Liz Hart began her interior design business, Liz Hart Designs, LLC, in 2004 with the intent on improving home environments of her clients with an emphasis on repurposing and personalization. Having experienced moving 19 times, living in three different countries and extensive travel, Liz has particular insight across many different design perspectives. 
Liz graduated from Syracuse University and started her design career by owning and operating an fabrication workroom and later working at Williams and Sherrill Interiors in Richmond, VA. Today, with over 20 years of fabrication and design experience, Liz has perfected the art of balancing design with her clients’ personal desires and lifestyles.
Liz is a Certified Interior Decorator and Certified Home Stager. She is a member of IFDA, ASID and has developed a certification program and is the lead instructor for the Interior Decorating Program at the School of Continuing Studies at The University of Richmond.

> We recently underwent a major remodel of our home.  We chose a talented designer, Liz Hart of Liz Hart Designs.  She came highly recommended by a good friend.  I knew I wanted Liz to be the Designer for my home remodel.  Liz took my 1980's house and converted the 1st floor into a beautiful, more functional, updated haven with the help of the Contractor, Project Manager and his team. She worked closely with the Project Manager to make sure every little detail got done. From completely remodeling the kitchen, creating a butler's pantry, swapping the dining and living rooms, changing doorways, painting everything to name a few, I literally have a new downstairs I love. The stairwell and upstairs hallway and bathroom also got a face lift per her suggestion. Liz encouraged me to think out of the box with many of her design choices.  I loved them all. She helped me choose the kitchen appliances. She chose all the finishes, then shopped for everything after my approval.  She was a pleasure to work with.  She truly made the remodel an easy process.  Liz paid close attention to the details I wanted to keep and helped me make smart decisions with the things I needed to change.  She also gave great suggestions to better utilize the spaces in my house. She always respected the budget. She had endless resources. She had my dining room chairs redone, designed and ordered new window treatments, and she helped me with picture placement.

> We were looking to update our dark and dreary Den area.  After researching interior decorators in our area I contacted and met with Liz Hart.  I had no idea what I wanted I just wanted something updated and comfortable. Liz asked questions, listened, read my mind and presented us with a complete plan including samples of furniture, colors, fabrics and contractor recommendations.  Since the changes included painting all the dark woodwork white which was definitely out of my comfort zone I needed some assurance but Liz provided pictures and helped me visualize the final look.  I am so glad we went with her plan because we now have a beautiful, bright, comfortable Den.   Since this initial project Liz has overseen the updating of our dining room, sunroom, guest bedrooms  and even a complete remodel of our downstairs bathroom and laundry room while we were wintering in Florida . I could go on and on singing her praises but the fact we want her now to help us redo our master bedroom and bathroom says it all.  We absolutely love our home with it’s updated look and improved functionality.  We could not have done it without Liz.  We highly recommended Liz Hart Designs.

> When my husband and I decided to renovate our home, including gutting kitchen, baths and removing a wall, we had a lot of ideas but no plan. After telephone interviews with several designers, we decided to work with Liz Hart Designs.  Liz took all of our bits and pieces of ideas and formed a cohesive plan.  Liz worked with use to determine our actual style.  She recommended several contractors and worked as a liaison between us and the contractor throughout the project. She made a seemingly overwhelming task enjoyable. Liz has worked with us to pick paint, tile, granite, fabrics and window covering; arrange furniture;  and choose lighting fixtures.  She has always been professional, knowledgeable, and responsive to texts and e-mails. Liz was especially helpful in designing our kitchen. She took the cabinet makers initial design and tweaked cabinet and drawer placement for maximum functionality.  The light fixture she chose is perfect for the space and not something I would have chosen on my own.  It has truly been a pleasure to work with Liz and I highly recommend her services

A: The table had to be a very specific size. It was custom made by the cabinet maker.
