> Robin is a true professional. We consider ourselves fortunate to have worked with Robin on the interior design of our lakes region home. With a full house needing to be furnished and a tight timeline, we put a lot on Robin’s shoulders and she pulled it off with aplomb. Robin has a keen eye for what will look and work best in various living spaces, but is not dogmatic in her design approach. Robin also worked well in collaborating with our architect to unify the design elements throughout our home.
>
> Robin knows where to source beautiful and unique design elements and provides sage advice on where best to invest one’s decorating dollars. Moreover, Robin is very much a hands-on participant in the process. In our case, Robin was moving furniture with us on our move-in date (which happened to coincide with a snowstorm).
>
> We would not hesitate to recommend Robin to anyone looking for interior decorating advice.

**Comment from Robin Davis Interiors:**

> One of the highlights of projects for 2025 was seeing all the hard work everyone gave to bring this beautiful lake house to the finish line. Even when it means all of us are schlepping furniture, lighting, rugs- you name it- to help you guys get settled for the summer. It was an honor and privilege to be a part of this magical home and I thank you both!

> Robin designed and managed our kitchen and pantry remodel. We enjoyed working with her. She was professional and responsive. She recommended Irish Construction who did excellent work. She also redecorated our laundry room. We love our new kitchen pantry and laundry room. She helped us redecorate and update our family and sitting rooms.

**★★★★★ — Bryce & Electra, June 2026**

> Robin was fantastic to work with. We were furnishing a new home completely from scratch, and she was pedal-to-the-metal from day one. She was always communicative, keeping us updated on shipping timelines, presenting multiple furnishing options, and quickly stepping in whenever issues arose. Her responsiveness, organization, and dedication made a huge difference throughout the process. I would highly recommend Robin to anyone looking for interior decorating help.

**★★★★★ — nowad54, Dec. 2025**

> Robin is amazing and a joy to work with. My husband and I were working on a lake house renovation remotely. Robin did a great job helping us choose the furnishing and also coordinated the delivery and set up of furniture and rugs. We could not have done it without her!

**Comment from Robin Davis Interiors:**

> It was an absolute pleasure working you on this fabulous project! So excited for you and your family enjoying this special place for many, many years to come!

> Robin Davis has been an absolute pleasure to work with. She is a good listener and was able to make my vision a reality. She is always the professional with an easy going manner who strives to integrate her keen sense of design with the aesthetic I pictured for the space.
> She is honest and transparent on the business end, which made working with her enjoyable and worry free. I look forward to the future projects we’ve planned for 2022!

**★★★★★ — E.F. and M.C., Dec. 2021**

> Robin absolutely knocked it out of the park with our “mountain modern” home adventure, and she was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. She is a total pro - always quick to respond to emails and texts, and never left us hanging or feeling like we were in the dark. As far as the final product - we are truly thrilled! She managed to furnish and decorate our entire home in exactly 8 weeks, and the result is more than we could have hoped for. I found Robin online (no prior personal relationship whatsoever) and can’t believe how lucky we got stumbling across her. I would absolutely recommend her to friends, family and anyone else looking for interior decorating work.

**Comment from Robin Davis Interiors:**

> wow! thank you both so much for the lovely words- I'm very grateful and honored to have been asked to help you with your project and for your trust placed in me. I love your getaway home and hope you and family and friends create wonderful memories shared there for many years to come!

**★★★★★ — Anthony Fratianne, Dec. 2018**

> Lead and directed several major design projects for me, including a complete renovation of an historic duplex which has received much critical acclaim. Her work was a primary component of that building’s success. Talented; practical; trustworthy; budget-minded; meets deadlines; meets or exceeds all expectations; pleasure to work with; solution-finder; magical bargain finder.

