> I had the pleasure of working with Ricky when our family grew too big for the number of rooms we had in our home. He set a time to come to our home and help us design a beautiful loft-to-bedroom conversion for our new baby. His attention to detail was everything we expected so the planning was seamless. He even worked an office space on the other side of the bedroom for me so I didn't lose the functionality of the loft- genius. Our builder was thrilled that we had plans already done so that saved us a ton of money with the builder. Superior work. Thanks, Ricky!

Rick worked with us during design phase through Certificate of Occupancy and provided professional design and construction management, creative solutions during the construction process as well as interior design consultation.

>
> Rick's eye for detail and his exacting expectations show in every detail of our home.

> Rick Morton designed a remote ranch house for us in Carbon County, Wyoming. He was very professional and provided excellent work for our contractor to build from, and his work was submitted to us in a very timely manner. We highly recommend his services.

> The project I did with Rick was not only in a remote location; but the bulk of the work occurred during an extremely difficult winter. Rick was consistently creative in offering solutions to problems that we encountered thru out the construction process. He was always very open to listening to our suggestions and if he deemed them appropriate for the project; he gave them his full support. The project came in on time and under budget in no small part due to the abilities and efforts of Rick Morton. I would welcome the opportunity to work with him again. A good experience all around.

> We have used RL MORTON on at least four different projects. We did a remodel of our house, a new gazebo pool complex, additional redesign work on a proposed extension and a proposed casita project.
>
> We went ahead with two of the projects (the house and the pool complex) and are in a holding pattern (waiting on the ridiculous Boulder County Commissioners) on the others.
>
> We can unhesitatingly recommend RL MORTON with reservation. He (Rick) is patient and exacting and his work product is inspired and innovative. We would not use anyone else in this capacity after having checked out quite a few before working with RL MORTON.

> Rick Morton was referred to me with high recommendations and he didn't disappoint. He listened carefully to what I wanted to achieve in a design and came up with an exciting elevation and great floor plan. He delivered a design that flowed well and combined a unique european country castle theme with modern features. Rick was easy to work with and always easy to schedule time for me.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Do you prefer marble or quartz countertops?** *(in Polls)*

A: Marble is soft and will stain - you can probably find a sealer for it but will be a constant maintenance issue as it wears off.

**Q: Need help with new home entry** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Okay, so I really need advice on what to do with this... I don't like the color of the brick or rock, detest the front door... wanted a larger size door.. this one is 36" x 80". As this is new construction I will have to pay to make my changes. Would prefer a much more modern look. I doubt I'll be able to change the size of the door without considerable cost you me.
Advice please...

A: \#1 New Door - needs to have a since of transparency or be transparent
\#2 Add interest to entry with pots, flowers, fountain(s)
\#3 Revise porch lights - too small
\#4 Possibly revise the porch soffit by adding bead board or wood finish.

**Q: Curb Appeal/ Front Porch** *(in Design Dilemma)*

In need of any suggestions for some curb appeal.... Also, ideas for a new front porch design. PLEASE HELP... lol

A: Couple items
-I agree with earlier post need some curves and color in the landscape.
-The two story portion of the house could use some depth/detail- awnings over the windows would be one option
-Paint the garage doors and front door an accent color, shutters or awnings could match.

**Q: Yes or no? Marble Coffee Table** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Would you put a rectangle marble coffee table in this living room? I love the couch & chairs we had made, and I think a coffee table would finish it out. Is there any other recommendations you have? Also, does my console table behind the couch need to be taller? Thoughts on lamps behind the couch?? Thank you for any suggestions!!

A: I would be aware marble is a porous stone and susceptible to staining.

**Q: Beautiful, but whoever owns this doesn't have boys.....** *(in Photo Questions)*

those beams are way to close to the balcony 0- lol Very nice work!

A: Luv the timbers - my wife would see spider webs and extra things to dust (lol)

**Q: How in the name of all that's holy can you reach the top dryer? You ha** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Is this an exercise room? You stretch to get the clothes out of the dryer and you bend over (and stretch ) to wash the dog.
