36" would be better) with a 3 foot aisle way on the other side. This kitchen has a bit more room - the aisle way is 4 feet and the island 3 feet.
We created storage and counter with the island, leaving the opposite wall empty of cabinets in order to create better flow. The client hung her favorite painting there and loves the kitchen.
