> San Luis Kitchen is amazing! I recently bought a house built in 1900 in Arroyo Grande. The entire kitchen needed to be redone from the ground up. This was my first major kitchen remodel, so I needed quite a bit of hand holding. I attended a seminar at San Luis Kitchen and realized that I could avoid a lot of expensive mistakes and have my dream kitchen if I hired San Luis Kitchen. I hired them that day. Lee Anna is excellent. She really listened to me and guided me when making decisions. My kitchen is beautiful and functional. I am thrilled with all the work of the team, Lee Anna, Jill and Sarah. Thank you ladies! You far exceeded my expectations and you made my dream come true. I am very pleased and grateful for your excellent work.

> Excellent customer service; they really want to make sure you love your final product. Kitchen turned out beautiful. Would definitely go with them again!

**★★★★★ — yvonnemacias, Feb. 2026**

> Lee Anna and Sarah are the best at what they do. I have used them on four different projects over the years, and they have always met or exceeded my expectations. (and I’ve been accused of being a perfectionist) On my latest project, I will confess that I checked out a local “box store” with very nice cabinet displays. My budget was very tight, and their prices were a little bit less than San Luis Kitchen Co. However, when I factored in the total usable space I would get, San Luis Kitchen Company was actually less expensive! The “box store” had “fake drawers” that did not open and cabinet space that could not be used! Sarah is an expert at giving you as much useable space as possible. The contractors they recommend for installation have always done an excellent job as well. I highly recommend San Luis Kitchen Co without reservation.

> We cannot say enough good things about Lee Anna and the entire team at San Luis Kitchen Co. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Lee Anna and her expertise was very much appreciated. She truly cares about her clients and listens to what they want and offered suggestions that made our kitchen into our dream kitchen. Although our kitchen was on the smaller size compared to others, Lee Anna's attention to detail made every inch of space count with every cabinet custom designed and functional for us to "age in place".
>
> We also appreciated her experience in the industry and her connections to the best craftspersons locally. We understand the importance of working with quality contractors and suppliers that you can trust. Jose Rangel at Rangel Enterprises Inc. made the construction process easy and was great to communicate with. We liked his work so much that we added on more remodeling than we had originally planned and are so happy with the results.
>
> Months later and we are thrilled with our kitchen and house remodel and highly recommend San Luis Kitchen Company! They are the absolute best in the industry!

**★★★★★ — Kay and Rosemary Thorne, Dec. 2025**

> Our kitchen, not updated since it was built in the 1960's, sorely needed help. We had been making notes of what we like and what changes might be possible for a long time. On a whim, we stopped by their showroom and started talking to them. It was a definite "Go" from that moment. We found the entire staff welcoming, understanding, and infinitely capable of turning our thoughts into computer images, then plans, and, ultimately, into the kitchen we had envisioned. Leanna and Sarah were generous with their time and expertise. They made the process of designing, reviewing images and changing them at will, fun as well as informative. They guided us through all the steps necessary for completion, choosing contractor, flooring, plumbing, appliances and so much more, and helped us avoid potential pitfalls. We feel we have made friends as well as having an enlarged, functional, bright and airy kitchen and laundry room.

> After months of planning, we finally decided to remodel our kitchen, and we are absolutely thrilled with the results! We hired San Luis Kitchen Co., and from the very first consultation, they exceeded our expectations.
>
> The design process was seamless and collaborative. Lee Anna and Sarah had a fantastic eye for detail and listened attentively to our needs and preferences. They presented us with a variety of ideas, and their renderings allowed us to visualize the final result perfectly. The attention to detail in the design was outstanding. They maximized our storage space, incorporated clever pull-outs, and created a beautiful flow between the cooking and the adiacent area. We love the modern yet cozy feel they achieved.

> Hi Lee Anna Daniels helped to design my kitchen. She was very helpful the entire time. The installer was very professional and spent a lot of time on the kitchen. It looks great

**★★★★★ — Lucinda Lai, Feb. 2023**

> My husband and I hired Lee Anna of San Luis Kitchen Co to design our kitchen. It was quite a process. When the kitchen was complete in December 2022, we were so excited at how well it came out! In fact, my husband has taken over the kitchen as he is very comfortable as well as functional. Lee Anna and Sarah, her assistant, stood by us from the initial design to the end. They are very detailed-oriented, customer-oriented, and nice people to deal with. We highly recommended San Luis Kitchen Co.

