> I am in LOVE with my new kitchen! Jackson and Park Design helped me update my former dark wood kitchen to a bright, airy kitchen that met all of my wish list requests in their design. My new desk area is a combo of desk space and backpack storage helping me gain the "mud room" storage space that I was desiring. The new island allows ample space for all 4 of my kids to not fight over who gets to sit at the counter and I can get prep work or cooking done while they complete homework and Jackson and Park design incorporated my wish for lots of storage space in the island. And the new bench seating for my kitchen dining space creates a cozy spot for family dinners. Jackson and Park was amazing at helping me decorate my kitchen with breathtaking super white granite counter tops, a beautiful backsplash, spectacular lighting, perfect paint colors, and accent pieces. The designers really understood my style and offered many choices and then helped me visualize the designs by creating boards that showed me how everything would look together before implementing the final decisions. Thanks to Jackson and Park for helping me create a spectacular and modern new kitchen.

> Jen and Kelly are an excellent team. So efficient and full of great fresh ideas! They helped us with furniture layout, selecting and sourcing pieces and picturing hanging. They are comfortable working within a budget. They made the whole process fun, and we love the finished product.

> Jackson + Park to assisted us with an extensive renovation and new addition to an old farm house. This work with J+P focused on a new kitchen, three new bathrooms and a mudroom. In addition, they supported us with the identification of fixtures and furniture that would go with the new style for our home that they helped us to discover. The J+P team worked closely with us throughout the entire process traveling to our work site and vendors sites helping us to pick out all of the right components (countertops, tile, cabinets, appliances fixtures, furniture and anything else we needed their expert input on) to match the style we wanted. We could not be more appreciative of the excellent final product. The new contemporary and highly functional style of our new home exceeds the expectations we established with J+P at the start of the project. Working on a tight budget, they helped us come in just under our budget for the work. Throughout the process they have been professional, extremely helpful, timely, excellent communicators and a lot of fun to work with! We highly recommend J+P and would sincerely welcome the chance to work with them again.

> We hired Jackson and Park to select all of our outdoor furniture for a newly constructed bluestone terrace. The selection was perfect! Not only does everything fit the patio perfectly, we always have adequate and appropriate outdoor furniture for our guests. Jen even helped assemble all the furniture when it arrived!!! The process was efficient, within our budget and very carefully thought out. We are using j&p now as we start to redesign all of our indoor spaces.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Can we feature your photo?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hi,

We’re very impressed with your photo featuring our Perlick refrigerator, and would like to feature it on our social media accounts. Please let us know if you’re okay with this. We’ll be sure to provide photo credit!

Thanks!
The Perlick Team

A: Absolutely! Thank you! Let me know when it gets posted.

**Q: Basque barstools** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hi could you tell me where you purchased the barstool from? The are beautiful!

A: Of course. They are from Crate and Barrel.

**Q: Exterior paint color?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Getting house ready to sell. It's a 3-story Mediterranean that the original owner painted light blue. The trim is ivoryish and stays (will be power-washed!) and the roof tile is dark navy and stays.
I painted a swatch of BM Clay Beige on the side of the house and it looks great, but is maybe a little TOO close to the color of the trim. Is there something similar just one click darker?
Also considered Shaker Beige or Bleeker Beige. My painter will match the color.
The front of the house faces west and gets very bright afternoon sun.

A: Try Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter HC 172. It is a great color that changes depending on the light.

**Q: Choosing floor tile!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi,
I am struggling choosing a floor tile for our open plan kitchen/living area, hallway, utility, study and guest toilet. I want to run the same tile throughout. I want to keep the furnishings modern, handleless kitchen, lots of greys etc. I have found the attached tile but am worried that it will be too traditional for the look I want. However this tile oozes warmth and it doesn't show dirty footprints which I love! We live in a fairly wet/cool climate. It should also give me flexibility to change colours schemes in the future. I would really appreciate a few opinions.

A: I think that tile can certainly be modern. What size is the tile? It will read more modern if it is a larger size square tile (24" square or larger) or if it comes in a rectangle size. If you want a modern look I would avoid 12x12 size tile. It tends to look very traditional.

**Q: Kitchen countertops!!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Kitchen is in!! Yay!! Crunch time and i must finally decide on countertops!!! Backsplash pick is attached. U can also see the antique french oak floors in one of the pics.
I am going back and fourth between carrara marble and caesarstone nuvo or staturio!!!
I must finally decide!! Please offer ur advice!!!
(Just to complete the picture - knobs are satin brass and hood is hammered zinc)
Thank u!!!

A: First- great backsplash pick. Your new kitchen look amazing. I would personally go with one of the caesarstone products for durability. Marble is so porous that you will gets stains and etching on the finish.

**Q: Best outdoor furniture in hot, humid climate for screened in porch** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We live in coastal South Carolina and just expanded our screened in porch. Although out of the elements, the furniture will be in sunlight much of the day. We are looking for a sectional seating area and also dining table with chairs. We also want to preserve as much of the view as possible so were considering low profile sectional and glass and wrought iron dining. Will glass and iron get hot in the heat? Thank you! Patty

A: I find that in hot climates you should avoid iron. It gets very hot. Woven resin is a great product that is very low maintenance. It can be sprayed off and easily cleaned. You can find it in everything from modern to traditional styles.
