> My husband and I purchased a new construction home from Sixth-Day Properties.
> Sadly, our home is inadequate because the quality of finishes is horrid, and the inspection reports revealed a lack of pride in their craft.
> I am disappointed because the house looks shabby: for example, the builders have black grout in parts of the wood flooring; the grout was applied sloppily; home features (see attached diagram) were not disclosed clearly or were misrepresented. Baseboards are tinted yellow (stained by flooring finish applied after baseboard installation), and paint splatters is dried on the floor tiles. The kitchen island and counters are scratched up. The front door has a gap big enough to let field mice in, and this is after they have returned to repair it once already.

> The inspection reports discovered leaking pipes that caused water damage, uneven floors, improperly sloped showers—damaged locks and exposed nails on the roof, and many more items. The inspection reports revealed a lack of oversite by the builders.
> We’ve found over half a dozen razor blades outside our home lying on the ground left from contractors.
> Further, it's not a correct business practice to provide renderings that show built-in seating, stone veneer on the chimney and around the exterior, and beams but then remove them from the plans after going under contract. We were told by their agent they are allowed to make changes as they wish. (Not true, and nowhere in our sales agreement does this say so.)
> Additionally, the condition of the property during construction was atrocious. The garage was used as a dumpster. Also, the state of the home we received the house in was shocking. The walls desperately need to be painted, and the carpets deep cleaned as there are two stains in the master closet. The builders didn't make contractors wear booties on the carpet and wore shoes on the carpet themselves. The garage floors look awful, with black stains throughout and paint stains, and globs of caulking. They didn't even sweep the garage out before we moved in.  It was a mess.
> We regret not buying with a more established builder. It felt as though once we were under contract, the builders made decisions unilaterally, potentially looking for shortcuts. The night before closing, we received an email at 11 pm with a supplement from the builders, twisting our arms to accept their desired position on an inspector identified shower drainage issue or postpone the closing. We have purchased many homes in our lifetime, and this is currently our second home. Our secondary home out of state is a Toll Brothers home, and theirs a night and day difference between the customer service and the quality of the home finishes you're purchasing.

**Q: What country are the tiles imported from?** *(in Photo Questions)*

You have chosen the perfect tile throughout the home. The attention to detail is obvious throughout the collection of photos. Would love to see it if I was in Tulsa!

A: Thank you DW! We love using ModWalls for the 'Gumball' Kitchen Backsplash.  We also use a company called Hakatai which has very affordable mosaics in the rest of the home.
