Many clients have become close friends and the “business” is really a lifestyle. Art is an integral part of my life and I've been a ceramic potter for 28 years. I'm also a volunteer art teacher in a public school teaching 6th grade kids art with a strong emphasis on loving and protecting the environment and animals. Two of the three designers colored within the lines I set out. Jaci Springfield immediately busted through them. She explained that she would be happy to help with the family room, but thought it would be wise to make some more sweeping reforms of other parts of the house first, if we could afford them, in order to create a coherent look. Then, without charging a dime for this initial consult, she outlined a series of flooring, architectural, and reconstruction "fixes" that she thought would take our 1960s home from "pleasant" to "showcase." None of them were ideas from which she would profit, but my husband and I could instantly see (through her eyes) that all of them would allow us to love our home in a new way. Long story short, we took all of Jaci's marvelous and creative ideas, then worked with her to refurnish and redecorate. In the end, even the old family room got a makeover that has us enjoying every minute in a space we had pretty much stopped using. Now it's ours again!
