**★★★★★ — erinosh, Sept. 2016**

> We hired Hart Studio LLC to draw up plans for a first floor remodel and a master suite addition. We really enjoyed working with both Tom H and Tom Z. They were very punctual with deadlines, commitments and all correspondence. They really listened to what are priorities were and how we lived and incorporated our ideas into their plans. They were open minded and didn't show up with an agenda like other architects we interviewed. They worked in unison with our contractor and made their job very easy when it came time to build with very detailed/professional drawings. Both Toms were very respectful of our time and budget needs and flexible with different payment structures which we appreciated tremendously. They presented 3 comprehensive plans for each the addition and remodel and listened to our feedback to ultimately create the final plan. We were very much involved in every and all processes we wanted to be involved in and it really felt like we were a successful team. Keeping with the architectural style of our house was also something they did very well. We would highly recommend hiring Hart Studios if you are looking for quality work and architects who will listen to your needs, concerns and provide an excellent finished product.

**Comment from Hart STUDIO LLC:**

> Thank you for your kind words of support! It was a delight working with you and are glad that you're pleased with the outcome. We're also glad that our approach was accepted by the Landmarks Commission without unnecessary delay. You, the contractor and we made a great team!
> Best Regards, Hart Studio LLC

> We have worked with Tom for more years than any of us would care to admit. He was our architect when we first built our house and has been involved in at least two other significant projects, including one earlier this year. I've always felt that he maintained the highest professional and ethical standards. He listens well, is creative and has an attention to all the details.

**Comment from Hart STUDIO LLC:**

> Thanks Ned! It's been a delight working with you and Holly these many years. I'm glad I've been able to help you as your lifestyle, needs and tastes have evolved.
> Tom Hart, AIA

> Tom Hart designed our house in 1986. Although we have gone through many changes throughout the years, the "bones" of the house remain intact. Our most recent project involved opening up our dining room and replacing our dated stairway to "floating" stairs. We couldn't be happier with the result. Tom and his team were always available to us and professional in every way. We highly recommend Hart STUDIO for any and all of your Architectural needs

> I have an older home (1927) in Park Hill. "Toms" Zavadil and Hart planned and helped execute a complete redesign of the exterior hardscape of my home. They involved me every step of the way - from the initial vision to precise architectural drawings, selection of sub-contractors, and overseeing the construction. I was thrilled with the result of this project, which has given me many years of enjoyment. I have continued to work with Hart Studio on the redesign of the interior rooms of my house, from which I have enjoyed similar satisfaction and results. A particular strength of their work rests on an appreciation of the original beauty of so many of the older homes in Park Hill. Their M.O., as I understand it, is to integrate the form and function of additions or improvements to a home in a manner that builds on the original beauty of the home, often revealing it in a startling new dimension.

**Comment from Hart STUDIO LLC:**

> Bob,
> We appreciate your kind thoughts! Working with you over the years has been our pleasure. It was especially gratifying to see your lovely home featured on the Park Hill Garden Tour.

> Our kitchen remodel was anticipated for a long time, during which we visited with several architects. Hart Studio stood out from initial contact. The partners, Tom Hart and Tom Zavadil, were warm, receptive, great listeners, and familiar with older homes and historic landmark requirements. They were forthcoming with examples and referrals that allowed review of their work.
> During the design process, they took time to understand our vision for the kitchen, how we hoped to use it and how it would relate to the rest of our home, as well as what obstacles in the existing kitchen we were hoping to overcome. They offered several designs and then worked with us to refine the one that best met our needs and captured our vision. They were patient and thorough in the process and totally receptive to our input while also assuring we were informed about structural, code, and design elements that affected the project. They made us feel like members of a design team with them and helped us be well prepared so as to avoid change orders. Their plans were exceptional, saving time in the landmark review and building permit processes and serving as an excellent guide for all trades involved in the construction. As a result, a dated and dysfunctional kitchen, breakfast room, hallway and entry landing were redesigned into one large, functional kitchen that is a delight to work in and live with, as well as a much improved laundry. Among the unique features of our new kitchen is incorporation of an antique stove that has been in my husband's family for 3 generations. The project included a small addition to accommodate a stairwell. This enabled pulling the other space together into a large, open kitchen.
> We made all decoration decisions, including flooring, countertops, lighting, plumbing fixtures, paint, cabinets, appliances, tile, etc. Hart Studio was very supportive of our interest in that activity and offered many resources and contacts that helped us choose materials. Throughout the process, they continued to be available to offer guidance when asked, to assure work was consistent with design, and to offer support as we lived through a 9 month project. Their expertise and ability to collaborate with the contractor and trade professionals helped resolve unanticipated structural concerns that arose during the project.
> We were very "hands on" during the project, overseeing daily activities, but during a vacation out of the country, were comfortable knowing Hart Studios was monitoring the project.
> The architects budget was clear and reasonable and they were very accessible to meet with us as the design was worked out, and with us and the contractor as the project proceeded. I feel it was the relationship with Hart Studio that most eased the traumas encountered in this major remodel event.
>
> The attached photos offer an idea if the amazing transformation of our kitchen.

