The job consisted of selecting paint, furniture, curtains and room design. Lee was always informed, organized and timely. She provided ideas and choices of providers. Obviously, I highly recommend working with Lee in any capacity that you are able. **★★ — karellee, Oct. 2013** > First, I wish I could give a half star as the job was a bit better than okay and deserves 2 and 1/2 stars. Second, Lee did a total redesign and gut renovation of my kitchen, dining room and living room area as well as work in other rooms. Lee is very enthusiastic about her work and you know she enjoys what she does. Her ideas were good and she is very creative, easy to work with, listens to you and was never a know it all. However there were a lot of mistakes: some of which were mine and some hers. For instance, her design of my kitchen did not leave a lot of room for the refrigerator and we had a very limited choice of units. The unit she chose was a small GE which fit the space but was awful: I had to bend all the way down to the floor to get to the bins ( which I never used), had wire shelves which allowed small containers to slip through, did not come with a shelf in the freezer ( which I had to buy) and which I just replaced after only 2 years of use. My mistake: not insisting I see and "touch" the actual unit- her mistake- the visual for the practical. Additionally, the lighting in the kitchen area was not sufficient and the fixtures of poor quality. Her design called for a fan in the space between the kitchen and the extension but the ceiling could not accommodate the fan and I was 'out' the cost of the fan. The under counter lights are hot and don't provide sufficient light and are unusable. I'm currently doing repairs and fixes and all the lighting is being redone and replaced. Third, I needed to replace the master bathroom floor. I picked three colors of little round tiles and approved the design. I came home the day the work was done and saw that one color of tile was not used, the design was not what we agreed on and I was never consulted. When I asked Lee why the third color wasn't used she said she and the tile guy thought it was better with just two colors! I do not like the out come but will live with it as I do not want to go to the expense to replace the tile. Finally, I agreed to recover two swivel rockers and an ottoman that are in my living room. We picked fabric, the pieces were reupholstered and returned. Everything looked very nice however within weeks the fabric showed very obvious signs of wear. Lee brought in the upholsterer and someone from the company that made the fabric and every one pointed a finger at each other. The result: I just bought new fabric of a different type from a different manufacturer and had the pieces redone after only two years of use. **Comment from S. Lee Wright Ltd.:** > Every design project, especially a full gut renovation of an existing apartment in Manhattan with a limited budget and strict building management will result in many challenges. > > Many of the issues noted in this review are “news” to our team. The last time we met with the client, about a year ago, the project was considered a great success and a rave review in writing was provided. We are sorry to hear of long-term issues with this project. > > The long-term relationships we wish to have with our clients come from a two-way communications. We were never told about or given the opportunity to resolve the lighting, refrigerator or the fabric concerns after our first discussion. It looks odd half under the chair. But perhaps you have a reason? A: The placement of the rug is always a matter of personal taste but also one of function. In this case, the rug was placed as a grounding for the furniture and the slate flooring was to remain exposed in the area in front of the radiator for purposes of keeping the rug clean (not to track in dirt from the garden) and as well the window itself on the left side of the photo swings open therefore the seating is going to be more on the other side thus the purposes of the location. **Q: What kind of windows are they?** *(in Photo Questions)* Do they have full screens? A: This is a pre fab addition to the house which came as a kit. I do not recall the manufacturer right now. The screens are on the windows that open but not the doors or the panels below the windows since they do not open. We retrofitted a screen panel door to the double doorway though as the bugs made it impossible to leave the doors open in the summer. **Q: curtains on the screen** *(in Photo Questions)* regular curtains with any special hardware or installation requirements? A: I used curtain wire hardware in this case to minimize the look of the hanging and to highlight the curtains themselves as they will be closed in the winter and open in the summer. **Q: Where's the sectional from?
