We cover floors with 1/4” plywood and vacuum clean during and after the construction. We keep all of our major cutting tools / saws in the box truck so to keep dust to a minimum. No cutting inside your house or in the garage (with the exception of minor cutting to remove existing trim boards). THINGS TO CONSIDER: When deciding who to select for your cabinetry project there are four major items to consider. \#1\_\_\_Make sure you get a to scale design showcasing your project with the exact moldings and details. We do professional cad drawings that show the exact molding, crown, base, door stile, etc \#2\_\_\_You need a control color sample made for you. Every job we do we make (3) 4” x 8” color blocks - One is for you and the other are for our records. You will need this to compare color or if we are doing a match you need this to make sure the color is correct. You will sign off on the color sample. \#3\_\_\_Make sure to visit the custom cabinet shop. See where they build, see finish room, materials, etc. Your custom built cabinetry will be built, painted / stained offsite at our custom shop. \#4\_\_\_Lastly you need a detailed quote explaining cabinet features, specs, finish process and terms of contract. There have been many changes in the industry but one thing that never changes is the need for reliable, quality craftsmanship at a competitive price. The boxes themselves were well made. Some delays due to wrong measurement of boxes which had to be remade. > \*Dark stain finish to island had issues with severe blushing (whitish film), white flecks of scattered paint and variations to finish, some parts looked painted and other parts looked stained. > \*Missing piece of crown molding > \*cracks in finish on piece of crown molding. > \*unfinished cabinet wall. > Johnson's Cabinets were made aware of the issues multiple times. The owner agreed to fix the doors/drawers to the island which then came back worse. We had the supplier for the finishing product meet us and the owner of Johnson's Cabinets at our home and he said the blushing was from an improper application, in order to fix it the doors and drawer fronts would have to be remade and finished. . The owner agreed to remake and refinish. We have been told on multiple occasions that the doors and drawers are made and just need to be stained but they are very busy with orders and moving shop, etc. and weren't sure when they could get to it. The owner has now stopped answering all forms of communication. After he had carefully walked us through each selection for each cabinet and finish, he created a sample door for us in each style and finish to ensure that we were pleased with the selection before he made the cabinets. The cabinets are beautiful and his attention to detail at the installation was amazing. He personally supervised the job to ensure it was done to specification. Once the flooring was installed (and it is beautiful as well) he had it covered completely with not just the usual craft paper but with a sturdier cardboard to protect it. Each cardboard piece was taped down on all sides so it wouldn't come up during the installation of the cabinets. As a result we had no damage to the beautiful hardwood floors as the home was completed. The cabinets were ready exactly when he said they would be. Upon installation, he found several things to tweak that we didn't even see and stayed with the job until every detail was done to perfection. We were amazed at his level of care. The kitchen cabinets are exceptionally beautiful and we always get compliments on them when people come to our home.
