I think of how I would decorate around what they have created. They have taken an old piece of furniture and not only transformed it into something that will be the center of a room. I hated the wood cabinets, so I painted them white. Now the cabinets stick out like a soar thumb against my cream counter tops. I like cool colors, specifically blues and greys. I painted the walls Behr Ash Violet. I'm hoping to find a shower curtain with some grey & yellow, grey towels. I'd like to paint the cabinets a neutral light grey, but I'm afraid it will clash too much with the counter & tile floors. Any thoughts about the cabinets or anything else? I really appreciate the help! A: Oh, cool. lol now I kinda remember that cute owl. So great..... **Q: chair information** *(in Design Dilemma)* does any one know the style, history and value of these vintage chairs? A: re-upholster in a great contemporary fabric and paint the legs. Or economically, find great contrasting pillows to add pazazz! **Q: Paint question for kitchen** *(in Design Dilemma)* What paint color should we use for our kitchen? Maple cabinets (natural), floor tile is the one with stripes, other is granite. Backsplash not yet picked. Floor not grouted yet :) A: Beautiful warm grays... Warm Chinchila, and Nimbus Cloud... Valspar. have it in my home. love it everyday! **Q: What color to stain the new stairs/railings?** *(in Design Dilemma)* This weekend I plan on tackling this project and was thinking about stain color. The 2 pics below show the new floor and the railings. The family room (not connected to the area I'm staining) will have Minwax English Chestnut floor stain. I was thinking of going with that for the stairs and railing as well. Any thoughts?? A: Timeless By Color I have to agree with RJHoppe Inc. Contrast would pop. I was thinking the same thing.. paint the spindles white, then stain a darker version of Chestnut, nice and deep if you can mix it yourself for a great contrast on the hand rail and post! **Q: Old cabinets---great quality, ugly color!** *(in Design Dilemma)* Any advice? Don't want to spend the money on new custom cabinets, but the light maple wood is almost pink....any experience with painting or re-finishing? A: If it were my kitchen, I'd paint the cabinets a gorgeous med. gray! I think I see gray in your granite counter top. Put some cool handles on, and there ya go! Gray is the new "forever netural" color. Sultry, deep, and beautiful. And not the same old thing. Not that white isn't wonderful. I love it too. But the gray will give the room a fresh contemporary feel. **Q: bright colored sofas** *(in Design Dilemma)* does anyone know of a website, or other, thats sells very bright colored sofas?
