### Reviews

**★★★★★ — Ann Rosenkoetter, April 2023**

> We hired Nicole to help us remodel two bathrooms. Nicole allowed us to explore all the options before moving forward with the design. Nicole quickly helped us narrow down the selections for everything from lighting, paint colors, to the flooring. Nicole also was able to pull selections we would have not chosen given the vast choices you have when you’re visit a flooring and tile shop. Selecting items online was the same experience as Nicole narrowed in to which items we needed for our project and gave us a few great choices.
>
> When we ran into problems with the work quality of our contractor and Nicole found us excellent individual vendors to get the job completed. We even found an incredible painter through Nicole who came and painted nearly half our house after our bathrooms were done!
>
> I appreciated Nicole took our ideas and pulled them together verses designers that will only give you their vision. Nicole is calm, patient, and responsive from start to finish.

**★★★★★ — chepaolita, March 2023**

> I would highly recommend Nicole. She is practical, listens and makes stellar recommendations. Her contract is clear and you get exactly what you sign for - which is much appreciated. We are beyond pleased with our complete gut remodel especially our kitchen , the new layout of the downstairs - she recommended dividing our old dining room into 3: a front office , a mud room and a pantry for the kitchen. Remarkable transformation worth every penny. We wouldn’t redo any of it.
>
> If you’re doing any kind of reno, and especially for those renovating an old home - I can not recommend her enough.

**★★★★★ — Juan Soto, Dec. 2022**

> Nicole designed and procured all the materials for our NOW lovely half bath. The project included custom vanity along with specific light elements. In addition, she advised on a stair and fireplace remodeling.
>
> Will hire Nicole again as she went above and beyond to get the idea to live!

**★★★★★ — Neil Schroeder, March 2022**

> Nicole completely revolutionized my home in Austin, so much so that I’m planning to work with her remotely from Washington DC on my new home! I absolutely would not accept anyone else.

**★★★★★ — Kate L, March 2022**

> I am thankful that my husband found Nicole to help with the kitchen remodel. I have a supporting beam in the kitchen counter pathway, so limited in options. But Nicole suggested moving the sink and dishwasher to the island and opening up the space. I would not have thought to do that. I had a problem and she provided a solution that worked. I will definitely work with Nicole in the future and recommend her expertise.

**★★★★★ — Leigh Choate, Feb. 2022**

> We did a remodel of our whole house including flooring, interior painting, stairs, fireplace, bathrooms, kitchen, and bedroom.
>
> Nicole helped us make quick work of all our major decisions, and immediately impressed me with her knowledge of building, functionality, and her amazing ideas. One of my big pain points was the laundry room/entry from the garage to our house. We use this space every day and it was just not performing for us.
>
> She came up with innovative ideas that hit the nail on the head from the beginning. I would have never imagined what she proposed, and it works perfectly. She took into account things like plumbing being moved (or not), load-bearing walls (or not), and even where we would hang hand towels in the powder room.
>
> She worked with our contractor on the plans and they turned her vision into reality.
>
> While I'm a decisive person, I was quickly overwhelmed with decisions about flooring, colors, tile... She helped narrow down choices and gave honest, helpful input on my ideas and selections. I do not think I could have survived even the initial set of selections without her help.
>
> Along the way, she also gave input on countertops, vanity selection, stain for the stair rails -- from the vision to the details, she was a huge help.
>
> We also enlisted her to help with furniture arrangement and selection, which was very helpful. She steered us away from some low-cost vendors (for items we will actually use daily), but also helped us stay within our budget. She made initial selections, then met us at a large furniture store that she trusts to understand our likes, dislikes, etc. Again, her input was invaluable on fabrics, possible issues with wear, and colors. She helped us keep scale in mind, and created a mood board for each of the rooms we asked her to help with; that really helped us get and stay on the same page.
>
> I recommend ALWAYS hiring a designer for any remodeling project, even if you think you "know" design. Even if you think you are a decisive person. Even if you have a very clear vision in your head about what the end product should look like. Nicole gave us incredible insights and advice.
>
> Nicole was attentive, informative, responsive, and is cool, calm, and collected -- all traits we were glad to have on our team as we worked through this project. She asked good questions, listened, and was flexible when it came to our budget.
>
> At the end of the day, hiring Nicole was the most impactful and helpful decision we made for this massive, 2.5-month project. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for the perfect blend of functionality and good design.
>
> I have really enjoyed working with Nicole and will continue to refer people to her. I literally would have had no idea how to get all this stuff done and I'm continuously impressed by the breadth and depth of her knowledge not only about design but functionality and construction. She was a godsend.

