### Reviews

**★★★★★ — Megan Zottoli, Jan. 2018**

> We are incredibly happy with our new kitchen cabinets from A. Wilson Designs Inc. They are perfectly tailored for our quirky cape from 1840 that has inconsistent measurements throughout. They are beautiful—classic and well made—easily the nicest furniture in our home. Andrew is fantastic to work with. He the perfect blend of easy-going, professional, and perfectionist. His communication skills are superb. He kept in contact about decisions and timeframe. The project was A. Wilson Designs!

> A. Wilson worked with my wife and I to design the remodel of our kitchen. We provided him with many pictures to help him get a feel for what we liked and didn't like. Andrew came to our home to talk through our questions and provide suggestions. The project was completed quite quickly in order to ensure we had a functional kitchen within days. We were surprised by how quickly they finished and we are thrilled with the results. It came out exactly as we had hoped, We wouldn't change a thing. The cabinets came out really well, the crown molding, built in window valance, refrigerator built in, and glass cabinet doors with lighting were great touches. The quality of the cabinets is top shelf, as is the hardware. In addition, the walnut island is beautiful, a real show piece. Andrew coordinated the whole project, scheduling all the subcontractors (electrician, plumber, carpenters, etc.). This was a huge help to us and well worth it. Beyond our total satisfaction with the work itself, the best aspect of the whole experience was how comfortable we were with Andrew and his crew (especially Ray). The communication was quick and clear, and we had total trust that A. Wilson Designs would treat us with respect and honesty. We trusted them in our home any time and to always provide us with advice that was in our best interest. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to friends.

> Andrew Wilson and A Wilson Designs designed our new kitchen and pantry/mudroom, built the cabinets, and oversaw the complete project, which required completely demolishing the old kitchen and making structural changes to our home.
>
> The new kitchen is GORGEOUS. It has changed the character of our entire home and we love spending time in it cooking and entertaining. Just walking by this kitchen is a delight. Drew gave us everything we asked for and was a pleasure to work with. His attention to the smallest detail resulted in a high-end custom-designed kitchen that has transformed our home.

> A. Wilson Designs transformed our house into a home! Andrew's talented design skills and woodworking craftsmanship is unmatched. Everything from start to finish: communication, professionalism, attention to detail and genuine caring attitude made our project run seamlessly. We had a vision and A. Wilson Designs brought it to life! We feel fortunate to have worked with Andrew and his team and would hire them again in a heartbeat.
> Thank you A. Wilson Designs!

> During the construction of the Peter T. Paul College building on the University of New Hampshire Durham campus we were looking to add a feature that brought together a local artisan, local materials and alumni. We found what we were looking for in Andrew Wilson and A. Wilson Designs, Inc. Andrew worked with us to design a "rustic" table for the Great Hall of the building. The Great Hall is the building's living room and a space where students gather throughout the day. Andrew spent most of his time listening to our vision and desired outcome, and then presented us with a design that hit the mark. The table was delivered in time for the building's dedication this past May, and it has assumed a prominent location in the Great Hall. I am happy to report that the table has become a favorite spot for students to gather to study or share a cup of coffee over lunch. Andrew exceeded our expectations and his table is now part of the fabric of the Paul College building.

> I worked with Andrew Wilson this past summer. I needed a renovation to my home, to create an expanded bathroom and a new downstairs bedroom that was wheelchair accessible. Andrew did a fantastic job. Andrew acted as the general contractor, and coordinated the work with several volunteers. The finished product was outstanding. I have no reservations about recommending A. Wilson designs to anyone.

> Through all aspects of the bathroom vanity we hired Andrew and the A Wilson Designs team to build for us (from design options, creativity and details to articulating an accurate time frame and actually meeting it) we could not have been more pleased with Andrew's work. It is a rarity and a pleasure when you can combine top-quality work with a top-quality person/people and that is exactly what you get when you hire Drew and his team.

**★★★★★ — Diane Moore, July 2013**

> Very professional, from design consultation to install of our kitchen cabinetry, we are very pleased with the end result.
> Highly recommend!

**★★★★★ — jaymcsharry, April 2013**

> A. Wilson Design hit a home-run on my house! On time and on budget. My cabinets really make the house pop. My kitchen is the center-piece to the house and really creates a special feeling. Very accommodating and enjoyable to work with.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Wood and counters** *(in Photo Questions)*

What wood are the cabinets and what are the countertops?

A: Clear vertical grain (cvg) Douglas Fir cabinets, concrete counter tops.

**Q: Can you provide the cabinets paint color and brand? Thank you!** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Ben Moore Hampshire Gray HC-101. I think it contrasts nicely with the natural wood, black counters, and stainless appliances.

**Q: What type of woods** *(in Photo Questions)*

What type of wood was used in this cabinet. Or has it just been stained different colors?

A: The wood is Sea grass figured Mahogany. There are many variations of mahogany and so there end up being color variations within the boards you get from the lumber yard, hence the difference in tone. I used a shellac base coat and then a Candlelight wiping stain over that before varnishing the piece. That process produces a much richer finish and sets off the figure nicely. The base is just painted black.

**Q: what type of floor is this? like how coordinates with VGDF cabinets.** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Just basic 2 1/4" red oak hardwood. Yes, it looks very warm.

**Q: Where did you get the drawer pulls?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: I'm sorry, but I do not know where they came from.

**Q: Hardware?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Could you please tell me who makes this hardware? Thank you.

A: The drawer parts and slides are made by Blum, and they call it the Tandembox system. We (the cabinetmakers) add plywood bottom and back pieces, then assemble the parts to complete the drawer. Very high quality, looks good and works well.
