Workshop 315 is a professional, full-service architecture firm with two locations, Seattle, Washington and Boulder, Colorado. We have years of experience with residential and small commercial projects in all kinds of environments. We are happy to chat with folks about any project that they are working on or need help with.

We are most happy when we can solve a design problem in a creative way that not only finds a solution for one part, but also works in tandem to address a solution for other parts. Every project is unique, and we work to address all aspects of the design ranging from functionality, practicality, and legality in a creative way to find a solution the whole team loves. We know what we do will have a lasting impact on the built environment beyond our lifetimes and we strive for a better environment and community for each project.

Our ultimate goal is to work as a team to find a solution and leave any project better than when we found it.

> We worked with Workshop 315 on a potential house remodel. We really enjoyed working with Matthew and Ryan. They were communicative, responsive, and understood our vision for the project. We highly recommend their services and would definitely use them again in the future.

**Comment from Workshop 315:**

> Thanks Andrew! We had a great time working on your project!

> Matthew and Ryan truly are masters of their craft. They helped us with a full gut remodel of the lower level of our house that included an incredible bathroom that's super functional and modern while still fitting in perfectly with the original mid-century aesthetic of the house, and they also helped us brighten up our living room and add easier access to the great views from the top of our low-slope roof. You'll be impressed by their professionalism, their attention to detail, and their sheer creativity--I recommend them to everyone I know who's in need of a good architect, and if we ever end up doing any more major remodeling work to our house down the road, they'll be the only ones that I call.

**★★★★★ — Peter Adanalian, Dec. 2022**

> Workshop 315 enthusiastically took on our modern farmhouse remodel project and they blew us away with their creativity. Our walk-out basement has been reimagined and now has room for everyone when our entire family is home. With incredible built-ins, a game room and bar, sleeping spaces for all, and beautiful hardwood floors, we spend all our time downstairs when entertaining family and guests. We even gained storage and a multifunctional space for reading, napping or relaxing. Ryan and Matt also designed a more modern look to our main floor with a new fireplace and custom stair railing. We are so happy with the results from phase 1, we’re moving on to phase 2.

> When we set out to renovate our home we could not begin to picture what we wanted. We knew we wanted to stay true to the basic design of the house – it has been in our family for almost 50 years. Matt and Ryan took the time to listen to us and help us figure out what we wanted and kept asking questions and giving suggestions until we got the perfect design. They thought of all the little details that we would never have dreamed of and solved all of the inevitable problems that surface during a major remodel project like ours. They were able to keep the simple charm of our home while modernizing the flow and workings of the house. Matt and Ryan helped us through some of the tough choices we had to make due to space constraints, building codes, budget etc. and were always there to help when we had questions or concerns. We are in California and they had to work with a contractor that they had never dealt with before and things could not have gone any more smoothly. They stayed in constant contact with our contractor and were always there with an answer or solution to whatever situation came up. Several times during the construction process different trade workers commented on the creative design details of the house – and since completion we get comments all the time from people walking by about how they love the fact that we stayed true to the original design of the house. We are so thrilled with our home and are beyond grateful to Matt and Ryan – it's definitely time to retire!!

  - Description: This home in Newport Beach, California had been in our clients' family for a generation, and they approached us with a request to reimagine the space for their impending retirement. They wanted to be mindful of existing elements of the home and were not interested in expanding the footprint. They simply wanted it to suit their lifestyle. The original layout was closed off with the kitchen separated by a wall and a large central stair between the living spaces. They wanted the layout to be open a…
