## Community Q&A

**Q: Are 24” wide cabinet doors too wide?** *(in Kitchens)*

The original kitchen plan was to have two 24” wide pantries with single doors, as well as two 24” wide cabinets to the left of the fridge with single doors. This allows me to open both doors at once and quickly see everything inside. Kitchen designer says 24” on pantries and upper cabinets is too big.  Any thoughts?

Picture 3: two different size cabinets: 30” wide plus 18” wide which still adds up to 48” wide. (Can’t open up all 3 doors with just 2 hands to quickly see inside.)

A: I'm glad my drawing was helpful.  I think you're on the right track.  I would lean toward having all the pantry units together on the right of the fridge.  If you can live with 36" cabinets and counter to the left, then the doors will work at the 18" size.  If you need more base cabinet and counter there, then you'll have to explore the wider doors.  I don't know the answer to your concern about the 21" doors, but a good cabinet rep should be able to help you solve that.

Hi, love this. My house is Urbane Bronze, too, and I am looking for pavers or stones to compliment it. Can you share the patio stone or paver that. You used, please? Thanks!

A: Hello and thank you!  I believe these steps are made with Tennessee crab orchard stone, color selected to focus on the gray tones and to reduce the amount of apricot in the mix.  The pool area was paved with travertine for it's uniformity and coolness on barefeet.

A: the color is bronze, though i don't know the actual manufacter's brand name color.

What is the name of this stone/color?

A: this is a natural stone veneer, so there is not a product name or color.  this project is in nashville, tn, and the veneer is what is called tennessee field stone - local, natural stone.  the color is sorted and only about 30-40% apricot or buff color is used with the remaining in grey.

Is there away to look at a layout of the house/ floor plan?

the paint color is probably sherwin williams, urbane bronze (SW 7048), and the stone is natural tennessee fieldstone (limestone).  it is not a manufactured product - your stone yard and stone mason should be able to create a similar look for you.
