**★★★★★ — Gretchen McLeod, March 2018**

> They make you feel that you and your project are extremely important to them. They want to make sure you get the right piece of granite for your project. When I redid my kitchen 4 years ago, I was not familiar with GARPA. As of now, it is the only place I would recommend. They are fabulous!

**★★★★★ — Emrich Designer Kitchens and Bath, Dec. 2016**

> Cindy is absolutely wonderful to work with. Garpa has a great selection and the staff is very knowledgable and helpful. As a leading Kitchen and Bath designer, the stone, marble and quartz we utilize has to be of the highest standard and the only place to shop for this material is Garpa.

**★★★★★ — tkbga, Oct. 2016**

> Garpa has a wonderful selection of product. But more importantly they are wonderful to work with. Cindy was very helpful, and was very quick to understand just what we were looking for. We are from out of the area and visited another similar business nearby, and had a less than desirable experience. We strongly recommend Garpa! -- Karen and Tom Shade

> GARPA was great to work with and provided some great looking granite for our new house. They were very friendly and helpful as we were allowed all the time we needed to explore their warehouse along with them to assist us. They had a very wide variety of granite slabs to choose from. We were allowed to choose specifically which slabs we wanted to use in our house.
> Attached a couple photos of our kitchen, but we also used their granite in most of the rest of the house. Aside from kitchen, in three bathrooms, a laundry room, and on closet island.
> I highly recommend GARPA.

**★★★★★ — Sid Gray, Sept. 2016**

> Garpa CO - has an incredible selection of natural stones and granite.. Humberto and his staff are really on top it & will work very hard to find the ideal choice for your home. If you are looking for just that one, exact piece that will work in your home, go no further than with Garpa.

**★★★★★ — lisa furey interiors, Sept. 2016**

> I have worked with a few stone suppliers in SC and Georgia. By far, Garpa exceeds expectations. Cindy went above and beyond to help me out by sending photographs of slabs when I could not get to the showroom and Garpa has a wide selection at all price points. I will happily continue to work with them as a trusted stone supplier.

**★★★★★ — brian2444, Sept. 2016**

> I purchase 90% of the stone counter tops we provide at Oliver Kitchen and Baths from Garpa Co. Always supreme quality at the best prices around.

**★★★★★ — Daniel Brown, Sept. 2016**

> Excellent product, excellent price, excellent service. I would recommend you visit his stoneyard before going anywhere else. Located very close to downtown.

**★★★★★ — sewingct, Aug. 2016**

> Great selection of slabs! But what really stands out is the service. Cindy doesn't stand over your shoulder but is there when you need her. After 2 visits she said she knew what I wanted and it was coming in the next week. When I went back she was right.

**Comment from GARPA CO. House of Natural Stone:**

## Community Q&A

**Q: Super white quartzite issue! Help.** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We had a beautiful slab of super white quartzite installed on our perimeter and island. The fabricator measured wrong and cut our island too small! Since I knew my island was being replaced I did some testing. I spilled red wine and let it sit for an hour or so. No etching and no staining. Our perimeter is similarly in perfect condition. The fabricator found us a new slab that matched in color (after several rejected slabs). We have had the new island top for about 2 week and I have noticed hazy rings. The fabricator said they look like condensation rings from a bottle of wine (we haven’t had any wine bottles sitting on the island). They said try acetone, which we did to no avail. They then said they would send a tech "as a courtesy"-basically they are doing us a favor. I didn't get marble, which I love, because I didn't want to deal with etching and staining! We are pretty meticulous and clean up spills promptly. My original slab didn’t have these issues and they are the ones who made the mistake forcing us to get a new slab. Appreciate any thoughts or advice. I note that this top does have a different texture (the veins kind of glow). My perimeter does not do this nor did the original island top. You can only see these spots in certain angles and in certain lighting. They are just dull rings but from other angles the same spot looks shiny. The big halo near the edge was there the day they installed it. I have post its all over the island noting the rings. We have about 5 now and we barely use the island! Do I have a right to say that this stone is not the same quality as the original and they need to replace again? It was really hard to find a match and I already feel like I settled on this slab (it’s pretty but not as nice as the original). I think this slab came from a neighboring state!

A: There is NO such quartzite called Super white, this is a true marble. The exact name is Dolomaitte Marble ( that means, it contains Magnesium and it does not mean it makes it hard).
The majority of fabricators sell this material as Quartizite erroneous.

**Q: what is the name of this pattern?** *(in Photo Questions)*

looking for granite for counter top

A: Hi There,
This granite is called Crema Bordeaux. Has a variation of brown, burgundy and creme. We also have this material available at Garpa warehouse. See picture attached. Let me know if you have any question

**Q: Quartz countertops and silicosis** *(in Design Dilemma)*

From today's NY Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/02/business/popular-quartz-countertops-pose-a-risk-to-workers.html
As
sleek “engineered stone” countertops grow in popularity, safety experts
are warning that workers who handle them are at particularly high risk
from an old workplace hazard — silica, the mineral tied to silicosis, a debilitating and potentially deadly lung disease.
The
countertops are made from processed quartz, a material containing
silica levels as high as 90 percent, or twice the amount found in
marble.
When
slabs of engineered stone are cut and finished to fit a kitchen or
bathroom, large quantities of silica particles are released. If workers
inhale them, it can start a process leading to silicosis as well as to
lung cancer and kidney disease.

A: This problem will soon become a class action lawsuit against the manufactures and fabricators
