Cornerstone Construction has been building and renovating across Durham Region since 2017. We're a licensed and insured Ontario corporation, WSIB compliant, and owner-operated — Mike Brock is on your job site, not behind a desk.

We specialize in kitchens, bathrooms, basements (including legal and in-law suites), full interior renovations, additions, and commercial fit-ups for offices, retail, and restaurants. We also handle insurance restoration for water, fire, and mould damage, and we manage permits and inspections start to finish.

How we work: every project starts with a free project diagnostic, where we assess the space, scope the work, and give you a fixed price before we begin. That price is locked — materials are ordered early so market swings don't land on your budget. You get one dedicated project manager, daily progress updates, dust barriers and floor protection, and a clean site at the end of every single day. We commit to a completion date in writing and pay you $300 back for every day we run late.

Every job carries a 5-year written workmanship warranty. If something we built fails because of how it was installed, we fix it at no charge — and you finish with an Owner's Manual covering care and maintenance for every material and system we installed.

> Mike is a very experienced contractor who takes pride in his work and his reputation. I hired him to renovate my condo and I am very happy and satisfied with the work he has done. There were many issues that arose during my renovation, such as faulty electrical wiring, walls not being straight, floors not levelled, etc. Mike was always able to come up with a solution to rectify these problems, for which I was grateful. He even made suggestions to reposition stuff differently, to maximize the space in my unit. He is honest, dependable and reliable. Trust me, hire him, you won’t be disappointed.

**Do you offer fixed-price contracts?**
Yes, almost every job we do is fixed-price under a signed contract. That number only moves if you change the scope. It's part of our Price Lock guarantee: we order materials early so a supplier price hike partway through never becomes your problem.

**Is the first consultation free?**
Yes, no cost and no obligation. We walk the space with you and talk through what you want, then put together a scoped, written proposal for you to review. We call this step the project diagnostic.

**How long will my renovation take?**
Depends on the scope: a small job might wrap in about two weeks, a kitchen usually runs three to six weeks, and a bigger addition can take a few months. Either way you get a written schedule and a hard finish date before we start, backed by a $300/day on-time guarantee.

**Do you handle permits and inspections?**
Yes. We submit the plans, pull the permits, and schedule every required inspection so the work is code compliant and properly closed out. You don't need to deal with the municipality.

**What warranty do you provide?**
Five years, in writing, on workmanship. If an installation issue causes a failure, we come back at no cost to you. Warranty calls get a response within one to two business days, and the site visit to assess it costs nothing.
