The Ikea butcher block island top is 74"x42". We will have over hang on one long side and one short side for seating. What is the best way to attached the top to the island and what type of bracket should be used? The directions that come with the top are only for cabinets that are attached to a wall. Would love to see! **Q: marble staining** *(in Cleaning Tips)* I have a powder room vanity from Restoration Hardware that came with the marble top. There are 2 stains from where liquid hand soap was dropped on it and sat for awhile. They look like a grease stain. Anyone have advice on removing the stains? Thanks! A: My daughter spilled blue hair dye on her bathroom marble counter. It looked like it was a deep stain. I put a poultice of baking soda. Covered it with Saran Wrap over night and to my amazement it lifted the stain completely out. Shocking. **Q: flooring question** *(in Photo Questions)* What flooring was used in this picture? A: I have had the flooring in my bathroom and bedrooms now for over a year i have zero complaints hides dirt well. no scratches, no prints, no maintenance i vacuum infrequently and wip clean with a swiffer once in a while. hope that helps! we love it! **Q: coloring of Danby marbles** *(in Home Decorating)* We have ordered off-white cabinets for the kitchen and I'm planning to do a honed marble countertop. While the color is a standard color from the cabinet company, I compared to my paint deck and it looks to be Sherwin Williams Alabaster. The Carraras I've seen have too gray of an overall look to them, and, while I like the coloring of Calacatta, I don't like the heavy veining. I love the look of Imperial and Olympian Danby marble, but I've only been able to see them online so far. I was hoping someone could tell me if the overall white coloring tends to be a stark white, or is it more of a creamy white? And how do the whites of Olympian vs Imperial compare? I will look in person before buying, but I'm trying to locate a slab and would like to know which, if either, would work best with my cabinets. I'd really appreciate any advice on this! A: Love the softer veining of Danby,! **Q: Laminate vs Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring** *(in Flooring)* I am replacing 20 year old Formica Laminate Flooring in the majority of the main floor of my Florida home, including my kitchen, dining room, entry and living room. My kitchen cabinets and breakfront are natural cherry. Should I install new laminate (I'm considering Pergo Outlast) or Vinyl Flooring. This is a high end home and I'm concerned that the vinyl may devalue my home. Also, I installed Armstrong LVT in the past year upstairs and I don't particularly like it.