**Comment from San Luis Kitchen Co.:**

> Thank you so much, Lucinda! It's been fun working with you and Ed, and we are very proud of all the work he did getting it ready for the new cabinets! We hope you enjoy it for many years to come!

**★★★★★ — HU-494655098, Jan. 2023**

> Thank you so much to Lee Anna at San Luis Kitchen Co. For the outstanding service. She went above and beyond to help us create the kitchen of our dreams by helping to create the perfect blue print for our cabinets and hardware. She constantly kept us up to date on any issues that came up along the way and helped us decide on the best plan of action to make sure everything came together seamlessly. We are so happy with the service she provided and the high quality cabinets and installation. If you are ever In the market to remodel your kitchen and live in San Luis Obispo County, I highly recommend San Luis kitchen Co.

**Comment from San Luis Kitchen Co.:**

> Thank you so much for the kind words! It makes it worth coming to work everyday!

**★★★★★ — Jeanette Kimball, Dec. 2022**

> Working with Lee Anna and Sarah on our kitchen renovation was an excellent experience. We took out our old kitchen down to the studs and started over. We interviewed 3 other local kitchen remodel businesses; San Luis Kitchen is the only one that met all of our criteria. The presentation of what our kitchen would look like, after we chose our cabinets, was very professional. They presented their computer generated, multi-angle drawings on a big TV screen so that we could see every detail. We knew what our finished kitchen would look like - and it does! We put the pictures, (7), on a story board for our GC and his ICs to view while working and they helped answer questions that arose during construction. In addition, everyone saw what a quality job they were working on and took extra pride in their work.
>
> Sarah transferred all of our ideas onto the technical drawings for Wood-Mode. We had many non-standard depths and dimensions which needed to be precisely relayed for everything to fit perfectly. The quality of our cabinets and the installation resulted in a beautiful kitchen that has a good work flow.
>
> The cost of our project was very fair, especially considering the high quality of all aspects of the job. We highly recommend them for anyone who wants to work with ethical, professional and knowledgeable kitchen remodel experts.
>
> Jeanette & William Roberts

**Comment from San Luis Kitchen Co.:**

> Thank you so very much, Jeanette and William! Your project was such a remarkable transformation indeed! We are very happy to have been a part of it!

**★★★★★ — marciasharp, Dec. 2022**

> San Luis Kitchen has completed 2 projects for us - complete kitchen remodel in 2014, and cabinets in the dining area in 2021. They were very knowledgeable, helpful and professional in dealing with them and we were delighted with the results of their products and expertise.

**Comment from San Luis Kitchen Co.:**

> Thank you so much, Marcia! It is always so great to have repeat customers and it was really fun coming to the open house you gave to your friends and neighbors and an honor to have been invited!

**★★★★★ — Doreen Zigley, Dec. 2022**

> I would highly recommend San Luis Kitchen for anyone doing a kitchen remodel. They take their time getting to know you, your style and exactly what you are looking for, then they create it for you.
> We spent time and money on two different contractors who either didn’t show up or would not do what we asked. Then we found the ladies at San Luis Kitchen.
> I am so happy with my new kitchen and everyone who visits says how beautiful my kitchen is and that they wouldn’t have believed it possible. I always recommend San Luis Kitchen to people who say they are planning to upgrade their kitchen. I just can’t say enough good things about them.

**Comment from San Luis Kitchen Co.:**

> Hi Doreen! I just now saw this - we sure did enjoy working with you and your husband on your beautiful kitchen! And I sure am glad that we showed up! It is especially nice to create a kitchen for someone who loves to cook and entertain family and friends.

**★★★★★ — Todd, Dec. 2022**

> While we had done our best to design our new kitchen on our own, San Luis Kitchen provided insight into detail considerations that hadn't crossed our minds. They found solutions to seamlessly hide and integrate a load-bearing beam into the cabinet layout and design. Their cabinet installer was a true professional and master craftsman. The cabinet brands they are offer are top-of-the-line.
>
> We love how everything turned out!

**Comment from San Luis Kitchen Co.:**

> Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We enjoyed working with you both and am glad that we came up with a creative solution to make the window area look right - no one would ever know it was going to have an awkward look to it had we not worked our magic! I'm glad you trusted us with my unconventional solution to tie everything together. And our installer needs to read this review, it will make him feel great!

**★★★★★ — Teri Smee, Dec. 2022**

> Lee Anna and Sarah did a fantastic job on the design of our kitchen, pantry, laundry room, linen closet and bathrooms. They are both very detail oriented and great to work with. We would recommend them without hesitation!