**Comment from Prompt 2 Design:**

> Thank you Leigh! I have enjoyed working with you and Dayne and look forward to seeing the finished project...as I am sure you are as well!

**★★★★★ — Gail, Nov. 2021**

> I was looking for a new home office space and Nicole created a fantastic room that fits my needs perfectly. Not only is it completely functional but is also a cool art space containing pieces that add color and life to the space. I now have her helping me with a second room remodel and am excited to see her plans and eventual completion. I highly recommend her!

**★★★★★ — HU-945966420, Oct. 2020**

> We undertook a major home remodel project this year and were faced with making an overwhelming number of decisions on the materials we would use throughout the house. After researching several local designers, we engaged Prompt 2 Design to help us with selecting materials. From our first meeting and throughout the process, Nicole was always very professional, creative, and responsive. There were very few selections she brought to us that we didn't end up using in the end. And when we talked to her about our plans for the kitchen, she offered great options we hadn't considered for changes that would assure we were maximizing our enjoyment and use of our new kitchen. Nicole has great insight and vision for pulling all the pieces together to create an amazing finished product. We appreciated her direction, guidance, and involvement in our home remodel project!

**★★★★★ — Charlene D, April 2020**

> It was a pleasure working with Prompt 2 Design. Nicole provided us with the perfect combination of style, comfort and affordability. Her modern design added an ambiance to our living room that works well for both formal and informal living. I highly recommend Prompt 2 Design for your interior design needs.

**★★★★★ — Doloras Kelley, Dec. 2017**

> Nicole listened to my request and located the product discussed for my counter tops. She was conscientious about price and always offered move than one pricing option for my consideration.
> Nicole is hard working, fun to be with and very talented with her design
> choices.
> Nicole was available to me at any time to answer questions or discuss the best choice for the appliances chosen.
> I found Nicole to be honest with her pricing. An itemized receipt was sent to me and a refund for the money that was requested upfront to start the design project.
> All work professionals were honest and had the highest credentials.
> Nicole hired all work professionals and handled any issues that arouse.
> I was not inconvenienced in any manner and I have the kitchen of my dreams.

**★★★★★ — John Gallagher, Aug. 2013**

> I met Nicole at one of Austin's Home and Garden shows several years back. I was an attendee with the local NARI chapter. I would watch Nicole engage with the people at the show in a very professional manner. A few months later I had a customer come to my store and told me they were working with Nicole and ask me if I knew her.
> Nicole did a great job with this customer and then the coordination that Nicole showed dealing with all the trade kept the project running smoothly (which rarely happens with managing several trades).
> I hope to work with her in future, she is smart and really listens to get her customers input while being able to guide them in the right direction for their lifestyle, not Nicole's.

**★★★★★ — dguerrero61, July 2013**

> Nicole with Prompt 2 Design was very professional, courteous and very knowledgeable in her field of design. Our customers love the new look she incorporated at our new place.

  - Description: This project took course in phases over 3 years. During the first phase we reworked the floorplan to convert one really small bedroom to an office/guestroom with a murphy bed which allowed me to expand the 2nd bedroom into a larger room with an entire closet wall of storage. The 2nd phase was to convert the loft into a functional space to include storage, a place to hang out, and then another home office. During this phase COVID hit, and now the homeowner needed a work from home office vs a work…

  - Description: Unfourtantly this bathroom remodel was forced due to a water heater bursting in the attic. Fortunately, the client reached out for help on how to extend his budget, but get a look that was more his style. We kept the original floorplan and bathtub! By tiling the entire window wall and the apron front tub, it visually makes the shower appear larger along with a few other designer tricks!

