> We have worked with Bluewater Surfaces for decades and they just continue to grow and get better every day. They travel the world to find the most unique surfaces and their craftsmanship is unparalleled. If you want something classically beautiful and refined whether it is contemporary or traditional, this is a perfect place.

> Working with Dustin at Bluewater Surfaces was AWESOME! He did what he promised at a reasonable cost. The initial interview shows that he listens!. Delivery was as promised and on time! I couldn't be happier with the end product and would recommend Dustin at Bluewater Surfaces without hesitation

**★★★★★ — Sun Dust, Dec. 2016**

> It was an absolute pleasure to work with Dustin on our kitchen remodeling project. We changed the configuration of our center island, so we now have two uniquely shaped islands. A smaller "entertaining" island (5'5" long x 3' wide)' and a large prep island (Center section is 6'9" long and each wing is 4'11" long x 34" wide). Bluewater Surfaces provided and installed the beautiful Quartz surface. Everything was five stars from start to finish - Personalized service, a plethora of choices, experienced, knowledgable, excellence in craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the pursuit to exceed our expectations. We're very happy. Thanks again Dustin!

> My counters were installed with laser precision. Better than I was expecting and the use of the grain in the stone is perfect. Thanks again Dustin!

**★★★★★ — Onga's Tile, Oct. 2015**

> Dustin and his team were friendly, expedient, accommodating, and very affordable. They accommodated me within a few days turn around for a few pieces of Calacatta stone. I also had them cut a few Neolith porcelain counter pieces with the same quick turn around. This is the type of place that can meet any need and can transcend in different categories including cutting, fabrication, design and the finest custom pieces.
> Highly recommended!

> Dustin was great to work with from the initial consult to the install of our soapstone and marble counters. He is extremely knowledgeable and creative and I would not hesitate to work with him again on another project.

> Perfection. If I had to sum up our recent experience with Bluewater Surfaces in one word, it would be 'perfection'. From the initial consult with Dustin when we first shared our 'vision' for custom concrete countertops, to the final installation, the entire process was seamless. From a simple online photo, Bluewater Surfaces brought our vision to life with precise detail at every turn. We are so thrilled with the final product and the professional treatment offered by Bluewater Surfaces throughout the process. If interested in custom concrete/stone-work in the southeastern NC region, Bluewater Surfaces is a MUST.

## Community Q&A

**Q: I love the vanities where are they from?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: They are custom made here in Wilmington NC. I fabricated the Calcatta Gold Marble tops. The cabinets were made by the owner.

**Q: What is the cost of a sink like this?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: A lot of variables. Please feel free to call us on Monday and we can discuss

**Q: Would you please tell us where you found your sink? It's beautiful!** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Just give us a call. Bluewatersurfaces.com

**Q: Granite question - Uba Tuba or Santa Cecelia opinions please.** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I am thinking of either Uba Tuba or Santa Cecelia- Question is, does anyone who owns Uba Tuba find that it is hard to keep. I have heard that you can wipe it down and an hour later it can show dust and fingerprints. I thought maybe Santa Cecelia better. Cabinets will be white

A: UBA Tuba will not show finger prints as bad with a polished surface as it would more with a honed. If you hone UBA you will want to seal it as you are really opening the pores of the stone up and changing the surface tension. A simple solvent based impregnating sealer will work wonders for it. You will still see finger prints. Honestly you will want to pick the color that works best for you and with the floor. Cab's are white so you can go anywhere with it.

BTW if you can spray Windex you can seal granite. Not hard at all. And with those two stones, personally I wouldn't waste my time. The only thing that is going to hurt those stones would be oils. Keep your olive oil on a trivet. What happens is that sometimes oil slides down the face of the bottle and collects under the bottle. If you set it down and leave it there for a long period (couple of days or so) the oil is going to fill up the pores and seep down into the stone a couple of mils. Easy to get out, you have everything under your kitchen sink to get that kind of oil stain out. That would be the reason to seal if you wanted to. The coat the pores and keep the oil at the surface so that you can easily wipe it down. Again sealing is not often needed on alot of stones.

**Q: Kitchen worktop counter colour ?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I have used Emperador marble( 6"x12" size ) in brick pattern for the back flash in my kitchen. What colour granite should I use for worktop counter ? What should I use for floors? I prefer contemporary style. Your suggestion will really help me !!

A: You have already installed the backsplash prior to new tops? As long as you can get the tops out from under it , shouldn't be a problem. What color are the cabinets and floor?

**Q: Apron for bathroom vanity** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi everyone - I'm trying to decide on the apron thickness for the countertop on my new vanity. I am going for a modern look and was thinking 1.5" or 2". Are there any good photos that I could look at that show the different thicknesses?

A: @cksv, it depends. Most cast materials are just that and thick, thinner materials are drop miters or miter fronts.