**Comment from San Luis Kitchen Co.:**

> Thank you so much, Teri! We really enjoyed working with you and your husband, and your contractor, Greg Moore Construction. It is nice to have a cohesive team!

**★★★★★ — HU-87048994, Dec. 2022**

> We had matte laminate storage installed in a large kitchen and laundry room. They were very easy to work with. The products were ver good quality. Perfect installation by their installer. We are very pleased.

**Comment from San Luis Kitchen Co.:**

> Thank you so much! Your house is amazing and we are proud to have been a part of it! Our installer will be happy to hear this as well!

**★★★★★ — Tina O'Mahoney, Jan. 2021**

> Impressed! After checking out several cabinet companies for our kitchen remodel, we decided to go with San Luis Kitchen. They have a great selection and offer great ideas! Leanne spent the time to make sure we could get what we wanted and made sure everything went according to plan. Despite COVID-19, she was able to make the entire remodel safe and smooth. We are extremely happy with our kitchen and would recommend San Luis Kitchen to everyone!

**Comment from San Luis Kitchen Co.:**

> Thank you so much, Tina! We really enjoyed working with you and your husband on your kitchen, too! I want to get some photos soon!

**★★★★★ — Rosemary Merzoian, Dec. 2020**

> Lee Anna is a very talented and super-personable person. She showed great expertise as she guided us through discussing our ideas and designing our "dream" kitchen. She and her wonderful assistant, Sarah, incorporated their ideas and merged them with ours to produce what has become an outstanding feature of our new home. She was also very patient with us as several roadblocks postponed the beginning of construction by a couple of years. She understood our budget and other circumstances which made the process enjoyable.
> Her enthusiasm is contagious. Her staff is very professional, yet genuinely friendly. We love our kitchen and feel that Lee Anna has also become a good and trusted friend. We heartily recommend San Luis Kitchen Co. as the go-to kitchen design company for terrific kitchen designing, professionalism, honest pricing, and great communication.

**Comment from San Luis Kitchen Co.:**

> Wow! What a nice review! Thank you so much. Yes, we had a lot of fun working with you on your kitchen and being a part of your dream home! Thank you, Rosemary.

**★★★★★ — dawnadavies, Dec. 2020**

> We love our new kitchen! Lee Anna and Sara's expertise made our house into a cherished home. Our fantastic contractor highly recommended San Luis Kitchen, and we're glad that we took their advice. We had struggled for long time with a dated kitchen with limited function. Today we have a thoughtful, well-planned, and stunning kitchen that resolved past issues and will take us into the next 30 years. There were some production delays with materials that were a slight speedbump, but Lee Anna's strong advocacy for our project behind the scenes kept things moving forward well. We highly recommend San Luis Kitchen for any bathroom or kitchen remodels, and will continuing telling anyone that is seeking an outstanding designer, "Just call San Luis Kitchen!"

**★★★★★ — HU-330797688, Dec. 2020**

> In a year with so much stress I am happy to give SanLuis Kitchen an outstanding rating. First they did cabinets in my dinning room, then they re did my kitchen and next year they will do my theater room. LeeAnna, who is the owner, is also an architecture grad from CalPoly and has been in business in SLO almost forever. She has a remarkable showroom on Broad/227, has an excellent assortment of products and knows them well. The installers San Luis Kitchen uses are the best and all her staff are genuinely nice and knowledgeable people. When I say they are good I am not kidding...they measure to 1/32nd of an inch. I have so much more storage now and replaced lazy susans with drawer systems that are a dream to work with...all LeeAnnas recommendation! I researched others before I decided on San Luis Kitchen...they do not compare.

**Comment from San Luis Kitchen Co.:**

> Thank you so much! It is nice to know that our customers appreciate how long we have been in business and that we graduated from Cal Poly in Architecture! We call what we do now "applied architecture" and are so happy that you are enjoying our work.

**★★★★★ — Martine McConnell, June 2020**

> Lee Anna was very helpful with ideas, design and layouts for our remodel. She was able to work around a very complex floor plan and was able to deliver a product with which we are very pleased. We have been enjoying this remodel for several months now and haven’t found anything we would like to change. Thank you Lee Anna and San Luis Kitchen Team.