**★★★★★ — Ali, Nov. 2018**

> It has been a fantastic experience working with Robin. I had never worked with a decorator before and I was very happy to find Robin in Houzz. We hired her to redo 2 spaces (living room and a common use room in a finished basement), both of which we had sparsely furnished but never decorated. She totally transformed the space and we loved what she did so much that we are currently working with her for 2 more rooms in our home. She is easy to communicate with, straightforward and transparent in her invoicing, and really great at working within a budget. She is very resourceful to make the vision come to life. She is a good listener and takes the time to learn your style. I wish that I could figure out how to include pics in my review because we are so proud of our new space, but you can see from her profile pics that she can work with different styles and uses space very well. I highly recommend her services.

**Comment from Robin Davis Interiors:**

> Alison it has been a pleasure to work with you and I fell in love with your home even before we really got started! It was the perfect canvas to begin with! I’ve added some photos here for you of the living room space we did- absolutely love it and appreciate your allowing me to bring your ideas to life and complete the vision!

> I have worked with Robin for over year now. She helped stage my last place for sale, and has worked with me on my high end condo in downtown Portland from pre-construction design through completion. She has done a fantastic job learning my style and what I like all while keeping cost as an important consideration. It has been a pleasure working with Robin, and i intend to use her services for my next anticipated home construction project.

**★★★★★ — Marc Chadbourne, Dec. 2017**

> Robin is a true professional and most importantly she is a delight to work with! Her staging services have been spot on and resulted in quick sales and usually over asking price. All this with fee's that make sense for our marketplace.
> Can't wait for another opportunity to work with Robin!

**Comment from Robin Davis Interiors:**

> Marc, it's been such a pleasure working with you on all of your staging needs over the last few years. I e loved every challenge you've sent me and the excitement we both feel when the property is sold so quickly! Thank you for your continued trust in what I can do and to a fruitful future for both of us!

**★★★★★ — Jill Fratianne, Dec. 2017**

> There aren't enough stars to rate Robin on this review! We are so grateful for her commitment to task in turning our entire lake house into a masterpiece on a budget and timeline that seemed almost impossible. We have since engaged her on more projects for AirBNB investments and she is the most valuable member on the team. She helps on everything from project management to selecting the most incredible design finds on a business friendly budget. No detail will ever go unthought of. We love Robin and can't live without her!!

**Comment from Robin Davis Interiors:**

> Jill, I cannot imagine us never meeting or having the chance to work together- all because of you finding me on Houzz. I've had such fun taking on your challenges and helping to make each location unique to the needs of those who will be enjoying these special homes, You have become a dear friend and part of my family!

> I have worked with Robin on two projects - one a refresh / update of a room and the second on the remodel of two bathrooms simultaneously. Robin always had a positive attitude and was able to keep the projects running on schedule. She had great ideas and helped me figure out my vision. She was able to bring in excellent subs that were also a pleasure to work with. I would not hesitate to use her again and actually look forward to working with her again on another project.

**★★★★★ — Debbie & John P., Sept. 2016**

> Trying to decorate our new seasonal home in Cape Elizabeth while wintering in Ohio was next to impossible. Thank heavens we found Robin and Design for Less! She sourced and shopped for us and sent us pictures for our approval, then purchased, transported and installed each purchase and sent us a picture of the outcome! Incredible service and her "sometime" assistant, Caroline, was awesome! Robin will remain on our "go to" list forever!

**★★★★★ — Diane Lombard, Aug. 2016**

> I needed some staging of home for an upcoming sale. Robin was a delight to work with. She's motivated, cheery, and spot on with her choices and recommendations. I really enjoyed working with Robin and her high energy and level of professionalism.
> I would diffenitely recommend her. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

**★★★★★ — ajacobs9, April 2016**

> Robin is very professional and easy to talk with. She is proactive with varied ideas that might appeal to her clientele.