  - Description: This primary bathroom was ready for a remodel. The client was ready to maximize storage and update the space. We added storage by replacing the existing vanity with all drawers and a countertop tower cabinet to hold toothbrushes and other daily items. Installing medicine cabinet mirrors also allowed for additional untapped storage. The dust catching garden tub was removed to allow the shower to expand a few inches both ways, yet allow for a make up vanity to be in it's place. By keeping the show…

We took this dated brown home to a an updated contemporary home that better fit my clients style who loves teals and blues. My job was to make sure the home looked stylish and sophisticated with color. Reworking the kitchen was a challenge by maximizing the existing footprint and adding much more function to the space. ## Community Q&A

**Q: What color sofas??** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I need to adios the red sofas. Color suggestions for something more neutral? We have kids and pets. Thx!

A: Because they are not centered with the fireplace it looks awkward and tight. I still recommend an L-shape leather sectional on your existing rug with various red throw pillows, with a red fabric round ottoman and red drapery flanking the fireplace. The sofa will allow for enough seating, the drapery will warm-up that back wall and help keep the room from feeling too vertical. Good Luck!

**Q: need help with a front portico in front of double doors with beveled glass inserts and sidelites** *(in Design Dilemma)*

i don't have the doors yet but, I think 3/4 beveled glass doors would be stunning. I was told i would need to put a front portico of some sort up to protect the glass inserts. Please look at the house and let me know what would work here. Thanks loads and i am glad i found this site:-)

A: We custom make every stained glass window to fit your existing doors and/or windows. Most of the pre-manufactured doors with stained glass come from overseas and usually only in a brass finish, and your limited in design options. What we usually do is bond the stained glass panels to your existing doors/windows on the interior side of the glass. This allows for the clear pane of glass to take any impact from the exterior elements. What most customers do is buy a door style/finish as desired and we design the glass to fit the existing.

Another idea is if you would like to keep your existing doors, you could always have the top and bottom center panels cut out and replaced with stained glass. I didn't notice at first, but the diamond shaped glass you have in the bay windows would go great with picture I had attached!

Please give me a call or send me an email if you have anymore questions or to further discuss how we make and install the stained glass panels.

**Q: I have quite large windows and a contempory flair. Stumpped on window treatments, Help please.** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I have quite large windows and a contempory flair. Stumpped on window treatments, Help please.

A: 1\. you should consider window tint to reduce UV rays that will fade your flooring and furniture. Check out scottishwindowtinting.com. They have clear just for UV protection or you can get darker with color to reduce the heat. Their film has a lifetime warranty because it is not applied with an adhesive, which makes film bubble. - Nicole

**Q: I am looking for ideas for the transom windows in my bedroom. My intent was to do nothing but in the spring and summer it is like the middle of the afternoon at 6:00 A.M.** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I am looking for ideas for the transom windows in my bedroom. My intent was to do nothing but in the spring and summer it is like the middle of the afternoon at 6:00 A.M.

A: Stained Glass! There are so many options with stained glass. You can even do a variety of textures with out color. Stained glass allows the natural light in (the purpose of transoms) but adds character to the room. Check out Scottish Stained Glass http://www.scottishstainedglass.com They have designers that will work with you to create the custom look that suites your style and needs. - Nicole

**Q: I have never liked our mantel. It just doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions? pictures are (with furniture) and middle (under construction)** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I have never liked our mantel. It just doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions? pictures are (with furniture) and middle (under construction)

A: I agree with removing the mantel. Hang a nice piece of art in its place. I also recommend adding an eyeball light centered over the fireplace to light the artwork.