**★★★★ — Erica Baltodano, Aug. 2018**

> We hired San Luis Kitchen to help us design and install new kitchen cabinets, dinning room cabinets, a bathroom vanity, built in desk, and media center. They offer one-stop shopping in terms of design and installation and because they are experienced and well-known in our community, they knew our general contractor and worked well with him. They offer a variety of design options, most of which are on display in their showroom, and if you have a unique vision, they can likely design it. The thing I liked best was the time they took the time to customize everything to our liking and point out the benefits and drawbacks of various design options. When they needed to troubleshoot (faulty third-party knobs; a fussy fridge and dishwasher panel), they did. They have an on site designer who helps prepare detailed images to help visualize the project before you decide on anything and the owner and her team visited the site on numerous occasions to take measurements and revisit the design before, during, and after our construction process. They coordinated with third-parties like the cabinet builder and granite company with much ease, taking those additional steps off my plate. The end product, in terms of appearance, quality, and functionality exceeded my expectations. The price point is on the higher end, but you pay for what you get and I can take comfort in knowing everything we purchased will last a lifetime or longer. Thank you LeeAnna, Jill, and Sarah!

**Comment from San Luis Kitchen Co.:**

> Thank you, Erica, for your thoughtful review. Hope you are still enjoying everything, and congratulations on your new position! As if you aren't busy enough, but hopefully you can still enjoy a home cooked meal with your family!

**★★★★★ — ksenija bjekovic, Jan. 2017**

> I remodeled my kitchen and was really happy with the work of and help from San Luis Kitchen Co.They have so many choices of cabinets to choose from. The cabinets are of amazing quality. I have remodeled 3 kitchens in the last 7 years and San Luis Kitchen was by far the best company I've worked with. They were willing to spend so much time just to understand and develop my crazy design ideas. In the end they did even more that I asked for.The installer was amazing. Fast and precise. They delivered and installed my kitchen one week earlier than agreed upon. They also have the best prices. I would recommend this company to anyone and everyone. Sena

> We hired SLK for a kitchen remodel in our 1958 ranch house -- they worked tirelessly to help us with our concept and vision for a fresh, modern and practical kitchen for our family - during and after-hours/weekends - meeting at their shop and our house. We started with ideas and the whole team at SLK guided us through selections for not only cabinets, but also countertops, tile options, and use of space and design concerns...all the way to installation and afterwards. Thanks to Jill, Lee Anna, Sarah and Andreas.

**★★★★★ — Therese Lewis, Dec. 2016**

> We hired San Luis Kitchen for a remodel of our kitchen. They provided lots of excellent advice. We had no idea there were so many choices of cabinets but Leanna and Jill helped us figure out what we wanted. They were very patient even after we changed our mind several times. The cabinets are in place and look beautiful. The quality is excellent. I would definitely recommend San Luis Kitchens if you are looking to remodel or a new construction.

**★★★★★ — User, Dec. 2016**

> San Luis Kitchens met all our desires with a bright, beautiful, and functional kitchen design. The materials and installation exceeded our expectations. Each step of the way they answered all our questions and met our needs. We are busy recommending them to our friends and showing off our new kitchen. One of the finest experiences I ve had in home remodeling.

**★★★★★ — Mary Ellen Brinkerhoff, Dec. 2016**

> Lee Anna O'Daniel, spent time with me in my kitchen listening to my ideas and discussing possibilities. This I think was very important step. She then presented me with a finished design that was spot on. It was perfect and very feasible for the space. She was there for the contractor to flesh out any questionable issues in the demo and rebuilding of the kitchen. The project was completed within two months. I could not be happier.

**★★★★★ — Randy K, Sept. 2016**

> Very friendly and helpful all the way through the process. Even helped me find contractors for some additional work. Even at the beginning of my kitchen remodel they shared a lot of good ideas without even knowing if I'd buy from them. Their approach of being so professional and sharing knowledge from the beginning made it an easy choice...even before I knew they had the best price.

> Since our house was built in the 70's, we're in the process of updating our bathrooms and kitchen. We chose San Luis Kitchen to build and install our cabinets because of the quality of their products and the design creativity of the owners. To date, we've finished the master bath and the cabinet are absolutely beautify!! Lee Ann, the owner, spent a great deal of time with us making sure that every detail of the job was perfect...she visited the project on at least 3 occasions to ensure that the measurements were exact. Their installer (Andraus) did an outstanding job of installing. He clearly takes great pride in his workmanship and showed a great deal of attention to every aspect of the job. Both my wife and I are extremely happy with San Luis Kitchen and the product, workmanship, and service they provided!!!

