He did/was none of that. I provided the measurements of that walls and asked him to confirm the amount of Wallpaper that I needed. On the day we agreed to start the job he showed up about four hours late around noon instead of in the morning as expected. When I returned from work, it was about 5 o’clock in the job was about not even half done. He rushed through the last section which I later saw resulted in poor cutting and rips in the paper. He explained to me that I didn’t have enough Wallpaper and that he would have to come back to finish it. He insisted that I pay him the remainder of the quoted price that I hadn’t already paid as a deposit. I told him I was very uncomfortable with this since the job was only half done. I felt I should only have to pay him half the job. After a bit of back-and-forth, I decided to take his word and pay him the entirety of the job. What a mistake on my part. Then we started texting back-and-forth to arrange a time for him to come back, he then advised in order for him to come back. I would have to pay “his daily rate “ again. I told him I was very confused by that since he had never mentioned a daily rate at all, he had quoted me for the job and I had paid him the entirety of the quote. I had previously also asked him to quote additional work, which is also quoted at a different price and again a daily rate was never mentioned. > We had many many back-and-forth text interactions since then. I told him I found this entirely unacceptable as he gave me a rate to do the Wallpaper and didn’t finish the job. He told me he refused to return to my house without me paying him $500 again. > > I told him I had no interest in having him finish the work because not only did I find him dishonest in asking me to pay again but also his work lacked quality. > > The edges are so bas in some places, it looks like he ripped it instead of cutting it. The seams are very poorly done and so very noticeable there are bubbles throughout. Initially he refused to come back and fix the poor work he had done Eventually, after dozens of back and forth texts and my eventual conclusion that I had no choice but to to take him to small claims court, he agreed to come back and fix his poor workmanship. This will be my next step, but at the same time felt I should warn other potential customers to look to the many other contractors available for hire and save yourself the trouble of being ripped off and left with poor work in your home. > > I tried since then, for months to arrange a date for him to come back.
