In less than a year the top rails warped., boards popped out wood screws. Stair rails are bowed inward. When they dug the post holes they cut through our under ground wiring having to rewire the house through the basement, cut the TV cable in half. They also left piles of debris for us to clean up when they finished. > > When we questioned why some of the boards warped Joe claimed the lumber was not cured properly. We asked why he would have used lumber that wasn't suitable also noting that he is the expert and should have known better he was uncooperative in dealing with the issue. **★ — Gary Stewart, March 2021** > I have not had a good experience with this person. Hired him to level and finish my second floor. Went through what I wanted done twice with him. He screwed up the closets, the floors have soft spots on them, the bedroom door wouldn't close, the drywall wasn't completely finished, and he didn't batten insulate the walls (during our conversations before the work started I stressed I wanted this done). So now, my walls aren't insulated to my specifications and all the drywall is up. I wouldn't recommend this contractor unless you are there to supervise him through every step of the renovation as I feel he short cuts everything and hopes you don't notice. Also, if you hire him then ask for a broken down quote/contract with a price for all materials as well as the work. I didn't and received a generic contract with none of this information on it. Good quality work. Pleasant and friendly to deal with. He did all the original tile flooring in my Vacation Rental Home which included the kitchen, living area along with two bathrooms. He also installed tile work for our downstairs shower and our upstairs Whirlpool Steam Room with sauna. One year later a guest of ours damaged and broke the tile in our steam room sauna, which Joe was quick to respond to do the repairs and made it look like new.
