It's pretty modern with a soffit around 60% of the walls, so I'm also not sure if crown moulding works in the space. I've photoshopped black ceilings for you to make a call. Should I? Should I????? Thanks so much for your input! A: Lot of other factors are important. How is the weather where you live? If is cloudy, raining a lot, you might start feeling depressed. Also, If you or other family members are tall, you might feel the ceiling is getting close you in. What about white ceiling, white walls and a stunning black crown molding? **Q: Need help selecting and placement of living room furniture** *(in Design Dilemma)* We will be getting rid of all furniture in these living room pictures. Want to go in a more contemporary direction with a neutral color couch not sure whether to also get a loveseat or chairs in a complimentary pattern/color. Also need help picking a rug. Pardon the mess in the middle of renovating kitchen. Also need help with better placement of tv. A: Uncluttered rooms feel more spacious. Your window should be a feature as well as the fireplace. Create a fireplace/tv/storage wall. **Q: Need help with choosing colors for large open room** *(in Design Dilemma)* Re-doing a lake cottage to retire to. Will have a fairly large open room, 2 stories high, in the front - combo living area and kitchen. There is also a balcony looking over to this area. Struggling with what to do as far as color in the room - color of walls - should we use multiple colors, color of cabinets to go with. Really did not want white cabinets, but windows will be white on the inside. Open to suggestions. A: I would keep the colors neutral like you already have. Bring in the outside beautiful colors from nature with accessories and art.
