I had high hopes based on the other reviews. However, I was very disappointed. It was very clear that they did not want our business unless we had a $50,000 budget to start. Instead of discussing what could be done with our considerable (but lower) budget, Steve continually encouraged us to speak to other contractors. He also said that they charge $500 to come out to take measurements of the existing bathroom. We will take Steve’s advice and look elsewhere. **Comment from DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen Amarillo:** > We are sorry to hear that you left your appointment so disappointed with the misconception of how our process works and thinking we have a minimum target budget for customers. We did not do our job to effectively communicate the following meeting/s and what to expect. We do not charge a fee for a home visit and do not have a minimum dollar amount for prospective customers. The home visit is to further discuss the scope of work required, refine the budget range, and take measurements. The next step after the home visit is to start the design and selection process which we do charge a fee for that does go towards the final contract price for the specified job. The project you presented during the office visit was considerably above your budget. However, because you were willing to change the scope of work you wanted done to get closer to your target budget (i.e. keep tub & tub deck and keep existing cabinets) we did suggest a home visit because we are willing to work with any realistic budget. There was a misunderstanding when the design fee was brought up in close correlation to the home visit that we charge for that home visit appointment where we would take measurements. **★★★★★ — DAWN PHENIX, April 2018** > I recently asked DreamMaker Bath and Kitchen's Steve Betts to come to my house and tell me what to do about fixing a horrible remodel I had done by another contractor. My wife and I met with DreamMakers several times to discuss possibilities. We were impressed with their knowledge and experience, and they assured us that they could complete the job we wanted in a timely manner and give us the kitchen we wanted. It was obvious to us that their goal was to make us happy and give us the kitchen we wanted. > > We entered into a contract with DreamMakers and undertook a major renovation of our kitchen. They removed a wall between the kitchen and the formal dining room and raised the ceiling in both rooms from 8' to 9'. They stripped the kitchen down to the studs and rafters and redesigned the entire layout of the kitchen. We added numerous lights, a pantry, in-floor heating, an island, new appliances, and new cabinets. The results are stunning and we are proud to show this room to our family and friends. > > My wife and I have always had a hard time agreeing on style, design, and and color. We had a very hard time making decisions on the kitchen design and on most of the decisions that had to be made during this remodel. The people at DreamMaker were very patient with us and helped us make these decisions. They were also understanding and patient when we made changes and additions to the original design. Their estimates on time and cost were accurate, although our changes in the middle of the project added time to the overall job. > > The workmen who did the renovation are true craftsmen who take pride in the quality of their work. At some point in the construction, I visited with each of the people who did the various aspects of the job. Every one of them was friendly and helpful when I asked them questions. They shared tips and tricks on how to do certain things since I like to remodel some things myself. > > They separated the construction area from the rest of the house, protected our furniture and flooring, and kept the dust confined to the smallest possible space, They also kept the dust to a minimum. One thing that impressed me was that they cleaned up after themselves every day. Thanks! A: These are custom cabinets done with a raised panel door/drawer and finished in our signature faded stain. This vanity is about 5ft long.
