When I saw an ad for Thrasher in a luxury magazine, I called and the owner Chris was at our house the next day. We loved his demeanor and design vision and his willingness to work with us. We had lots of challenges out of our control, weather, tree removal, permitting...but Chris and his team and crew were very communicative. We just finished and our pool is beautiful. When we needed to update and replace our coping around our pool and spa deck, Thrasher Pool & Spa was my first choice. Got the bid quickly and work began within a week. We also added new brick to the above ground sides of the spa to replace old outdated tiles, the brick matches the house and it looks fantastic. Installed damaged pool heater, refused to replace. Multiple tiles cracked, "didn't recommend replacing them". Pool finish gray, asked for blue, needs to be acid washed. Said it wasn't his fault, pH wasn't right. Overpriced, stay away **Comment from Thrasher Pool and Spa:** > The pool heater was scratched during the September 2017 category 5 hurricanes that swept through the US Virginia Islands. The pool heater, which is installed outside, works perfectly despite the scratch. Like most pool equipment which is installed outside in the open, the pool heater will sustain many more scratches from trees and animals on the island but continue to function properly. We have asked the home owner multiple times to mark the tiles which he believes are "cracked," however he has never marked the tiles for our inspection. Due to the manufacturing process of custom glass tile, the tile may sometimes look irregular, bubbly and notched, however that is normal. Removing a perfect but irregular tile from a row of installed tile is not recommended because it breaks the seal in the tile row and can cause leaks at a later time. Please see the attached picture of the installation of the BLUE pool surface. After the pool was resurface the home generator unfortunately broke and the pool's pump did not run for over a week and the pool's chemicals were not balanced. For the first 4 weeks after a pool has been resurfaced the pool's pump should run 24 hours a day and the chemicals need to be balanced on an almost daily basis. Unfortunately, this pool was not properly maintained for the first week. Luckily the pool still looks good and blue despite the pool care it received on the week after our renovation was complete. **★★★★★ — Laura Nay Interiors, May 2017** > Thrasher renovated our pool and we are thrilled! Chris is very knowledgeable about pool design and renovations. Thrasher will advise you as to strategic decisions on your project but not beat you over the head with their opinions. Attention to detail is strong. In terms of communication skills, I was very impressed. Thrasher contacted us nearly every day to update us on the status of the project, and solicit our opinion as to small decisions that had to be made as the project progressed. The pool looks completely new and was updated both aesthetically as well as installing up to date safety and filtration equipment. They were equally capable a doing full hardscape renovation.
