> We built our home in 2004, until you have to start replacing things on your home is when you find out the quality of work. 5 years in our A/C outdoor unit stopped working, when we got it fixed found out that what was installed was a refurbished unit not the new unit that was on our plans that we paid for. I did contact Hallmark homes at the time and only got that it was out of warranty and that we should have check when it was getting built. Who checks inside of an outdoor A/C unit.
> Next thing that happened was that the pipes froze in one of our bathrooms, when we took out the surround tub behind the tub were the duct work for the furnace was, actual trash was left inside the walls of our house. And we found no insulation between wall and the attic part of the garage, no wonder the pipes froze.
> This year we unfortunately got hit by a tornado with wind and hail damage to the outside of our house, yesterday they started pulling off the original siding and found there is no house wrap on our house! Not only that the OSB board have 1" to 2" gaps in them, you can see the inner drywall from between the gaps, meaning there is no insulation in the wall!! It now makes since over the past 19 years why our home has had so many drafts. We are now going to have to pay out of our pockets for the water damage caused by not having house wrap under the siding and fixing all the OSB board that are gapped. Unless you have time to be at you home while it is being built 24/7 do not contract with Hallmark Homes.

> We made the decision to downsize and had an existing house to sell before starting to build a new one. The President of Hallmark Homes, Paul Schwinghammer, became our real estate agent AND builder. Paul sold our house within 1 month and assisted us in finding property to build on. From the start, we told Paul what monthly payment we needed. We were able to choose the Remington plan and make several upgrades and add a powder room to the existing plan. Paul was very positive and friendly and we could tell he was honestly invested in helping us financially. We were impressed with the notebook given to us at the pre-construction meeting that included an estimated time frame and what to expect each week. Making selections was a positive experience for us and we appreciated the assistance we received from Anita Knepp. When we frantically called her, after we thought we were done, to change colors, she was so nice and said it was no problem at all. The construction manager, Nathan Morris, consistently kept in contact with us weekly and any time we had questions. We were allowed to walk through the house any time, any hour, through the entire process which made it exciting for us. All the subcontractors were pleasant and friendly. All the office staff were exceptionally kind and professional. We broke ground on August 20th, 2015 and closed on Dec 23, 2015 when we were handed the keys to our beautiful house. We documented the progress of the build on facebook and have recommended Hallmark Homes to all of our friends. Everyone that has visited so far LOVE the house. It is a quality house for a reasonable price! We look forward to this new chapter in our lives and making new memories in our home that is perfectly built for us.

> After a tornado struck our home in November of 2014, the owner and our prior general contractor at Hallmark Homes traveled to Kokomo and agreed to reconstruct our house. These professionals demonstrated excellent workmanship. Hallmark had our original floor plans and constructed our home in 1998. Going with our original contractor made our life easier from our rental and make a world of difference. Contractor, Doyle Henry, developed a game-plan, worked with us every step of the way, and placed us back in our home within the budget of our insurance carrier, Liberty Mutual. Our home seems like a new home and is in better shape than pre-tornado. We were very blessed to have the owner and the professionals at Hallmark assist us in everything from changing the flooring to repairing joists, drywall and rebuilding our entire garage. All subcontractors worked competently, met each deadlines and worked within our budget. We needed a new roof, new bricks that matched the pre-existing color and aesthetic design of our former brick, new screens, new heating and cooling, new windows, removal of insulation and cleaning of all cabinets, installation of a new gas fireplace, new flooring in our entire house from winds and wet carpet, new plaster and plasterboard throughout much of our home, and installation of new wiring, a new attic, a new garage, and all the little things like a new ladder to the attic, new outside lighting and special paint colors in the bedroom. We are thankful for Hallmark and Liberty Mutual who worked together well. You are welcome to take pictures of our home. Thanks Hallmark.

> Hallmark Homes built our home in 2009. We took one of their blueprints and made modifications to make our house perfect for us. It was a pretty good blend of "package" home (e.g., they had standard subs e.g., for carpet, cabinetry, flooring) which helped narrow down some of the options we had to decide on. But we also wanted some custom touches (e.g., bronze lighting and plumbing fixtures, gourmet kitchen appliances) which we could get credit for in their costing, and pay for ourselves. We had some design changes during construction (some were our decisions, some were framer errors), but Mr. Schwinghammer was most helpful in getting resolution to the issues to our satisfaction.