> Home renovation can be such a daunting prospect! After surfing the web for products and visiting home improvement stores I realized that I could not initiate my bathroom renovation without the help of a professional. While surfing HOUZZ photos I decided to click on professionals in my area. Lo and behold Robin's website drew my attention. I liked her no nonsense approach and photos that made this project seem realistic to my taste and my needs. She contacted me immediately after my initial query and we met within a week, Shortly thereafter she brought by her amazing team and our ideas became a plan. Product knowledge and artistic insight impressed me and were so in tune with my vision and my budget. She is a great, easing going, knowledgable professional and terrific to work with. My new bathroom is gorgeous! I have recommended her to all my friends and will call on her again when I need further help in renovation of my condo in Portland.

> We were finishing up our kitchen remodel and it was (finally!) time to pick paint colors. In addition to our kitchen, we also wanted the adjoining mudroom, bathroom and family room painted. Our kitchen designer's interest in our project had long waned and we wanted to work with someone that was interested and excited about helping with these final decisions.
>
> I contacted Robin after seeing her info on houzz-- and she came out within 48 hours on a Saturday morning (!) and guided us to choosing paint colors that are just beautiful. In addition, our contractor could not get his painter scheduled for at least three weeks-- so again Robin stepped in, contacted her painter-- and within a week, the rooms were painted, the quality is great and it was done at a reasonable price.
>
> We had only hired Robin for a color consultation, but as it ended up, she was instrumental in getting the last steps of our remodel completed.

**Comment from Robin Davis Interiors:**

> It was such a pleasure meeting you both! You were so close to finishing your big kitchen remodel, I couldn't put you off for any length of time! It's just a paint consult but I know how important it was! Happy to help in any way and thrilled for you both and the final results! Best wishes and enjoy the fruits of your labor!

> My husband and I recently purchased a house that required renovations and updates. We knew what we wanted to do for work and had our own ideas about decorating, but wanted to consult an expert who would provide us their professional guidance along the way. We found Robin on the Houzz website and contacted her for a consultation. Robin was able to meet all of our needs by being flexible with our schedules and our limited budget. She was friendly, personable, and professional. Robin came prepared with ideas, samples of curtains, tile, wood floor, and paint colors. We really liked her sense of style and her ability to help us execute our ideas into what we now have for an almost finished project (we still have a few loose ends to work on). It wasn't just a business project for Robin, it was a relationship. We would highly recommend her to anyone!
> Julie and Mark

**Comment from Robin Davis Interiors:**

> It was a pleasure to work with Julie and Mark on their mid-century ranch. The bones of the home were great but hadn't been updated over the years by the original owners. They knew they wanted to knock down walls, replace flooring and plan for a kitchen renovation down the road. What they needed mostly was a smart plan for paint throughout, color of flooring and space planning. Many updates still ahead but the home now feels more like them and was more than ready for living now. Congratulations on your home Mark and Julie!

> I was living in NY but moving to Maine and needed help with renovating and furnishing our Condo. I wanted to have the condo ready for move in but wouldn’t be able to be in Maine to oversee renovations or furnishings. Also as a full time working mother of 3 children under 4 (1 newborn at the time!) I had NO time to devote to this project. So I decided to use the help of an interior decorator. After some research of companies through Houzz, I decided to try Design For Less. Robin was amazing to work with and I am so thankful I was able to find her! She listened to what I wanted and delivered in every way. Because I was living in NY and unable to get to Maine frequently, I had to trust Robin with every detail. From our first phone meeting I knew I made the right choice! I told her what I was looking for and our needs/budget and Robin took control right away and delivered beyond what I was expecting. Our place is still a work in progress - tackling additional rooms and we are still working with Robin to help us complete our new home. I couldn’t imagine going through this process with anyone else! Thanks Robin!!!

**Comment from Robin Davis Interiors:**

> It has been a pleasure working with you Hyeri and Jesse making your place a home! I don't know how you do it with 3 little girls and full-time jobs! I love how the condo is becoming such a comfortable place for all of you and yes, we'll continue on as long as we need to finish up that list! I look forward to it!

