> A breathe of fresh air.... If you want a gorgeous closet done right the first time with no drama, and within your budget, then call Wendy. She is responsive, organized and accountable which in my experience is hard to find in today's world of home contractors. Her designs are equally beautiful as they are thoughtful to your needs. It's not a one size fits all solution. She has done so many closets for me from a small entry closet to a small 6 ft.reach-in to larger walk-in's. Each one is different and I've loved them all (and still do a decade later). She sets the bar high from start to finish and I'm a picky, picky person with huge attention to detail. I can sometimes even be a PITA but I want things done right the 1st time. She is a delight to work with and a very easy going like-able person. If I could give her 6 stars, I would. My only warning is that if you've never done a closet before then be prepared to be completely WOW'd by the space you never knew you had - and - the organization you never thought you could maintain!

**Q: Cabinetry** *(in Photo Questions)*

Was this gorgeous closet through a closet company, custom made Ikea?

A: There wasn’t an issue with moths on this project. I don’t remember using backing either, since everything was white and built in. You can purchase cedar backing, I believe it comes three way, thin sheets, planks and a lined veneer. Most closet companies don’t do it, you would buy separate from a big box store and have a carpenter install it. Depending on the project, there are probably some pretty creative ways to incorporate it. Or, save some money as hang a cedar block or place cedar balls in the corner!

**Q: Install drawer mounted pull out ironing board?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hello, 

Im having small walk in closet “remodeled”. New shelving and drawers will be put in. Is it worth having a drawer with a pull out iron? It would cost an additional $400. Pros would be less clutter. Is it worth it?

A: Most of the ironing boards that are made to be incorporated into closet design are meant for "touch up" only. They are not full size boards. Your designer should be able to show you three types... 1- is a larger board that folds up and sits inside a tall panel... Sidelines (can swivel) 2- is the board that pops up out of a drawer. (the one complaint I received on this one was that the slides on the sides are greasy.....rev.a.shelf  (no swivel) 3 - the board that can fold up and sit on a shelf or can be hidden with a drop down front... hafele (can swivel)
Make sure you are near an outlet and have plenty of room to maneuver when ironing.

**Q: Is the material used for the closets particleboard with laminate?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: It is white melamine. (3/4” furniture grade pressed particle board with thermo fused melamine skin) It is the standard material all custom closet companies use. The doors and drawers are thormofoil with a glaze

**Q: POLL: Light or dark hardwood?** *(in Polls)*

When it comes to hardwood floors, do you prefer light or dark flooring? I have to say my taste has changed over the years. What's yours?

A: Medium.. light looks old fashioned to me, dark shows every spec of dirt and foot print.

**Q: Closets Closets Closets??** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi There, Houzzers. We are extending dining room and kitchen out 15feet and above are adding a Master Suite. (It's on LEFT side of rear-view pics below). Suite dimensions are 25ft W X 17feet deep. Need layout ideas to get Most Closet Space possible. Only suite requirements:
1\) Fit King size bed
2\) must have 6ft tub
3\) 4ft separate shower (or bigger ok)
4\) lots windows/light
5\) Lots O Closet Space!

Should we do REACH-IN CLOSETS to avoid wasted space?? Need 22ft+ of floor-to-ceiling closet space as minimum. Quick sketches anyone? Thanks in Advance! -Michelle from NJ

A: Two sides meaning the back wall and one side wall... Three sides don't work for hanging, as you need 2' clearance for a hanger to protrude from the wall on both sides plus a minimum of 2' clearance to walk. Mind you, we are going by a description, not a floor plan. If the wall is 5 deep by 8 long... then yes, you could hand on 3 walls.

**Q: cost of this vaults?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I am planning to have exactly the same jewelry vaults in my master bedroom closet so want to know the cost of this.

A: That is complicated to answer. It depends on where you are located and what the closet company you are using charges. The inserts in the drawers and the tilt out hamper are available to the industry, but the necklace pads are custom made for us by a local vendor.
