> Unlike the other reviews, my wife and I had a completely different experience with Galen's service and would NOT recommend him to anyone. We lost a time sensitive building project largely due to Galen's lack of meeting deadlines (measured in multiple weeks not days) and his complete disconnect with the project entirely.
>
> You cannot rely on any of Galen's deadlines or that he will listen to your suggested changes and incorporate those changes into his drawings. It takes multiple revisions and explanations to get those updates meanwhile you are invoiced for his additional time to make those revisions. These missed deadlines and constant reminders caused undue stress and frustration with everyone involved. This ultimately led the builder and developer to completely back out.
>
> The worse part...this ALL ended up costing us over $130K in losses, including losing over $120K in a 1031 exchange, an additional $9K in increased land costs and 6K of incentives we lost from the developer's decision to no longer extend these incentives. We repeatedly tried to communicate what was at stake with Galen but he never expressed a sense of ownership nor did he accept any responsibility. Galen had plenty of opportunities to make it right and do the right thing due to his poor performance - but he chose to collect 100% of his project costs while everyone else lost a lot of money and time.

> We had Galen come over to our house that needed remodeling. Galen was thoroughly professional from the first phone call till we got the proposal. He is a great listener and understood our requirements very well. After the appointment, he provided us a detailed proposal that covered all aspects of the remodel. I was truly impressed with the level of detail he covered in his proposal.
> We would have definitely signed with Galen however due to our timing constraints we couldn't move forward.
> I highly recommend Galen for your architecture needs!

**Comment from Page & Beard Architects PS:**

> Thank you AP! Please give us a call if things change.

> Galen Page, a very positive impression of the way he represents the firm. Galen, has provided us with a detailed plan that captures exactly what we, the customer, have in mind.
> Prior to contacting the firm, a visual inspection of a project that Galen and a contractor have built in our neighborhood, it solidified our confidence that he is the right choice to take on our project.

**Comment from Page & Beard Architects PS:**

> Thank you Cesar! We are looking forward to working with you!

**★★★★★ — bill\_1228, June 2015**

> creative, cooperative; go the extra mile to really understand the client and what they are trying to achieve. worked outstanding with the contractor team to function seamlessly as a team. We had a very enjoyable experience designing and building our home and Page & Beard was the primary reason for it.
> Working with a smaller firm gave us many advantages to get exactly what we wanted and we appreciated the extra effort they went to to insure our satisfaction. Outstanding firm and we highly recommend them.

> We had never done a major remodel let alone built a house, but thanks to Page and Beard we were very successful with the design and building of our vacation home. We interviewed several architects and selected Page and Beard initially because they seemed not only to listen but to read between the lines of what we were trying to express. Our selection was reinforced by their body of work and rave reviews. They saw us through the design process, the selection of our contractor, the engineering, the design review process required by the resort where we built; and all the way through final design selections including material finishes, colors, lighting etc. They came out in snow and sub zero weather and crawled through crawl spaces and attics, they came in the scorching sun to inspect eaves and stonework and put together punch lists for the contractor and stood with us until the very last item was completed. We cannot say enough good things about this firm of talented, honest and hard working architects.

**★★★★★ — rustybh1, July 2014**

> Phenomenal service from this small company of architects. From concept through to completion, this company delivered time after time.
> Even though my project was just a small remodel, they were very attentive, dealing with all issues including permitting through to contractor communications. At no point was I left scratching my head, wondering what was going on.
> I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone.
> Thanks Galen Page and all at Page & Beard!

## Community Q&A

**Q: Garage door manufacturer** *(in Photo Questions)*

Wondering if you could provide any details about the garage doors? Thanks!

A: Hi Stefanie, I am sorry to say that we did not spec those doors and the contractor who did is out of business. The house was built in Prospector's Reach in Suncadia, Cle Elum, WA about 10-15 years ago. They are beautiful doors and I have seen them around since - you may be able to track down a similar door. Sorry I can't be of more help, Annie

**Q: Fireplace question!** *(in Photo Questions)*

This is a nicely proportioned fireplace. Can you tell me what the width of stone on either side of the insert? We are planning to have a 42 inch insert, and don't have a lot of room to play with for the entire fireplace. What is the minimum width for a fireplace with a 42 inch insert? It will be a somewhat rustic stone fireplace .

A: Hello Sadie1jane. The width of the stone on either side is 30". The fireplace is a 42" insert. Hope that helps!

**Q: Siding Paint Colour** *(in Photo Questions)*

I'd love to know, what colour of grey you used to paint the siding? Thanks!

A: Hello Matt. I looked thought the file and it turns out the finishes on that cabin were chosen by the either the builder or the homeowner during construction. We only supplied the plan set on that home. The cabin is in Suncadia in Cle Elum, Washington. Sorry I couldn't be more help. P&B

**Q: Fireplace Stone** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you please tell me the manufacturer of the stone around the fireplace? Also the color? Thank you! :)

A: Can you tell me what the pavers are in this photo? And the color? Thank you!

**Q: Porch dimensions** *(in Photo Questions)*

Could you tell me the dimensions of this porch? Thanks

A: Hi kathryn0249 the porch is 7'-7" x 23'-3"

**Q: What material and color is the hearthstone?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: I believe it is an Elderado Stone. Mt Ledge from what I remember.