> Now that we've been in the home a few years, we've had some mixed experience with the home warranty. We apparently had a "lemon" with the first heat pump they installed. But Hallmark replaced it, and we've not had additional issues. We also had a cabinet that was not properly installed, but they replaced and installed a new cabinet for no cost. However, I recently called about a defective window, and was told I would just have to call Anderson and work with them. I have no idea who to call or how to do that since the windows were provided through the builder. But for the most part, it has been positive.
>
> We have a very special home that definitely represents our taste and design requirements. I would use Hallmark again if we build another home, and I've recommended them to other friends who were looking for a custom builder.

**Comment from HALLMARK HOMES:**

> Thanks Charlene. Yes, Andersen prefers to deal with our homeowners directly especially once they are past our warranty period. Their number is 888-888-7020. They will ask for some numbers off the window that are located in the bottom corner. Hope this helps!

> My wife and I were looking for a home and asked Paul Schwinghammer, President of Hallmark Homes, to show us one that his company had on the market. We really liked the home but because of my hectic work schedule we asked a lot of Paul and Hallmark Homes in terms of price and upgrades to the home. Much to our surprise they did accommodate our requests and we quickly agreed to a contract. The mortgage originator from our bank reviewed the deal and shared with us that we got a great deal. Paul has been very easy to work with throughout this process. He has been patient, friendly, and reliable. Paul Schwinghammer and Hallmark Homes lived up to their very positive reputation. I would highly recommend to anyone that they talk to Hallmark if they are considering building or buying a home.

> I highly recommend Hallmark Homes. I have built 5 homes with them since 1993 from the ground up and have got nothing but the highest quality of workmanship, and always end up with home equity. They pay attention to detail and code, along with excellent communication. The sales staff is friendly and yet meticulous. You can pay less or more for a home, however for the money, you will not find a better quality home. They have several pre-designed homes to choose from, or you take the custom home route. I have completed both.
> My biggest personal lesson from building 5 homes was I learned to be patient. Patients equals quality in the end. 5 Stars.

> Hallmark Homes is a wonderful example of what builders should be... respectful, efficient and customer-focused. Our experience with Hallmark was nothing short of extraordinary. They did what they said they would do, completed their work ahead of time and the work itself was of exceptional quality. Beyond this, Hallmark came in and "cleaned up" a mess left by a previous builder. What a relief it was to hand the project over the Hallmark and watch it completed with integrity. We cannot say enough good things about our experience with Hallmark, and would feel confident in recommending them to anyone.

**★★★★★ — chris\_rexroat, April 2015**

> Built a new house with Hallmark that included many things the way we wanted. They had several people during the building process (and before and after) to help/assist us in getting us the details of the house we wanted. They will provide you with everything you need /want in building your 'dream home'. And for prices that are probably better than the competition. If you want a high quality product and great service, I would recommend Hallmark.

**★★★★★ — Sandy & Dan, March 2015**

> My wife and I were ready to give up building a custom home until we found Hallmark. We looked at them because they fell within budget for the actual main home structure. (Other builders wanted for the main structure what we had budgeted for the structure and the land!) We were impressed enough during our initial meeting to go with them. Hallmark was very easy to work with through all aspects of designing and building a custom home. We came to them with an idea and floor plan we designed and they handled translating it to blueprints. They're very flexible in accommodating material and design choices that fall outside their norm. Our construction manager was easy to work with, very knowledgeable, and communicative. He was, as well, very accommodating with us overseeing the details that were important to us (bugging him almost daily). We are now living in our dream house that my wife and I took no less than two years getting every last design detail right before we approached Hallmark. The the home they built exceeded our expectations!
>
> I might sound like a paid endorsement, but I'm not. We are just that happy with what Hallmark did for us. We're not paid for this endorsement, nor are we connected in any way to them. We liked them so much, we actually convinced them to build two accessory buildings for us that we are equally happy with.

> We were looking to do a remodel/demolition/add-on, and didn't know where to find a builder that we could trust would do a good job for us. Then a highly respected farmer in our area was having a remodeling project done by Hallmark, and we knew we had found our builder! Right from the first meeting, we felt comfortable that we had a company that understood all the things we desired in a home. They gave us ideas we had not thought of, and at the second meeting were pretty much pleased with the drawings, hardly any changes to be made! We were set up with a project manager that was a perfect fit; he was always available and on the site several times a week. We trusted him to tackle any unforeseen problems, and he and the quality of the subs was always very professional. There were some delays that we weren't expecting, some due to weather and some due to scheduling conflicts, but in the end....we've got a beautiful quality-built custom home that we love. Thank you, Hallmark Homes for giving me the farm home I only used to dream about!
