Haas Modern Architecture + Design is an architecture and interior design firm based in the Tampa Bay area in Florida specializing in middle to high end residential and small to medium sized commercial projects.  

The principal, Richard M. Haas is an award winning architect licensed in the State of Florida (AR94685) and who also has his certification by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).  He is also an active member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).

Richard is a graduate of the University of South Florida School of Architecture and Community Design where he received Master of Architecture degree in 2006.  He is an avid follower of the Sarasota School of Architecture that had its height during the 1940s and 1950s.  Clear geometry, simple overall volumes, economy of means, connection of inside and outside spaces, and most importantly, the respect for a building's climate and site, are the basic design philosophies of the school of thought.

Over the past eight years, Richard has sat on various academic design juries and has been an Adjunct Instructor of Architectural Design, History and Theory at Hillsborough Community College Dale Mabry Campus.
