The designer, Marilyn, is talented and creative however, never let her expertise and knowledge surpass my husbands' experience, detail and craftsmanship. She handled difficulties with clients well and professional. Her husband, Randy, is a contractor and skilled carpenter and Tom enjoyed working with him. This particular project I picked to use in this review was a kitchen and bath remodel. Not only was the design perfect, the actual execution of getting the project done was flawless. The team of sub contractors (electrician, plumber, tile, paint, drywall, etc.) that they use were all so very skilled and wonderful to work with. Marilyn and Randy are true professionals in every sense and highly recommend them to anyone. We wanted an island-- but did not know if that was possible in our 1950’s house. Marilyn came to our home and really listened to our thoughts. She offered her ideas but was always open to our wants and needs, as well as how the remodel would fit in with the rest of our house. Randy was prompt and thorough with the demolition and re-construction. He was even able to finish off our fireplace mantel, that adjoined the remodel, in such a way to make it fit in with the entire project. Both had great ideas and were very detailed-oriented professionals. They were able to add a personal touch that was very refreshing; from frequent phone calls to keep us updated, to stopping in one night just to check on the progress of our wood floor. It was little things like this that really impressed us. We never felt pressured to simply go with Marilyn’s ideas, we trusted her judgment on a number of items (like the microwave located in our island and the dark backsplash) and have no regrets. A: The island is a concrete with glass and the perimeter is black granite. **Q: Beautiful floor** *(in Photo Questions)* I see from another comment that this was a custom stain. I have the same cabinets and similar dark granite as your perimeter and have been trying to find a stain color that goes with my kitchen. My (golden oak colored) floors are getting redone next week.
