Her design knowledge and experience was evident in the final product...our beautiful living room. She helped us pick out furniture, fabrics, colors, rugs and window treatments. She selected items that truly fit our home and our style which was really important to us. At the same time, she helped me step out of my comfort zone and try new colors and materials. A very easy person to work with and very patient. In addition, she completely redesigned our fireplace and the result was stunning. She created the design, picked out the materials, organized the production and installation and make the overall experience wonderful. **★★★★★ — jordakj, Feb. 2015** > Kellie has worked with me for almost a decade. My home is a typical midwestern 2 story home, built ~1975. Small rooms, tiny kitchen/breakfast nook, dining room, family room. neutral walls, carpet, tile. Very bland. > > My husband and I had tried our hand at redecorating, and the effort was very disjointed. Our tastes were similar, but not the same and we each seemed to design a room in isolation. The disjointed final appearance really showed. We hired a designer but she didn't really seem to understand our style and wasn't able to make much improvement on what we had done ourselves. So, we interviewed 3 more designers. They were all fully qualified and I am sure they would have done an excellent job. Kellie stood out though. She "designer intuitiion"allowed her to zero in on a vision that we could neither clearly get to, nor articulate to her. > > Our home today is GORGEOUS. I would describe it as "elegant contemporary". Kelly used a beautiful combination of maple floors, cherry cabinetry, and black (yes black!) crown molding. Art deco is a favorite for us so Kellie used this in the kitchen counters (4' limestone inlay in green varigated marble) counter tops, giant slate tile inlay in the maple floors. Beautiful maple circles and linear black lines in the cherry cabinet doors. Lots of glass for for decorative shelving, work surfaces in the den so there is a lightness to everything. Perhaps her greatest talent is the use of lighting. Just the right placement, style, and intensity. And she patiently worked with us in "stops and starts" that fit our time schedule and budget...across a decade. > > My home is now my favorite place to be. Kellie took us from a cookie-cutter house that was 20 years outdated to living in an art gallergy. Everything is highly functional but so exceptionally elegant, intimate and comfortable. I love entertaing in it, or just being in it by self. I silently salute Kellie every evening when I come home from work and I highly recommend her to anyone who "sort of knows what they like, but doesn't have a clear vision or skill".