> Hart Studio is the architectural firm we hired for the addition of a room in our home. This is the second time we've worked with Hart Studio; they also designed our basement remodel several years ago which included a bedroom, family room and bath - quite extensive.
> Our new addition, though relatively small, will be a very interesting room. Tom Zavadil of Hart Studio took our wish to create a fun and light space and came up with what is a remarkable room. It will include high ceilings, a delightful loft space for our grandchildren, and a cozy reading nook - all part of a light-filled sitting room just off our present first floor family room. Tom's attention to detail in his plans & drawings as well as his observations during construction have made this experience painless. He brought all the details that make our home unique - moldings, windows, exterior details - to the new addition; it will appear to be a part of the original home when completed. He has consistently listened to our concerns and ideas - from our first meetings and right through construction. And he communicates well with not just us but the construction firm, too. He's really made this complex "little" addition simple for us. And BTW - he has a great sense of humor!

> We hired Tomas Hart for our kitchen remodel and couldn't be happier with the results. He came up with 5 plans, and worked with us to take the best of each plan to develop our final plan. The results are incredible! We love our new kitchen and continue to get compliments on it. He truly listened to us and adapted according. He was extremely professional and a please to work with.

> We hired Tom Hart and Hart Studio LLC to draw plans for a basement remodel. During the course of our working together, we were very pleased with their creative and practical design and use of space, their helpful guidance on functional and aesthetic design considerations, and with their ability to listen to our project needs and goals and create a design layout that fit well with both. Tom Hart and his firm were also readily accessible to address issues and challenges that inevitably came up during the project. Overall, we were happy with the quality and timeliness of their work and would not hesitate to use them again on a future project.

**★★★★★ — ksmoulton, Aug. 2013**

> Hart Studio listened to our wishes and incorporated them into a plan that completed our home. The new elements blend well with other parts of the home and created spaces that are more efficient, improve traffic flow and connect the house with the outdoors.
>
> The drawing for our renovation were very detailed, which helped us prepare for construction and get accurate bids. Several contractors remarked they enjoyed working on projects designed by this architecture studio.
>
> Our project remodeled rooms on main and upstairs levels, including new kitchen, family room, bonus room, laundry and bedrooms and bath, and additions of entry, mudroom and breakfast nook .
>
> The architects visited our construction site on a regular basis and were available to evaluate revisions or problems. We were impressed with the quality of homes and the variety of design styles that are represented in the projects featured on their website.
>
> We will use them again.

> I have been fortunate to do 4 large projects with Hart Studios over the past 12 years. We have a 105 year old historic Arts & Crafts home in Park Hill as well as a mountain home in Evergreen built in the 70's.
>
> Two projects that Hart Studios designed for our Park Hill home were a historically accurate addition including exactly matching recycled brick and exterior style, including rafter tails, bead board and other architectural feature as well as a cozy interior that exactly matches the woodwork, flooring, doors etc while embracing modern electrical, plumbing and kitchen appliances.
>
> We also did two major projects with Hart Studios at our mountain house where we shifted gears from historical restoration from the turn of the past century to a project where we embraced the 70's with far more modern design, which completed this past spring.
>
> Hart Studios are great collaborators who don't stop until every detail is fully finessed. Our contractor (BOA) loves working with Hart Studios because of their creative design and the quality of their drawings that anticipate issues. Two of the 4 projects we have done exceed $500,000 budget.
>
> Hart Studios gets it, does their homework, are willing to embrace both historic and modern design, and are just nice people to deal with and partner with. I recommend them 100% and look forward to our 5th project in 2019.

**★★★★★ — schmannie, July 2013**

> We hired the Hart Studio when we needed an architect to help us with our expansion/remodel plans. While we had a basic idea of what we wanted, Tom Hart really brought the project to life. He listened to what we wanted, asked questions regarding how we wanted to use the space and made sure it would fit in with the existing structure of the house. Tom was extremely easy to work with, creative in his ideas, responsive to our questions, always met deadlines and really guided us through the entire project. Tom did an exceptional job of tying in the old part of the house with the new part so it looked seamless, which was very important to us. It was a big project and could easily have been overwhelming but with Tom's help it was very manageable. We were thrilled with how the project turned out and would highly recommend the Hart Studio. If we ever do another project like this, we would hire Tom Hart and the Hart Studio again, without hesitation.
