They did a ton of work as we have a large yard and our home was new construction with no existing landscape. Part of the design included an outdoor gas fireplace and a gas line to reach the gas bbq grill. Aspen Falls contracted out the work for installing the gas line. Two days ago we discovered the gas line they installed was leaking and was not installed correctly to begin with. Our sprinkler winterize smelled the gas when blowing the sprinklers out and black hills energy confirmed the leak and turned out gas off until a plumber could make repairs/replacements as needed. The plumber stated that the exterior pipe work was not done properly and he had to replace some of it and repair some of it. I contacted Aspen falls asking to speak with the owner. A woman called me back the day after I left my message and was quite rude, not willing to cover the gas line repair costs and ultimately said she looked forward to seeing me in court. I’m very disappointed in the response and complete lack of concern for my family. Leaking gas is a serious problem and we are just lucky that it was discovered before any serious harm occurred. **Comment from Aspen Falls Landscape & Construction:** > Sandra, > > We are very sorry that you had an issue with your gas line four years after we provided services for you. Before the gas line can pass inspection, there is a pressure gauge installed, inspected and signed off by a city inspector prior to the permit being closed. The city would would not have signed off on the permit had there been a gas leak. Many factors can contribute to a gas leak years down the road. Per your contract, you had a one year warranty with Aspen Falls. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced from this. They were fast, professional and top notch in every way. From design to punch list my wife and I enjoyed working with every one on their team from Kyle and Myles on the front and back end to Steve, Salvador, Jose, Domingo and Rudi on the install and set up. Also don't forget about Shannon and Becki in the office and even their irrigation and carpenters guys were great. He's elderly and thinks that every single time we come outside that he has to come outside also to talk. We have had many issues with privacy, we have even caught him watching us with binoculars through his windows. We are open for any type of suggestions! Thanks in advance! This picture was taken from outside my front door. A: I would Recommend a High Privacy fence with landscaping in the front of the fence. What a fantastic transformation!! **Q: Before and After for a multi-level backyard** *(in Before & After)* Have a backyard that goes downhill and doesn't get used much? This homeowner did! What a beautiful transformation! **Q: Back Yard BBQ Island Ideas** *(in Design Dilemma)* I saw this BBQ Island website and it drove me BBQ-Island crazy! Some of these designs look like I may be able to DIY it, but I want some Houzzer's opinions before I undertake this project. Has anyone attempted something like this before? If so, how did it turn out? Thanks! A: Just one piece of advice, if you do DIY, please hire a professional to install the gas line and an electrician to do the electrical work. Other then that, if you have the time and are pretty handy and do some good measuring you should be good to go! We like to use Belgard pavers for our kitchens. **Q: Design Build** *(in Polls)* We have found that many people in the southwest part of Los Angeles are unfamiliar with Design Build firms.