> We had a remodel of our kitchen done and were very pleased to have worked with San Luis Kitchen Co. They were very helpful and patient with the needs and wants of our cabinet design. They offered several options and ideas to help us make our kitchen as functional as possible. The precision with the measurements was excellent which made the installation of counter tops and cabinets go smoothly. Their suggestion for a contractor for this project was excellent and we have used him since then for other projects we have had done. We would highly recommend them to those who wish to have a wonderful remodel experience.

> We could not be more pleased with the finished product of our kitchen, dining room and living room remodel. San Luis kitchen provided the knowledge, personal contacts, and artistic flair that we needed in order to create a beautiful new living space out of our downtown San Luis home.

**★★★★★ — randyrea, Oct. 2014**

> Our kitchen remodel was completed in a timely manner with San Luis Kitchen Co. Their showroom is perfect for choosing the wood and styles for the cabinets. They have all the newest innovations on display. The design team came on-sight for precise measurements and to lay out all the options available. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful.

> We had our kitchen remodeled in 2014. It was a small difficult space to design. LeAnn, Jill and Sarah from San Luis Kitchens created a wonderful new layout that works great for us. They were very professional and creative and the cabinet design was excellent.

**★★★★★ — jamievoss17, Sept. 2014**

> We worked with Sarah and Lee Anna 10 years ago on a new kitchen. Everything needed to be changed, including removing and adding walls. They are an amazing team! The 3 dimensional computer renderings were extremely helpful enabling us to see the final kitchen, before we demolished the current one. We love our kitchen, and after 10 years would not change a thing!

**★★★★★ — provpw, Sept. 2014**

> Our overall project was a remodel of the kitchen, dining room and family room. San Luis Kitchen (SLK) was used to specifically design our new kitchen, including replacement of the cabinets and appliances. SLK provided options and detailed design of kitchen layout; provided assistance with selection of new appliances; measured repeatedly to ensure a "good fit";utilized their showroom to demonstrate cabinet interior/exterior features; effectively communicated with general contractor for coordination; utilized professionals to install cabinetry; maintained contact and timeliness throughout the project. Our initial budget for cabinetry was exceeded but that was due to decisions we made on the interior and exterior chosen cabinetry features.
>
> Overall, we are very pleased with the outcome of our remodeling project. SLK utilizes WoodMode Cabinets as their supplier. They have a very good relationship which is demonstrated during the cabinet build and the installed end product. We also observed good communication and coordination between SLK and our general contractor, Robertson Builders, Arroyo Grande.

**★★★★★ — ferranti\_n, Sept. 2014**

> San Luis Kitchen Co. was recommended by our neighbor, and after viewing their recent remodel, we hired them to remodel our kitchen. The design, cabinets etc are exactly what we needed, beautiful form and excellent function, and this is not easily done in a small space. Our kitchen is lovely.
> The staff at SLKCo are knowledgeable and provided 'Nordstrom quality' customer service. The Contractor and his crew, recommended by Lee Anna, were amazingly neat - yes neat, even through the demo of 80% of our first floor, and made the best suggestions.
> The scheduling of work, deliveries, installations was smooth and timely. This is our second kitchen remodel and if there should be a third or better yet, a new build, I want to hire San Luis Kitchen Co. again.

**★★★★★ — deasonl, Sept. 2014**

> When I purchased my 1950s beach home and decided to take the kitchen down to studs and begin again, I hired LeeAnna at San Luis Kitchen to help me with my kitchen remodel. She did an outstanding job; she walked me through every step of the process, worked with me tirelessly on selecting my beautiful European kitchen cabinets- style, color, finish, and hardware. LeeAnna is very detail oriented, and she designed my entire custom kitchen layout, which was included as part of the cost of the cabinets. Her design skills were absolutely worth every penny I spent, and she helped me work with the contractor to execute it all. I had never done a kitchen remodel prior to this, so her knowledge and expertise made the project go very smoothly, and she was very patient with me and explained everything ( sometimes more than once).
> I love my kitchen and every day I have the pleasure of enjoying its perfect design. It is a fairly small space and she was very creative ( brilliant, actually) in helping me make the most of the space I have. My friends always comment on how beautiful my kitchen is, so I am proud to have people in and show it off. I wouldn't change a thing!

