Kent and his team stayed under his budget. In the end his overseeing the project insured that our remodel finished as we had hoped. He created a beautiful open spacious high ceiling kitchen which includes the dining and desk area; and added a laundry room off the kitchen. A cozy sunny private reading room with fireplace was added. Living room was also remodeled adding windows and removed existing non-functioning fireplace. Skylights were added in the kitchen, reading room, and workshop. There are large glass doors leading from the kitchen to the redesigned patio with arbor overlooking the garden. A workshop was added to existing detached garage. He redesigned the front entrance and the steps leading to the entrance. Kent was professional, very knowledgeable in design and materials, charming and pleasant to work with, worked extremely well with the contractor, and intervening when necessary. A: Hi Madison, the width in this photo is 4'6". We generally like to maintain at least 4' between the island and the rear counter. That being said, it really depends on the size and proportion of the space you are dealing with and the program requirements for the particular project.