> Having purchased and moved into our first house in December, I had never worked with an interior decorator before. On the nagging suspicion that choosing paint colors for a big house wouldn't be as straightforward as it seemed, I decided to look for help, and because I had no idea where to start looking, I turned to Houzz. Robin's ad immediately caught my eye because, even though we had never met, I felt comfortable reading it; she seemed down-to-earth, her designs weren't too fussy, and she had specifically written that she wanted her designs to be affordable and livable, particularly for children (At the time, our son was a curious, energetic three.). I sent her an email, expecting to hear back in a couple days, but she immediately wrote me back...and we haven't looked back! Our house has been an ongoing project, and what I really appreciate is that Robin not just has great taste, but is totally open to working with my opinions and ideas as well. Robin started with helping me choose paint colors, carpet and rugs, and installing blinds all around the house. She has helped me choose furniture, lighting and drapery, and spearheaded recovering the cushions on our kitchen stools. With Robin's help (and her referrals to painters, an electrician, and a fantastic contractor, all of whom are completely skilled, reasonably priced and trustworthy), we have transformed what was a great house into an amazing home. She is upbeat, organized and, very importantly, accessible...no waiting days for her to respond (I even took pictures of some bedroom furniture in the store and sent them to her, and she helped us make the decision real-time.)! Her design services are extremely reasonable, and have been, and continue to be, invaluable to us.

**Comment from Robin Davis Interiors:**

> I cannot tell you how much fun I've had working with you, Ilissa, on your new home! I love your sense of humor and quick decision making! We do click in so many ways. The house already had so many great qualities but just didn't seem to fit yours and Dave's personalities, never mind functionality. The transformation for me has been so rewarding and the more you are able to relax and enjoy the rooms, I know that you're going to love your new home more and more every day! My best to you, Dave and Ethan!

> Robin has an amazing eye for detail and design. When I opened my photo studio in the heart of Portland, Maine I knew she was the one for the job. She took my few requests and made them into a beautiful story with her experience, sense of style, texture, and cohesion. The space is even more lovely than I could have ever imagined and everyone comments on how beautifully put together it is. It is a joy to come to work in this space everyday knowing that it not only reflects myself, but also who I want to portray to my clients. I highly recommend Robin for any project great or small.

**Comment from Robin Davis Interiors:**

> It was a pleasure to work with you Lauren in designing your new studio in Portland! Though small, we had a great space to work with and we were able to incorporate all of your colors with lively interpretation! Now that natural light shining through accentuates the space and makes your work environment comfortable for you and your clients! I look forward to continuing to work with you and photographing other design spaces I complete- we work so well together!

> We purchased a 2-bedroom 2-bath condo in Portland, Maine, in a newly constructed upscale building as a second home. Since we were living in New York, we needed local assistance getting the apartment ready for occupancy. And since I knew what I wanted for furnishings, I really just needed someone to manage the project and provide consulting on finishes and upgrades at an affordable rate. I found Robin on Houzz, and it was a match made in heaven. She was not offended at all that I wanted to select my own furnishings, and provided helpful and tasteful design consulting when needed (paint colors, window treatments, carpets, crown molding, tile, and carpentry and electrical upgrades.) Robin has a crew of skilled professionals that she works closely with, and the end result was a gorgeous new apartment completed on time and on budget and to our exact specifications, and with minimal stress and hassles! Robin was always willing to help with any task, even those as mundane as receiving deliveries or moving boxes into our apartment. Her billing rate was an incredible bargain for the level of expertise and personal attention we received. And best of all, we now consider her a dear friend and think very fondly of her while enjoying our beautiful new home!

**Comment from Robin Davis Interiors:**

> Robert and Hillary, its been an absolute honor to have worked with you both! It could not have gone any better in my opinion. You have an incredible sense of style and what you wanted this new home to feel like- I was able to run with it and I also happen to have a great group of contractors that work well together and with me. The changes we made to an already completed condo transformed it from day to night- the upgraded finishes and décor items we added took it from builder grade to super luxurious, even in a luxury building. Our collaboration long distance and friendship created through the process will be one I will cherish for many years to come!