Though our experience in the store made us feel very happy for our choice in going there to get cabinet design and pricing was far better than I had originally anticipated, it was our experience after the visit that I am reviewing.
>
> I never give out how much money I am willing or have to spend to any company, I let them design and quote costs to me, then I discuss financial options. It was clear to me that San Luis Kitchen felt as if though I may not be able to afford their services and more abundantly clear during our one and only communication with them. We had received word back that they felt the costs for our cabinets were too high and that they would talk to the dealer and try to negotiate. However they never mentioned what the costs were. This was the last time we had spoke. I never received a quote or any further information.
>
> For that they get one star. They were lovely to deal with when you visit their store, but behind the curtains we were left hanging.

**Comment from San Luis Kitchen Co.:**

> If I am remembering correctly, this was a young couple who wanted cabinets to a high ceiling (over 10') and a moveable large bookshelf on wheels to act as a door (unusual and difficult cabinet application to be successful). When I took them on a tour of the showroom, they wouldn't give me a budget and acted real iffy about even $20-25K price range. They were a "see what you can do . . . " type. After drawing the plan (walls only) to scale, I called them back to see if I could clarify a price range -- they wouldn't commit.
>
> Our policy is to only give free estimates if the client brings in a dimensioned floor plan with a rough idea of the kitchen layout desired. We do not provide free design, but base out design fees on the cabinetry budget for the project. Thus it is helpful to us (and to the customer) to establish a preliminary budget range as soon as possible. This helps avoid the very scenario Mr. Cunningham is complaining about; where we have to judge by sight what people will choose to afford -- I don't want to design something that the customer does not want to pay for and conversely, I don't want to not give someone the best that they can have. That's why we try to get the nasty money discussion on the table up front even though it is not nearly as fun a dreaming about the new kitchen.
>
> I am very sorry that they are unhappy, but I don't know if we were the right ones for their project.
>
> Sincerely, Sarah Day

Lee Anna was wonderful--she helped in so many ways large and small to ensure that our kitchen turned out exactly as we wanted it. > So much more than a design company! Lee Anna and Sarah are thorough professionals! They designed a kitchen for my husband and me, and we were so pleased that we asked them to design two bathroom remodels for us this year. We have a small condo, with storage challenges. Their ideas for room layout, storage solutions, and materials were so creative. They also put me in touch with other top-notch professionals: contractor, purveyor of fixtures, flooring and tile designers. I could always count on being able to get in touch with Lee Anna and Sarah by phone and email. It was a pleasure from start to finish! We love our new bathrooms!

> My husband and I highly recommend San Luis Kitchen for either kitchen or bathroom remodeling. Twelve years ago they remodeled our kitchen, and recently we had them redo our vanity area in our bathroom. I had a little of an idea of what I wanted, and Leanna directed us to a site that gave us some more ideas. She came to the house and measured precisely and we figured out exactly what we wanted her to design for us. She was meticulous in every last detail of the work, with measurements down to the fraction of an inch. She recommended a highly skilled and dependable contractor. After she designed and printed out a mock-up picture, we okayed it and waited about 8 weeks for the cabinets to arrive. Don O'Daniel put them in after the contractor demolished the old cabinets and prepared the site. We were extremely happy with the final outcome. Their work was highly professional, and Leanna made sure everything was done precisely until the project was completed.

> Our small kitchen was dark, felt claustrophobic, had dust traps, and poor traffic flow. Now the flow and usable work area are great in our small kitchen. The French Vanilla color cabinets are clean and bright. We included a glass panel on the top 1/3 of upper cabinets which really makes the space usable and yet airy, and I love the drawers on the lower cabinets, and the “lazy susan” corner units. Our refrigerator is unique and the solution to cover the refrigerator was innovative and effective – it looks beautiful.

> We recently worked with San Luis Kitchens to remodel our kitchen. The San Luis Kitchens showroom in San Luis Obispo is by far the best place to see examples of the various styles and color of cabinets and how they look with different counter tops and in different configurations. The amount of choices in remodeling a kitchen can be a bit overwhelming, but we worked with the owner, Lee Anna, and her suggestions and recommendations helped us to fine tune our choices, even down to the finish (we chose a matte finish for our cabinets and a leathered granite for our counter tops to give us a more organic and less shiny feel to the space). Lee Anna is a truly dedicated and creative designer with many years of experience. She is a great resource for appliances and fixtures as well! She really listened to what we were saying we wanted and needed. She also helped us stay within our budget while achieving the look and functionality we desired. There are many great options when it comes to the cabinet glass and cabinet hardware choices and we made great selections without having to upgrade on those aspects. We absolutely love our cabinets and are so impressed with the quality and features such as the soft close doors and the roll-out shelves. The corner lazy susan cabinet is so amazing and provides easy access and great storage. Lee Anna was personally involved with us throughout the project from the design stage, construction phase and through cabinet and counter top installation. She is committed to ensuring her customers are happy and the outcome of the project is perfect and those high standards are evident in the who she selects to install the cabinetry. When it comes to installation, Andreas is the consummate professional and a master of precision! We could not be happier with our experience with San Luis Kitchens. Lee Anna and her assistant Sara are great to work with and we would not hesitate to go back to San Luis Kitchens for another kitchen remodel!

