His attention to detail is to be commended and communication was constant and informative which was very important to us since we were building in a location 5 hours away from where we lived. He sent pictures, recommended changes, is flexible, and was very easy to work with during the whole construction period. > > We were very pleased with the process from start to finish and have a home we know was built as if he was going to live in it himself. I would highly recommend CSDB, Inc. to anyone building a home in the Asheville, NC and surrounding areas. **★★★★★ — User, April 2014** > Our contractor Terry Baker was not our first choice, but we are so happy to have found him. We originally thought his business was only a surveying company, when we hired him do the initial survey. Since this was a timber frame job, we wanted a company who specialized in that type of construction. Due to scheduling conflicts, the specialty company decided not to do the job. > > Terry did not realize what a pain it was going to be working with us (mostly me) as my husband is very easy going and let's just say I am not-so-much. Terry's attitude was always professional and "above the fray." Every time there was a question or concern he found a way to deal with it. His office staff and work crews are very knowledgeable and ready to get the job done. > > This was not the easiest site to work with. The house sits on the slope of a hill, very near the French Broad River. Special care had to be taken to ensure the river was never in danger of being bothered by the construction. When the footers were being installed, the crew called Terry and reported they believed the soil on the side closest to the river was not adequate for the job. An engineer was called in and he agreed. The foundation on that side had to be redesigned and the whole thing had to be moved up the hill by about thirty feet. What a mess! Anyway, Terry managed to keep things going through it all. > > We have been living in the house now for what will be our fourth year and are very pleased. Terry worked with the timber frame designers and accomplished what we wanted.
