A curated collection of "cabinet jewelry" we're in love with

A unique cabinet hardware company inspired by our love of 3 different little dogs, exotic places, food, wine and beauty in everything.

How we became Inspire Hardware
During our many renovations projects spread across Los Angeles, Chicago and now Seattle, we scoured home décor stores for unique cabinet hardware that we loved, would last, and would be functional.

We were left admiring pieces we could not afford and feeling like we had to settle for the ordinary. Bespoke cabinet pulls were out of reach, but big-box stores offered only generic style and underwhelming quality.

Unwilling to settle, we searched the globe for cabinet hardware that speaks to us. Our obsession to surround ourselves with inspirational home finishes that are functional, beautiful, durable, and affordable quickly evolved into Inspire Hardware.

Why Inspire Hardware?

With a trusted network of suppliers, we can source handles and knobs from across the world, with fast shipping within the US.

Our bespoke services can help you find or create a unique handle for the perfect finishing touch.

As a small business run by a husband and wife team, we strive to provide great customer service and attention to detail.

Our easy returns policy gives you peace of mind.

Let's work together to bring your vision to life!

> Finally! A company that understands the importance of finding just the right embellishments for your home without compromising quality! Not only did Inspire Hardware assist us in selecting just the right pieces for our cabinets but the final product we chose is durable and doesn't feel like just another "off the shelf" purchase. The quality is apparent in each handle and we feel confident they will be able to take the abuse of our guests (ha!) while maintaining the exact design we had in mind for the space. Highly recommend this company/brand!

## Community Q&A

**Q: Single-again clueless man needs help** *(in Design Dilemma)*

This is a shout out to all of my Houzz friends who helped and are helping me so graciously with my apartment. You are not done with me yet! : )

When I opened Houzz the other day, my post and all of your comments were gone. I sent a message to Houzz and haven’t heard back yet.

All to say, I didn’t want you to think I skipped town (unless you are with law enforcement or a bill collector.)

I can’t thank you all enough for your help and guidance!

If you are reading about my apartment for the first time, please see the before and after pics below. The incrediy nice and talented folks on this blog led me through this as I am completely clueless!

A: Agree on the no swivel chairs. And also agree that you did a great job with the dining room updates. You are so close!!

**Q: Major Regret - Now What??** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Due to an insurance issue, I had to paint my kitchen cabinets. I picked white as the room is pretty dark. However, it made the nice white/grey tile backsplash and granite counters look dingy. What can I do about this? Painting the cabinets again isn't in the cards right now. Change the wall color? The floor will be installed later this week.
Thank you! THIS IS THE BEFORE PHOTO

THE PHOTO BELOW IS THE AFTER DISASTER

Lori

A: So sorry this happened and you had to paint the cabinets. The white your designer recommended for the cabinets is the issue - it’s too close to true white for the other finishes in the room. For an interim fix I would change the wall color to a slightly cooler light tone in the greige family. But if you want the kitchen to be as good as it was previously, you should eventually change the color of the cabinets again, cheaper than having to change everything.

**Q: Need opinions on wood plank porcelain tile** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi All,

I would really appreciate some opinions on potential floor tiles for the wet areas of our house. My budget is not huge $2 - 3 a square foot for the tile. We picked up these samples from some big box stores.

I'm really liking the 36 inch over the 24 inch tiles knowing that will add a layer of complexity during install but I like a challenge.

What are the design rules on color uniformity? Should we stick to something that is pretty much the same color from tile to tile or something with a bit more variety in contrast?

A: Hi Hans, what is the target sales price you are in? Nobody has asked that and it’s really key to being able to provide adequate advice. I’ve done small renovations that significantly increased both the sales price and the speed at which I was able to sell. As long as you’re not making “cheap looking” updates and are being reasonable about the spend, it is worth it to make some minor updates to flooring and paint, etc. I’ve personally seen it work. As far as colors, You should pick finishes, styles and colors that blend well with existing fixtures that you don’t plan to change. Grey doesn’t seem like a good match for your existing cabinets for example.

**Q: Fabulous wallpaper.** *(in Photo Questions)*

Looking for the company and design of the wallpaper.

A: This looks like Kelly Wearstler... just a guess.

**Q: Conestoga Cabinet dealer recommendations?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hello - we are hoping to undertake a major kitchen renovation and have tentatively decided on Conestoga RTA cabinets after much research. However, there seem to be relatively few dealers that carry this line, and none are close to us. We are looking for recommendations for a Conestoga dealer...who did you choose and why? Is there a cost difference when you buy through different dealerships? Did you receive any KD help from your dealer? THANKS!

A: Yes I believe you can. If you don’t see the color you like in their standard paints, you can select anything from Sherwin Williams entire paint line too. It’s just a little most expensive.

**Q: Chairs** *(in Photo Questions)*

Love the bar chairs, were they purchased in Calif.?

A: Can you tell me more about the floors?
Regards,
Iris
