Ryan came highly recommended by a neighbor and after interviewing several contractors, we decided to go with his company. This was the best decision we could ever have made. This guy is amazing! > What makes him so good? Ryan has a great artistic eye and cares passionately about quality. In addition, he is incredibly hard working, honest, and reliable. Ryan's estimates were on the money and the standard of his work incredible. We ended up with 2 bathrooms that we are practically living in because they are so beautiful. (And Ryan did take them both down to the studs so it was a major undertaking.) Ryan is both creative (offering up lots of ideas for us to consider) but he is precise in all he does and all measurements were accurate/walls level and smooth/corners met perfectly/mitering excellent etc. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and was worried we might end up with work that had small flaws -this was not a concern with Ryan. My husband and I viewed the work each night and occasionally I'd see a tiny imperfection such as the end of a shelf in a nook looked a little dull. What was amazing about Ryan was that before we even had chance to mention something, he'd have already addressed it, in the case of the little shelf, polishing the edge. In other words, this is someone who truly cares and will invest the effort it takes to get things looking amazing. And he does this not because someone nags him but because he takes pride in his work. > > In the guest bath, among everything else, we replaced a bath with a Steam shower and Ryan was meticulous about waterproofing and angles of ceiling etc. In addition, we had a stacked laundry system in this bathroom and it originally had a pretty ugly folding door. I had come across a door idea that I liked for 2 screen doors. I showed the picture to Ryan one day and the next he bought some wood and built the doors. We tried fabric for the screens but in the end decided we would prefer pierced metal and bought some stainless steel mesh that is really pretty and used that (it coordinates nicely with some very cool mesh metal pendant lights). The red washer/dryer peep through the screen doors and just add to the cool looking bathroom. We also put in heated floors which are so cosy. > > In the Master bath, Ryan did a wonderful job of tiling the walls with large scale tiles, adding in Caeserstone shelving, tiling the floor with two sizes of 'wood look' tile, and installing new cabinets. Ryan also did all the plumbing, dry wall etc and it was meticulous. And it wasn't just us that was impressed with his work. When the sliding glass door company came to measure they said you never see accurate measurements top to bottom on walls like this. Similarly, the building permit inspector also appreciated the quality, offering the ultimate accolade: 'I should get him to do some work for me!' > > We wanted to get rid of our little mirrored medicine cabinets on the return walls in the Master bath and Ryan suggested he could build some cabinets for us and have white wood doors that would 'disappear' into the walls and make the bathroom look calmer. We really liked how these turned out. They allow the giant silhouette lighted mirror to be the centerpiece above the double vanity. > > This guy is so good at what he does that when the job ended, we almost had withdrawal symptoms! We started to wonder what else we could have him build! > > Oh, and Ryan dealt with all the permitting and organized for the countertop people to come etc which was a big help. Ryan does use additional labor but his helpers are also good and Ryan supervises all that they do so quality is ensured. > > Lastly: it is rare to come across someone who is so honest, reliable, good to work with and talented to boot. A: Hi Joel, Thanks, The redwood is con heart which is a tier 2 redwood below clear heart. I saved the best pieces for the bench / storage. I used penofin transparent redwood sealer. 2 coats. **Q: need help with hallway transition to master bath** *(in Design Dilemma)* this hallway and my master bath both had ugly 80's green carpet removed. boyfriend surprised me and replaced hallway carpet with this grey tile. grey hallway leads to master bathroom which needs tile now. not sure how to keep the flow and use yet another different tile in master bath. Other side of hallway is main entrance, kitchen and dining room, (around 2800 sf.) all have rust colored tile shown in pic. i am in love with this white marble/wood grain tile. will it work of my master bath? A: I love the simple and clean look of a schluter profile in flooring applications. They make a wide variety of finished edges, and are pretty common.