**★★★★★ — jwolfe2, Aug. 2013**

> Robin is AWESOME!! She has worked with us on several house projects including most of the rooms in our house. We love the results and always get compliments from our guests. We lived in the house for years and just couldn’t find the time and /or agree on paint colors, styles and room arrangements. We are a busy family with numerous daily schedule demands. It was important for us to balance both aesthetics and function. Robin understood our needs and was able to design and implement a plan while always cognizant of our time and budget. The communication throughout the projects was outstanding. One of the biggest challenges was our desire to utilize family “heirlooms” that had been passed onto us. The pieces were not representative of our style. Robin figured out creative ways to “update” the treasured furniture pieces o that they are now showpieces! Additionally, she “repurposed” a number of our dated lamps, tables, frames, etc. so they now compliment the space. We also shopped for new items using a strict budget. Robin made simple changes to our purchases that resulted in pieces having a “specialized” look.
> We love our redesigned space! It’s beautiful, comfortable and functional. Throughout the process, Robin was enthusiastic, flexible, and organized. She is knowledgeable and current with design trends. We are grateful for Robin’s involvement in all of our projects. She made our home look fabulous with a low budget.

> Over the past 5 months, Robin has helped us update 5 of our 6 inn rooms and our common areas. We contacted Robin because she promotes the concept of repurposing. We wanted to add as little to the landfill as possible. We did not want to repaint or buy new furniture for our guest rooms and common areas, but they needed some jazzing up. She did this with pillows, lamps, artwork and fresh fabrics reupholstering tired but still viable furniture. Our guests write such comments as "a magnificent nest", "the inn is really beautiful, I especially liked the common areas", "simply lovely". What better testimony is there? Thanks Robin!

**Comment from Robin Davis Interiors:**

> It's been an honor and pleasure working with Scott and Deb- owners of an historic Inn in Portland, Maine. The bones are great but needed to be pulled into a little modern style here and there. Keeping the feel of an 'Inn' but adding some polish- repurposing some great pieces of furniture- updated here and there- a little effort really went a long way here! I love reading the guests comments myself after checkout- so proud that what I wanted to give the owners of such a special place and those staying there the same feeling I get every time I walk in the door- a smile saying 'yes, this is a great place to stay'. Thank you Deb and Scott- I look forward to continuing the process with you!

> Design For Less worked as a designer and project manager to remodel our kitchen, dining room and mudroom. Robin worked with us to discuss options and led the team of contractors to transform the space within budget and a short time frame. She has an amazing sense of design and people, such that our space is now so much more usable, and feels more spacious, pleasant, and organized. We were particularly impressed that the job got done on time and gave us everything we hoped for and more. Robin repurposed and reupholstered items to enhance the job, while keeping within budget. She was very easy to work with and interfaced with all of the people involved with the project so we did not have to worry about it. We highly recommend her.

**Comment from Robin Davis Interiors:**

> What a transformation we achieved in this typical cape! It has the standard rooms all sectioned off by walls. It just doesn't work well with an active family who like to entertain and have their kids part of the dinner process at the end of day. By removing the wall separating the dining room and kitchen, we achieved the needed open plan to really make it the gathering space they craved. Much needed storage was added with the addition of a stand-alone pantry and island matching the original oak cabinetry. We also installed new flooring throughout the open space to unify it and make it feel so much larger, yet no square footage was added. It just works! Thank you Mark and Maria for allowing me into your family and home- and for having an open mind when it came to the finishing touches! The new colors and fabrics fit your personalities and lifestyle- such a fun and comfortable space! I hope you and your family enjoy the space for many, many years!

> I hired Robin to help me re-decorate my bathrooms. She expertly guided me through paint color choices, as well as bathroom fixtures, lights, towels...everything to make the bathrooms look updated & brand new. The contractor crew was also wonderful...everything done to the last detail & on time. I would definitely work w/ Robin & her crew again...the bathrooms looks wonderful!

