> Peterson Remodeling did an extensive remodel in my San Diego condo. They did 3 bathrooms, kitchen, and flooring for my entire unit. They hung with me through a difficult permitting process with excellent advice and guidance. They understood my budget and worked within my limits. The work was done to the highest standards, always seeking my input and addressing my questions. Most of all, I appreciated their integrity and experience. I trusted Ray and Kris to do the work the right way every time. I was not disappointed. We love our finished condo. If I have another project in San Diego in the future, I will call Peterson Remodeling. Highly recommend.

> Ray and team are excellent to work with; I would highly recommend them for your project needs. They may not be the cheapest but in my opinion you definitely get what you pay for when it comes to contractors! And they have excellent subcontractors for the various trades.
>
> I liked how they were proactive with scheduling to minimize the disruption on our household for a kitchen remodel. Ray also had good ideas from a design standpoint that helped minimize cost. Finally I really appreciate how he was able to work through the problems that were encountered. With any remodel problems are going to happen; Ray was quick to think of creative solutions that didn’t involve just throwing money at it. Change orders were also reasonable and justified; they acted with utmost integrity.
>
> Again I highly recommend them for any of your home remodel needs!

> Ray Peterson is a superb contractor. He gave the most honest and timely bid when we were researching whom to engage for our home project. He is always on time. He gave us options explaining the pros and cons of each, e.g. fixed price or cost plus, live on or off premises, choice of various materials and/or approaches to problem areas. He was prepared and studied our architect's plans and even helped us improve our kitchen layout. He is also flexible, willing to correct errors by the subcontractors and to handle the challenges of "unexpected and unforeseen circumstances and/or consequences." He is courteous and respectful of our wishes and our safety concerns. Communication with him is easy, whether in person, via text, and/or via email. He diligently keeps to the schedule and had someone working here every day of the project. He also permitted us to subcontract with the IT specialist and the alarm company. He has excellent subcontractors who did quality work (from stucco to flooring to painting to electrical to plumbing to wallpaper to appliance installation to stone cutting). His own work here is also excellent. He was also willing to accommodate our timeline needs, letting us get the movers move our belongings back sooner than ideally. His billing is accurate and detailed, and occurs every two weeks. We highly recommend him, and plan to engage him again for other projects around our home in the future.

> Ray Peterson remodeled the house for my clients. He gave me updates as necessary. He built a good relationship with my clients, his work is meticulous. and my clients praised him so much. I'm keeping Peterson Remodeling for my future projects.

> UPDATED REVIEW (March 2021):
> Finally, I met with my clients in person and they praised Peterson Remodeling so highly. The kitchen was the heart of the remodeling and Ray and his crew did it perfectly. The new kitchen provides abundant storage space where everything has its own place, just like what my clients asked for. The island is generous, it provides space for the whole family/guests to gather. The rest of the house is as nice. The construction was done nicely. They accommodated my clients' various requests during construction and everything went smoothly. Superb!

**★★★★★ — Richard Cloward, Dec. 2019**

> Met all expectations. Especially pleased with the follow up to correct the "small" issues. On site almost daily to monitor. Kept to timeline and very close to budget. Addressed emergent issues quickly. Flooring installer sub was superb

> Wow. We have moved dozens of times and done multiple remodels, additions, new home construction projects, etc. Our recently purchased home had water damage in a wall and since we had a major repair, we figured we would remodel as well taking out a bay window and putting in a gas fireplace and wall unit. While at it we remodeled a bath and added a half bath as well as added garage office and tankless water heater. From the start, the company was great and honest. Best part of this family run business is the integrity they have which is becoming a more rare find these days. Ray noticed items in the initial bid others had skipped over and our water leak was not the wall but farther over in the roof. Needless to say, the project was clearly defined with timeline and cost and changes were noted up front without surprises. The work was quality and we love it. We even had a bit of a settling issue in the bathroom where some cracks formed in tile several months after completion of project. Ray came out and researched it, double checked with engineer and had issued fixed without any hassle. I am writing this review now (because I do procrastinate) but also to write a more solid review with time behind the project. Still love it, quality still stands, and can't recommend Ray and his company enough. Can't wait til our next project.

> We live in a high rise building downtown where Peterson Remodeling was recommended to us. We met with Ray the owner and our remodeling plans were put together. His company did the oversight for painting and wall changes and new bedroom flooring. Everything was done on schedule and on budget. Peterson Remodeling was a pleasure to work with and we would highly recommend them!

**★★★★★ — Charles Taylor Interior Design, May 2018**

> The Peterson Remodeling Team was great from start to finish. Their commitment to quality work and the small details that really matter in a project are fantastic. I worked with them on a full home remodel...kitchen, bathrooms, flooring, etc. I can't say enough about their ability to problem-solve, think on their feet and follow through on design elements. They have an army of talented subs/tradespeople that brought their A-game. I would highly recommend PRI to anyone looking to remodel their home. I will definitely work with them again.

**★★★★★ — Jeff Jordan, Dec. 2017**

> Great customer service and a professional team. The project took longer than was originally projected, but I was impressed by the continued attention through the very last day. There was no "punch list lag," which I have experienced with other contractors.

**★★★★★ — Amy Pearlmutter, Dec. 2017**

> We were referred to Peterson Remodeling when my husband and I first started talking about remodeling our home. My husband was very impressed from the moment when first met with Ray Peterson. He was so professional from the moment he sat down with us and his bid was very precise and detailed- it actually had dollar amount with cents in it. He had every one of his sub contractors out to make sure his estimate was as accurate as possible because he knew we had a very strict budget that didn't have much wiggle room. He really respected that throughout the entire process and stayed on budget without any hidden or outlandish overages. That is definitely very hard to find in the construction world. Ray definitely became part of our family and was very respectful, kind and considerate throughout the entirety of the remodel. His moral compass was very admirable and my husband and I both trusted him completely.
> Our house definitely brought some problems because it is a mid century home and we really wanted to keep the integrity of the original design and needed some what of a perfectionist that would be able to follow through on all the fine details that other contractors would overlook. Ray and his team really knew how to achieve the standards that we desired . Ray and Chris were extremely professional and very thoughtful with all of our concerns throughout the construction phase . Once we were at the end of the project , the whole team worked tirelessly to ensure that we were able to have Thanksgiving in our home which he knew how important it was to us. We remodeled the entryway, living room, kitchen, powder bathroom, guest room and large hallway and we are extremely pleased and grateful that we chose Peterson Remodeling. Not only would we recommend Ray a million times over we would actually like to continue our relationship with him outside of this project because we both really enjoy him as a person and a mentor . You will not be disappointed if you choose Peterson Remodeling.

**★★★★★ — Rand Barbano, Oct. 2017**

> We were traveling during the summer so not in San Diego to supervise the remodeling project. We received regular updates, were immediately informed of any issues, which were quickly resolved, and when we returned, the changes to the condo were exactly as we wished. We couldn't be happier with both the quality of the work and the interactions with Peterson Remodeling.

**★★★★★ — Glen Clinton, Dec. 2016**

> I hired Ray for a remodel on a condo I purchased this past summer.
>
> I couldn't be happier with the outcome!!
>
> Ray was always there when I had questions or needed to have discussions concerning the scope of the project. The quality of his work is second to none and the project finished on schedule. There were literally no punch items at all once the project was completed.
>
> Ray is a stickler for details but thats what you want for a remodel project. I'm guessing Ray is not the cheapest contractor out there but you really do get what you pay for. He is also adept at working in condos and understands the idiosyncrasies of working with HOA's etc. And...... he now knows how to install an electric fireplace!!