> San Luis Kitchen Company is hands down the best in the industry. They took my sad, falling apart, dysfunctional kitchen and turned it into a beautiful, well-organized workspace. Although my kitchen is somewhat on the small side, they were able to incorporate all the bells and whistles of organization, my favorite being the slide-out pantry. They also incorporated a wonderful spice cabinet, lazy susan, spice pullout, and cookie sheet cabinet. The layout is so efficient for cooking, even with multiple people in the kitchen. I chose the "Driftwood" style, and just love it. The cabinets have a high-quality finish, and the drawers and cabinets close softly which is so nice with a little one in the house! Lee Anna and Sara were so knowledgeable and a joy to work with. I will definitely use them again in the future when we're ready to remodel our bathrooms! > It was definitely a pleasure to work with Mark and Ali! And their kitchen was featured in the local Cambria Kitchen Tour a few years back....It is always a team effort with us - incorporating as many of the client's ideas as we can, while offering suggestions for them to pick from. In the case of their kitchen, they initially thought it could only go back in essentially the same peninsula arrangement that it was, but we showed them a completely different plan with a large island - oriented at 90 degrees to the existing peninsula, and that is what they went with in the end - had a much better relationship to the rest of the great room.

> I first discovered San Luis Kitchen in 2005. I was embarking on a major remodel on a home just purchased. The remodel included the main house kitchen, the pool house kitchen and the bathrooms. I found Lee Anna and her staff to be excellent at what they do. Incorporating my wish list and creating a design that is beautiful and functional, and the quality of her product is outstanding. > Their process did not work for me at all. Don't get me wrong, the installation was fine and quality of the cabinets is very good. But in terms of providing design advice, I think they are mediocre. I felt that every time I was on the right track with my design, they discouraged me, and every time I got on the wrong track they encouraged me. I am really not happy with the new kitchen layout. The original kitchen was more pleasing to the eye, the only trouble with it was the cabinets were cheap Thermafoil (a nice white, though), and the counters were tile with grout which is hard to clean. I asked for white cabinets but was discouraged from getting them, because they were "more expensive" and "why would you want it to look exactly the same" ...so we went with dark wood recommended by SL Kitchen..really wish had not listened to them and had gone with my gut.
>
> The very worst thing of many design disappointments was that they totally confused us about how the countertop selection process would go with their recommended fabricator. We were treated very rudely by the woman at the fabrication company, the process with them did not go at all as indicated by SLKitchen and were completely on our own to make selections with materials we were totally unfamiliar with. Don't choose granite and tile on your own if you have never done it before! We ended up with a counter that totally clashes with the tile floor. Floor is pink-brown, counter is green gold. I thought they were both just beige, in my naïveté.. The day the granite was installed, I went to bed, pulled the covers over my head and cried for 24 hours.
>
> I am depressed every time I walk into my very expensive new kitchen. I am pretty devastated.
>
> This business is okay to use if you already have kitchen remodeling experience or know exactly what you want. Otherwise, hire an interior designer to help you get something that looks fresh, coordinated and up with current trends. Would be worth every penny spent.