**Comment from Robin Davis Interiors:**

> Maggie it was a sincere pleasure to work with you! I loved how open you were to color options- not always easy to just let it happen! The bathrooms look so beautiful- more modern but mostly updated for today's styles and tastes! I look forward to working with you on more projects in the next year!

They wanted a more sophisticated feel but also wanted to keep it somewhat casual. It needed to handle lots of gatherings and their three active teenagers as well as stand the test of time. We also needed to comple…

  - Description: This project started with the developers’ floor plans and allowed the client and I to dictate the overall look. Though a very modern and eco-friendly building design, we didn’t want the home to feel cold or too modern. It needed to be warm and inviting the moment you entered and take advantage of the incredible views of the ocean and city. From the finishes and custom work I designed, to all lighting, tille and flooring, we chose every item for this home. The mix of steel, leathers, walnut accen…

  - Description: This was a whole-home interior redesign. The kitchen was gutted and a wall removed to open it up completely the dining area and great room creating a much better flow and entertainer's space. The entire interior and exterior of the home was painted with white walls and all the trim a lovely charcoal. The once dark-stained maple hardwood floors were sanded and coated with a matte clear coat finish and just those 2 things completely changed the feel of the entire interior. The primary suite got a…

  - Description: The client of this seaside home had been dreaming of finally upgrading their primary bathroom- 20 years is long enough. They wanted bright and light and better use of the space. An oversized jacuzzi tub was never used as it took forever to fill and wasn't the most easy to enter and exit. Besides that, it completely overpowered the room. A single vanity needed to upgraded and the small corner shower needed to be expanded. Tile and wallpaper became the stars of the renovation, along with exquisite…

  - Description: This was a newly-built luxury condo in the heart of the Old Port of Portland, Maine and was purchased by NYC dwellers as their future retirement home. It lacked some distinctive features that we added in, namely crown-molding throughout, ceiling and wall light fixtures, including recessed, fans and pendants, specific paint colors, furnishings and soft goods, a tiled kitchen back-splash and most importantly, a built-in home bar!

  - Description: Clients purchased a 100-year-old farmhouse/ Duplex on their town’s Main Street that needed some major repairs and updates. The plan was to make it liveable and inviting for their out of town guests to stay in as hotels are few and not close by. The building hadn’t been touched in over 50 years and had last been owned by hoarders. The entire interior of the structure was demo’d and redone. After removing ceilings and walls, electrical and plumbing, gutting each unit’s kitchens and baths, we put h…

  - Description: This quintessential Maine lakehouse was refurbished and furnished from top to bottom! Instead of painting all the tongue and groove, we painted just the trim and ceilings white, as well as the kitchen cabinets. The floors upstairs were lightened in a nice gray, porch paint. Furnished with a mixture of vintage or repurposed older things, as well as new pieces. Perfect summer living on a lake in Maine!

## Community Q&A

**Q: trapezoid tiles** *(in Photo Questions)*

Beautiful! Do u know where I can find them?

A: I sourced them locally but they are from Sonoma Tile out of California- they are called Stellar High Tide- you can probably check your local tile store for sourcing options. Glad you like them!

**Q: where is the living room rug from?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Its been a few years but pretty sure thru Wayfair- is just a manmade poly version since its off the lakeside entry so would hold up to traffic. Still looks as good a new too!

**Q: Love the textured tile!** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you tell me what brand it Is? Thanks!

A: thanks for asking- called 'Nabi Jewel' in a crackled blue finish

**Q: What colour paint is on the gray wall?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Thanks.

A: The darker, charcoal color is Ben Moore ‘Iron Mountain’ and the lighter gray on the other 3 walls is Ben Moore ‘Moonshine’

**Q: back wall** *(in Photo Questions)*

what is on the back wall? is that wall paper??

A: It is pretty fabulous and real looking- it is a mural/wallpaper. It came in 4 strips that my installer put up with paper glue. I can’t remember where we got it but this version is pretty darn close:

**Q: Love the bedding! Where can I find this?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Thanks for asking! It used to be carried by Company C but years ago- not sure they carry it any more though
