From start to finish it was a great process. Professional, reliable and honest. Building a home can be a bit overwhelming, but they made the process smooth and exciting. They make great use of all space in their homes, which was a key factor when we searched for home builders. We went through many homes and a lot of builders gave us a "cheap" feel. With stone cottage, what you see is what you get and their homes have a great sense of elegance to them. I would not have chosen anyone else to build a home for us and we are so pleased with our decision. I would recommend them to anyone. Thank you stone cottage for your great work! **★★★★★ — Tracy Borchardt, March 2015** > My wife and I hired Stone Cottage to build our home after checking out a number of area builders. After our first meeting we talked about some changed we'd like to have done as compared to their model and Troy worked up a preliminary budget in 2-3 days and while he was traveling out of town for business. That really set the tone and impressed us. Another factor that led us to them, beyond their creative layouts/design, was that we could change/customize whatever we wanted. We changed the structure in three different areas and did custom cabinetry in a number of rooms with a design we put together. Of the "adds" that we did I think they fairly priced them. They didn't take advantage of the things they know you want and overcharged for them and that says a lot about their integrity. We started right on time and we'll be finished almost in exactly four months and this was through the MN winter (Nov-March). All the other builders said at least five months, and since we took out the construction loan that made a difference in our pocketbook. During construction when issues arose they were quick to address them. Don't be mistaken or upset because the wrong item was ordered, or arrived damaged, or something wasn't built quite right. That will happen in every project. What matters is how they were addressed and Brian was fantastic about it. Compared to other builders in our area/neighborhood I think we received an excellent value on our investment. Our home turned out beautiful, on time, and with a high level of craftsmanship. What development are currently building in? Anything in Victoria, MN? A: The 1st & 2nd floors total 2,462 sqft. The basement would add about another 900 sqft depending on how it is finished. So the total could be around 3,400 sqft. We still have lots in Chaska. We have access to a few lots in Victoria. Our current model is in Savage's Trace Water neighborhood.
