> Cannot go into too much detail about this as (1) we have recently filed complaints with the State FL Dept of Professional Regulation and also legal action against this GC is finally in process.  Long story short we hired this GC for demo/reno and to build new residence.  GC started demolition even before the permit was issued which resulted in a "stop work" order from the City and was sanctioned double permit fees.   (2) this GC failed to pay supplier(s) for tens of thousands in materials which resulted in many harassing collection calls and a lien being placed on the property.  You can and should verify this directly with Stephanie at Dixie Clamp in Ft. Lauderdale.  (3) After having already been paid, this GC abandoned the project prior to completing what this GC had been contracted for.  Despite being paid, he did not finish the job.  That resulted in us having to spend thousand's of $$$ more to hire others to complete the project.   Once again this a very generic summary of our experience with this GC.   We were very fortunate to have had the means to able to finish the project ourselves.  Others may not have been so lucky.   Looking back I wish I would have never hired this GC as I would never want to go through this again.  We have definitely learned from this experience and would never make the same mistake again.
