> Nazim prepared plans and permit submissions for a renovation of my previously unfinished basement. He and his team were great to work with, and I am very happy with how the project turned out. Nazim quickly understood my goals for the project, my design tastes, and my budget constraints. The design process went smoothly and the work was completed on schedule and on budget. Nazim came up with some excellent solutions for working around awkward spaces created by the existing structure. These solutions really made the finished project feel like an extension of the rest of my house as opposed to a tacked on finished basement. I would highly recommend working with Nazim and his team.

> I just completed building my dream home which was designed by Motionspace (Nazim and Jack). It was a positive experience from start to finish. Nazim and Jack listened to everything that I wanted and came up with a design that met all my desires and was better than I could ever imagine. Throughout the construction process, the team was responsive to any issues that came up. They were always on top of things. I would highly recommend them and, in fact, am going to use them again on another project.

**★★★★★ — Eileen Sun, March 2018**

> Our experience with Nazim and his team at Motionspace was fantastic and we would highly recommend him to anyone for his vision, openness, and professionalism. He designed a beautiful remodel for our home that included adding a new bedroom, bathroom, and mudroom/laundry room. The new floor plan is more functional for our family and we really love it. He listened to our ideas and accommodated them in his design, which made us feel respected. During the construction, we worked with Uri as our day-to-day point person and he was always available and responsive and we really felt we could count on him to support us when interacting with our contractors. The overall experience was really great and we are so happy with the outcome. If we ever need to do another home project, we wouldn't hesitate to work with them in the future!

**Comment from Motionspace Architecture + Design:**

> Hi Eileen,
>
> Thank you for your kind comments! Uri and I really enjoyed working with you.
>
> We're so happy to have found a solution for your project that didn't require the expense of a second story addition. We were lucky that the setbacks, lot coverage, and impervious surface calculations worked out to allow us to move the garage forward making room for the additional bedroom on the main level.
>
> I am glad you are enjoying the new space!

> We worked with Nazim on our 5000 square foot, whole house remodel of an early 20th Century 4-square in Capitol Hill. Nazim is a delight to work with. He is a kind and thoughtful person, working seamlessly with everyone on our job. Moreover, he is a gifted architect with an amazing ability to translate a vague idea into 3-D reality. He has an incredible eye for and attention to detail - repeatedly he was the only one who identified and solved potential issues, always in an affordable and aesthetic way. I highly recommend Nazim and would not do another remodel without him.

> Nazim and Uri were amazing to work with. Nazim designed a beautiful and seemless remodel for us to add a second story onto our home. Uri, his associate, was the perfect project manager who kept us knowing what we needed to do next. Uri was also great and moving the general contractor and subs along. I would highly recommend this company. We have been in our house for a few weeks and my husband and I continue to admire all the little details they thought of.

> Motionspace did fantastic, awesome work. They made our project happen, and helped us expand our idea to an amazing result. We built a two story ADU attached to our house, with a 800 sq ft mother-in-law apartment above a large two car garage. We were new to construction and in desperate need of guidance. Nazim and Steve patiently helped us figure out what we wanted by designing several options for us and iteratively tweaking them to fit our forming parameters. They also helped us really understand the permitting process and how to get the things we wanted while still meeting code. Their plans were impeccable, and so detailed it provided us a great guide for us doing the work we could and for contractors we hired. They listened very well and incorporated all the things we said we wanted, that were feasible. They took into account our long term future plans for the property, and expertly advised on the layout, often pointing out issues and options that never would have occurred to us. They were respectful and were not offended when we didn't take their suggestion on something or asked them to yet again make another change. They seemed to go above and beyond their scope of work to help make our process go smoothly. I knew I had experts to ask when I was confused on something. Their plans resulted in a final product that everybody is impressed by. The vaulted ceilings make the space seem huge, and it is just a beautiful space thanks to their design and forethought. We stayed in touch throughout the process, ,sporadically asking questions or sometimes they helped us with forms we had to fill out, even though their main job was done. We are incredibly pleased with how the parts of the project that involved Motion-Space went, and look forward to working with them again when we have saved up enough for our next project. I highly recommend them to anybody trying to build something.

> We worked with Motionspace on doing a 400 sq ft. bedroom, bathroom and storage room addition to our home and also had them draw up plans for a remodel to an existing space. They were amazing at communicating project scope, drawing up plans, getting necessary permits, and helping us find and evaluate contractors to work on our project. They made an overwhelming project seamless for us.
>
> We will likely be contacting them again in a few years for phase two of our project (assuming we decide to do phase two)!