**Comment from San Luis Kitchen Co.:**

> I am obviously sorry this client is not happy with their new kitchen, and this is the first I have heard of it. One thing that I AM happy about is that we finally have a photo of the end result and while we agree that the floor and counter do not complement each other, the view looking into the kitchen is as nice as many I have seen on Houzz! The funny part is that we have actually used this kitchen over the last couple years in classes to demonstrate what an improvement our design layout was over the original!
>
> The owners (particularly the husband) pointed out how in their original tract house kitchen, you could not open the dishwasher and the refrigerator at the same time and the dishwasher blocked the entrance into the kitchen. The peninsula was at a weird angle, very awkward looking, and the sink was on that angle, instead of being in front of the window, where it should have been. It created a space in the far corner that they complained was "useless", (too small and awkward for a table), where we added a built-in desk, also facing out another window, making a pleasant place to work. There is more counter space than before (I have never heard of anyone complaining about too much counter space), and the dishwasher no longer obstructs traffic flow.
>
> We do not even claim to provide interior design services, so it seems very unfair to give us a miserable rating because they chose colors on their own that they are not happy with now....We have displays of cabinetry in both the white (which she claims we talked her out of...??...), and the "candlelight" (which is what she purchased), so she was able to view both colors in large areas. We do not force people to buy any certain color as color is so subjective - we just offer many choices and let them decide.
>
> We did not sell them the flooring, but I am thinking that there may be a way to tone down the "pink" in it if they were to contact whoever they bought it from, assuming it is real stone. What is strange is that the flooring we actually show with the "candlelight" cabinets in our showroom has more of the golden tones like their counter top, so had they gone with our choice, they would have had a better result in our opinion. It is always possible with natural stone, that they received a batch that did not match their sample.... Another thing that is very strange about this is that they really liked the contractor I found for them, and he told me they were very happy and that the kitchen turned out great - one of the best he has seen! Anyway, I am hoping they will contact whoever they bought the floor from and get them to tone down the pink, and I think they will be much happier. I think the counter looks great with the cabinets - it has the "garnet" flecks that pick up the "candlelight" red tones... It is a great looking kitchen, other than the pinkish floor!
>
> Please see the "before and after" plans and photos below and judge for yourself. (they can be enlarged by holding your mouse over each). Also, we have told many of our devoted customers about this post and they are flabbergasted because they know we do not "talk people into anything they don't want". This complaining client borrowed the door sample in the "candlelight" color (one of our top sellers) for weeks before ordering. Had she told us she wanted white at the time of order, we certainly would have obliged, and we have lots of white kitchens in our repertoire!

  - Description: A young couple came to us wanting a kitchen with lots open space. They knew that they liked the contrast available with dark cabinets, white counters and light flooring. When we showed them the matte ebony finish on oak -- a black stain with the wood grain still subtly visible -- they saw it was the right choice for their home. While deciding to retain a single wall cabinet for dish & glassware storage, the floating shelves on the end wall and open peninsula give the airy space that they wanted.…

  - Description: The owners of a charming home in the hills west of Paso Robles recently decided to remodel their not-so-charming kitchen. Referred to San Luis Kitchen by several of their friends, the homeowners visited our showroom and soon decided we were the best people to design a kitchen fitting the style of their home. We were delighted to get to work on the project right away. When we arrived at the house, we found a small, cramped and out-dated kitchen. The ceiling was low, the cabinets old fashioned and…

## Community Q&A

**Q: backsplash tiles** *(in Photo Questions)*

Would you share the name and color of backsplash tiles?
Thank you.

A: We did the overall cabinet design/space planning and provided the custom cabinets. Our client chose the backsplash tile themselves from another source and I don't have any information on it. Sorry! Thanks for liking our kitchen.

**Q: Cabinet line/color** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hi, do you remember what cabinet line and wood/stain this is? Thank you

A: Maple. For some reason that didn't come through on my answer above.

**Q: what is the cabinet paint color?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Love the color. I'm building a house and would like to use it for my kitchen cabinets.

A: It was a few years ago and the customer brought us a paint chip called "Russian Olive". We then had Wood-Mode, our custom cabinet maker, create a "Cottage" finish using the green with dark glazes applied over it. I expect it will be difficult to duplicate in the field. You could explore finding a Wood-Mode dealer in your area. Thanks, San Luis Kitchen

**Q: what are the wall and island colors?** *(in Photo Questions)*

What are the paint colors for the yellow walls and green island?

A: Hi -- the island is a custom color by Wood-Mode which is a 'distressed cottage' version based on a green called Russian Olive. The homeowner chose the wall color and I do not have the details.
Thanks for your interest, San Luis Kitchen

**Q: What kind of stone is the flooring?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hi -- thanks for your interest, however the homeowner purchased the flooring on their own and I do not have specific information on it. Sorry I couldn't help you more. Sarah Day, San Luis Kitchen

**Q: What is the countertop material & what is the wood on lower cabinets?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Love the two toned cabinets.

A: Hi -- the counters are a honed limestone. The base cabinets are knotty pine by Wood-Mode in a "Toast" finish. If you are in the San Luis Obispo area we would love to have you stop by our showroom - we have lots to show you. We also host Free Design Seminars on a monthly basis -- call us at 805-541-7117 if you would like to attend one. Thanks! Sarah Day, San Luis Kitchen
