A: Yes, it can be outdoors.

I want to buy several but am wondering if they will crack is left on a covered porch in harsher winters.

A: They are ceramic-made and the glaze responds to temperature changes by contracting in freezing conditions, causing possible crazing and eventually eroding. The pot is not frost proof. Use it at your own risk.