**★★★★★ — tomhwarburton, May 2016**

> After interviewing several architects, we engaged Nazim at Motionspace Architecture + Design for a complete house remodel of our 1914 Seattle Craftsman home. During the initial planning phases, we were very pleased to find that Nazim took the time to understand our goals and preferences. While we went through a couple iterations of changing the project scope to meet our budget constraints, he continued to be focused on our priorities and he proposed design ideas to meet those priorities. Throughout the process, we found him to be very receptive to our questions and design ideas.
>
> Throughout the construction process, we were also impressed by Nazim's organization and attention to detail. Nazim was instrumental in getting the appropriate permits and working through a permitting issue with minimal adverse impact, collaborating with our general contractor and the engineer to work around some unforeseen structural challenges, and helping us source finishes and fixtures. On multiple occasions, the general contractors we worked with complimented the level of detail in Motionspace's drawings and specifications, and as a result there were fewer times the contractor required clarification due to ambiguity in the plans. Nazim's eye for detail was also helpful in identifying glitches or imperfections in the construction that were not apparent to the untrained eye. This support was critical during several walkthroughs during the project up until the final review of the remodel for punch list items.
>
> Overall, we were very satisfied with Nazim's willingness to understand our ideas and priorities, his design acumen and his organization. Motionspace's design work and construction support were essential to the successful completion of our home remodeling project, and we would highly recommend Motionspace to anyone considering a similar project.

> Exellent Vision. Excellent Execution.
>
> It was a pleasure working with Motion Space for our kitchen and bathroom remodel. Nazim and the team brought a couple of renderings for the kitchen early on that were pretty standard and would have been nice - but the visionary design that we ultimately proceeded with is more in line with our style and vision for our home. They took our standard craftsman style kitchen and transformed the entire main floor into beautiful space perfectly suited for everyday life and entertaining.
>
> Nazim and Uri at MotionSpace did an excellent job of listening to our project ideas, and incorporating the right ones. They assisted with the selection of a general contractor (who was also great to work with) and they helped to guide the project to completion.
>
> The team helped us with several aspects of the materials selection process - from cabinets and counter tops to tile for the floor and backsplash to fixtures that fit our desired aesthetic. They helped us narrow down on a palette of materials that is clean and modern, but still feels timeless. Only complaint here is that we weren't pushed on certain timelines for placing orders. While not detrimental, having a firm timeline and management of all materials and fixtures would have helped alleviate some anxiety throughout the project.
>
> We are six months since moving back into our home and we are quite happy with the work that the team has done. To us, it's a good sign that every time we come home or spend time in the kitchen or bath, we have no regrets and are very happy with the finished project! If you are looking for a partner to help you realize a vision for your project and to guide you to an excellent finished space, you should check out the folks at MotionSpace.

> We hired Nazim and Motionspace to remodel our 1928 Tudor revival home. Nazim designed a few options for us and helped us make our dream home come true. Our project included an addition to the front of the home that Nazim did a great job of incorporating into the original design of the home. Nazim has a wonderful, calm demeanor and took care of all the permitting and details relieving of us of that stress. We interviewed three contractors that Nazim recommended to us that he felt were a good fit for the scope of our project. We were very happy with the contractor that we picked and had the assurance that Nazim had worked with him and his crew in the past. Everything was top-notch with this project and our experience was pleasant considering how stressful a home remodel project can be. All of the professionals who works on our home were a pleasure to work with!

**★★★★★ — deberhar, Jan. 2016**

> It was a great experience working with Nazim and the team at Motion Space! They were responsive, creative, flexible and detail oriented. They recommended great contractors and specialists and they were willing to work with those we already had. We definitely give two thumbs up!

**★★★★★ — bhines99, Jan. 2016**

> We have been working with Nazim and the Motionspace Team for years now, and have always been pleased. Their ability to deliver on time and above expectation is a welcome change. Nazim also is very adept at balancing the overall vision with the practical construction requirements of each project, and as a builder, we appreciate his accessibility, prompt responses, and great design. If you desire premium custom service combined with innovative design, then Motionspace Architecture should be at the top of your list.

  - Location: Seattle, WA

  - Description: While the design of the existing bathroom in this West Seattle home was not terrible, the shower had started to leak, which prompted this remodel. The owners really wanted a bathtub since they have young children, and they didn’t care for the tile or fixtures the previous owner had chosen. We started by replacing the large shower with a soaking tub. To keep the room bright, we replaced a leaking window with glass block, and installed new lighting and ventilation. A new vanity, designed to house…

  - Location: Bellevue, WA

  - Description: This transformation shows how an understanding of context and scale can help transform a typical, but rather boring ‘builder’ home into a beautiful, light-filled, airy space. This home had good bones to begin with, but it also had a few problems: 1) the home is located on a corner lot facing an undeveloped area of land and the home did not take advantage of the light or views. 2) The windows, molding, and other details were far too small for this huge entry space. Tiny trim, a chair rail that di…

  - Description: Inspired by the rural farm houses and agricultural buildings of North Carolina, the New American Farmhouse is a home designed for casual and comfortable living. Featured in the 2004 Raleigh Parade of Homes, the home earned praise for its refreshing simplicity and clarity, informality, and connection with the outdoors and the pastoral views of the 13 acre site. While at 7500 square feet the home is quite large, much attention was paid to reducing its impact on our environment. The home was situat…

  - Description: Located in a neighborhood where many homes are being torn down and replaced with new, this owner expressed a desire to integrate the original structure into a substantial remodel and addition. Because of its appearance on the exterior, this home was affectionately called ‘the double wide’. On the interior the home suffered from several problems common to homes built in the 1960’s: 1) stairs in the wrong location and 2) an overly large fireplace that blocked the best views from the home.
