> I have worked with Marc Russell on several of my design projects and highly recommend them as a great source for furniture, lighting, artwork and accessories. They offer a great selection and pricing. I can always count on seeing items that are trending as well as more classic contemporary pieces. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and professional.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Help! I need help with my seating layout!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I just went through a remodel, and I love the ease and uncluttered look of my new "coastal" interior...but I have never been satisfied with the layout in the living room. Anyway I put the seating furniture, it never seems to be just right. I will have some bold grey and white striped curtains flanking the space when they are done, but other wise...this is the best I've got. Please advise!
Big, big thanks!

A: I wouldn't worry about more seating if you have a large family room. Good luck!

**Q: Laminate or hardwoods?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Taking out carpet in the upstairs. I want moderate priced flooring for bedrooms

A: Hardwood. Always!

**Q: Need some decorating advice!!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We recently moved and this is our "bare bones" living room. We obviously need a lot still, but I'm wondering what you would do as far as pillows and accent colors in the room, as well as what you would put behind the couch? Gallery wall? We aren't big art people...
Surrounding rooms are the blue color in the rug and gray and there are some pops of a deep coral. Thanks for the help!!!

A: The leather sectional is cold, needs to be warmed up with pillows. I would put a sofa table behind the sectional and lamp it. This way you won't have to use the awful ceiling fixture. Since your not into art, choose sculptural pieces. They have depth and dimension, and aren't flat on a wall. Easy on the print art with thin frames, looks cheap. Good luck!

**Q: New chair! Now what rug/pillows?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I bought this cute chair but i don't think the rug goes. The couch is dark brown leather. Should I go solid or print rug?

A: Much better. Cocktail table needs to be scaled correctly. A kidney pillow for the chair would be great. Good luck!

**Q: help me make this color work!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

attached are some pictures of my family room. it is a great space - it is very open and well lit. its one flaw is the wall color. its a little too "earth tone" for my tastes. ideally, i would repaint it a light gray or very light beige and pair it with some sleek, modernish furniture. that being said, i really don't want to repaint it because it would be very pricey. with that in mind, does anyone have any idea photos where someone has successfully paired relatively modern furnishings / rungs with a more conservative color like these walls?

as an aside, i am going to be switching the wood spindles out for iron spindles. i am also going to be getting rid of the brass knobs on the cabinet doors and replacing them with oil-rubbed bronze knobs.

thanks in advance!!!

A: Skip the modern, go with transitional.

**Q: Dried flowers as decor** *(in Design Dilemma)*

What's your take on having dried flowers around the house? Do you hate it? Love it?

Tell us your thoughts about having dried flowers around your home and let us know why you are for it, or against it. As always, photos are welcomed!

A: Very Holly Hobby. Meh..
