He will take your advance money and never show up again or answer your calls. We paid him $3000 advance for kitchen remodeling work and he stopped answering our calls after receiving money since August. **★ — Paula Gallagi, Aug. 2022** > Do NOT use them! I had to take them to court and sue them for the horrible work AND never even starting the bathroom work and KEEPING the money that I gave them! I won the lawsuit, and they have NOT paid me a dime! I have given them my Venmo account and they have the address, but have not received any money back at all. They promise to pay, promise to do work, but don't! I had to hire another person to tear out my kitchen floor because they just set the tiles on the old mesh that was under the tiles that they took off, and that is why they all started breaking. To demand money for the bathroom and never even start the work is disgusting. They kept the money and have not paid me. I am not only one who has sued them. Many people have reached out to me and had to sue them as well. They have not paid them either! They can say all they want, however, the proof is that they have NOT paid any of us back the money that we are due! Do not use them!! Had I seen some of these reviews I would never have hired Hamaz. We had a signed contract to put up shutters and repair trim work around two garage doors. Hamza showed up to hang 22 shutters. After that it went downhill FAST! Set a date to do garage but called and said he was leaving for PA and would call us on Friday when he returned. Never called. Called Hamza on Monday and he said "he forgot about us"! he then set another date. That day came and he called and said "his van broke down and he was stranded in Htfd". Said he would call us when van was repaired. He never called and I had to call him. Asked him for a contract rescission as I knew he would never do the garage doors. Hamza said he would send us that rescission. Well, you know he did not and probably never will. I let Home Depot know their referral to Meriden Makeovers was not good. He and his crew fixed the very large hole in the ceiling, installed the new fixture, and even returned the next day (a Saturday) to paint the entire ceiling! I cancelled the contract and he came with a post dated check. I waited 2 weeks after trying to work with Hamza and when I finally cashed the check it bounced. Not only did I give half my money I bought doors, heating/air conditioner unit, paint, and paid the building permit that was his obligation. I still have not received my money! **★ — Paula Gallagi, Aug. 2020** > I hired Meriden Makeovers the following was supposed to be completed by June 3rd, 2020: remove existing tile from kitchen and install new tile, install kitchen and bathroom new faucets, take out old tub and tub around and install new ones fix a minor problem with the toilet I gave 1/2 the money upfront. They started the kitchen floor but before finishing the floor the owner called and asked for the final payment. He told me to read the contract $ is due two days prior to the completion of the job. He showed up and I paid him. The workers were not the owner. I am in a wheelchair. When they came to put the refrigerator back two days later, I noticed the dip in the floor. I called the ownerHe came over and said it was nothing, it was just my floor and the tiles settling! Many tiles are broken and all the grout is coming up. The owner sent his guys to look at the floor. They replaced the broken tiles. He never did the bathroom, and he kept the money! Do not do business with him!! **Comment from Meriden Makeovers LLC:** > We have tried to reach out to you multiple times to refund the money for the work that was not done. We asked for final payment once your flooring was done we are not responsible for any special ordered materials that have not been delivered to the site. You were also informed about your kitchen flooring being on leveled prior to our tile work but you insisted on doing it anyways due to financial situation after you complained about the grout cracking we went out multiple times trying to fix it for you and I personally came out to explain to you that your floor was uneven and I gave you the option of redoing it again and you insisted on leaving it and just rerouting.
