> Michelle did a fantastic job of guiding us. She told exactly what we needed to do to make our house appealing. She gave us simple tips to make our house easy to sell. We did everything she told us to do. We sold our in less than 3 hours!

> It was a honor to be able to work with Michelle Kidd. I don't say this lightly. My house had been on the market for over a year with little interest shown in it. In our first meeting, Michelle toured the house, took photographs and provided me with her initial impressions. Within a few days we met again to talk about our mutual thoughts and goals. Her eye and sense of color and placement were remarkable. Even more than that, she understood the house and made suggestions that would best represent it. She was knowledgeable, professional and a pleasure to work with. I loved my house and under her expertise, it blossomed. My friends and family were stunned by the transformation. So was I. I wish that I had met her when I moved in.

> Michelle was cognizant of my budget and helped me to work within it. For example, some rooms we chose to leave undecorated. She provided décor as well as advice in choosing items that I purchased myself. Her willingness to be flexible within my budget was invaluable.

> House selling is difficult and stressful at the best of times. I can honestly say that Michelle made it easier. If I hadn't moved out of state I would use her services again. Oh, and the house sold in about 3 months.

> Michelle provided us with a "staging" service before listing our home in New Albany, OH for sale. She was excellent! She has great visual acuity and was able to tactfully make suggestions that would open our space and make the home "show off." Like so many other home sellers, we were attached more to the possessions in the house, than to the actual walls and floors. Michelle was great at helping us migrate through those waters. We sold in 10 days. Bravo, Michelle.

> We were given Michelle's name when we sold our home this year
> with HERealtors. Michelle was very helpful and made our home look like
> a photo out of a magazine. I really believe that the house sold so quickly
> partly due to the staging. When she came to set up and take down,
> it went very well and was efficient.

> Michelle Kidd sold my house without a doubt. My house sat on the market for 6 months. She staged my house and it sold to the first person that saw it after the staging. She is such a nice person, easy to work with. She had a lot of helpful ideas of things I could do to make things look better. If I ever had to sell another house I would have her stage it from the start.

> We hired Michelle Kidd Design to provide a staging plan for our entire house and to professionally stage a few rooms in the house we were selling as well as to provide us with a color map and design plan for our new home. It was a fantastic experience in both cases. Michelle tailors her services to your needs and desires. We are largely do-it yourselfers but appreciated having a designer’s eye to help point us in the right direction. Her rates were very reasonable and her services were highly effective. Our home sold in just over a week and her advice for our new home was spot-on. I have already recommended her company to several individuals selling their home or thinking of re-designing their current space.

> Michelle Kidd Designs is a top-notch staging and interior design business. We hired Michelle to stage two of our homes that we needed to sell quickly because we were combining households and expecting a baby. Michelle's expert eye on how to recreate a space allowed us to sell both of houses within one week! She was easy to schedule, extremely professional, and very friendly. Michelle far exceeded our expectations. I was a little skeptical of staging services, in general, but after my realtor suggested to hire one and after working with Michelle, I am a STRONG BELIEVER that Michelle allowed us to get a higher purchase price in a shorter amount of time. We loved her so much, we brought her into our new home to give us her interior styling advice.

> Buying and selling your home can be an overwhelming and frustrating process. Working with Michelle helped make it a little easier!

> Michelle transformed my family room and master bedroom. I am blown away by her creativity and ability to make these rooms so functional, comfortable and beautiful. My family and I are overwhelmed by the stunning transformation. We love our renewed spaces!!!! Thank you!!!!

> I hired Michelle Kidd for room makeovers. I had recently installed wood floors and wanted a new look but needed some help with design. Michelle took the time to understand my budget and my taste. Her process was to show me choices and have me select what I wanted, or in some cases, she selected for me and I only had to give my final approval. It was very convenient that she was also offered installation services for curtains, art work, etc. The result of her work has been beautifully updated rooms that I enjoy every day!

**★★★★ — dianacn12, April 2013**

> Updated our master bed & bathroom- provided exceptional color consultation and reposition/repurposing of existing materials; trimmed out and repainted critical traffic flow areas.

> My real estate agent referred me to Michelle Kidd Design for staging service prior to listing my property for sale. Michelle was such a pleasure to work with; and her plan added interest, color, pattern and flow to my home. Her service included adding curtains and hardware, area rugs, artwork, linens, bedding, furniture, rearrangement of my furniture ( included moving pieces from room to room, from upstairs to downstairs), and adding decorative items. Nothing was too small or too large to escape her attention.
> I was provided a list of easy preparations to complete before leaving my home prior to each showing to potential buyers.
> The first showing of my home to buyers was also my last! They presented a very good offer which I accepted.
> I highly recommend Michelle Kidd Design.

## Community Q&A

**Q: What is the wall color?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Unfortunately I don't know the color. This color was in the home when I was asked to stage. The color is black. If I can locate the color I will provide it. Thank you for your question.

**Q: need help downplaying early american furniturte in bedroom** *(in Design Dilemma)*

What can I mix to downplay this?

A: Here are some ideas with varying level of cost: Eliminate the table runners and lace on surface tops. Change lamps to more updated look. Change out hardware (handles/knobs). It looks like there is a fur rug on the floor, remove and replace with a larger more contemporary rug, Place it so it is under the bottom third of the bed. Change out the curtains to something with a bit of graphic design, Add some art or a metal/mirror (like a starburst) to bounce some light. The room feels a little crowded and heavy with all the wood furniture so possibly replace the storage bench at the end of the bed with an upholstered bench that sits lower and has legs (not a storage bench), Or add a cute slipper chair next to your nightstand. You could also paint the furniture and replace hardware (noted above). I painted my daughters' bedroom dresser and nightstand and added new brush nickel hardware, It took several days to complete and the I loved the result. Potentially a different furniture placement could help too but I can't see the whole room, If you paint furniture go light with those dark walls. If you don't paint the furniture consider painting the room to a color with more Light Reflective Value (LRV), basically a lighter paint color to help the room not feel so heavy. Most paints provide the LRV which are on a range 1-100 (higher numbers = lighter because they reflect more light). Hope some of these ideas can work for you. Good luck! Share pictures when you complete your project so we know how it turns out.

**Q: Who makes the desk and what are the dimensions?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: I purchased this desk from Office Max and I'm not sure it's still available in the store. However it is available from Value City Furniture from the Orion collection . It is 55 w x 28 d x 30h. It has a small glass hutch (shelf) that fits across the top. I don't always use the hutch. I love this desk. It works in many decors and because it is glass top it doesn't take up as much visual weight in a room. I also used it in another office - see the project titled "Sold to First Buyer, Again!". Thank you for the question, I hope this helps. Michelle

**Q: Where's the bedding from? Love it!** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: This bedding is by Dreamscape Black Label, Samantha Collection. I purchased it at Stein Mart. I tried to locate a source for you and couldn't locate this bedding on-line. Thank you for your question. Please let me know if I can provide anymore information,

**Q: Where is the rug from?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Believe it or not, I got the rug at Lowes. It is by Allen and Roth, and named Horsham. Thank you for the question.

**Q: Love the sofa. Where was this purchased? Brand, manufacturer?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: It is a great couch, Unfortunately, I can tell you about everything in this room except the couch. The couch was the clients and I brought in the rest of the furniture to complete the look. Thank you for your question.
